First of all, keep in mind that this is NOT a knockout tame, you need to put one of its taming foods in your last item slot (berries are the easiest, and I’m pretty sure mejoberries are it’s preferred berry) then, you slowly walk up to it from behind and feed it, as its eating the food, you will get the option to mount it. Once you are riding it, feed it every time it stops running around and tries to buck you off, repeat this over and over until it’s finally tamed. Also, try not to mess up and get bucked off, because the taming percentage will drop at light speed as soon as you do.

Also, before you start taming it in the middle of nowhere, I recommend that you first grab it with a flyer like an argentavis, then drop it in a Dino gate enclosure, If you don’t trap it, it’ll most likely take you on a trip over to the nearest raptor pack. After you trap it, you may need to leave it alone for a few minutes until it finally calms down, then tame away to your hearts content, Hope this helps! :)

Just use wyvern or some creatures that can grab it and put it in a doorframe cage. Now just feed it and drive, spaming E ( on PC ) until it is tamed

(For Ark Mobile players) - you do NOT have to mount the Equus to complete the “Tame Equus” mission [I hope someone’s stress levels went down upon hearing that]. It seems to enjoy spawning near annoyingly dangerous dinos. Feed it rockarrots and MOVE AWAY until it is hungry again. Follow those two steps until you tame it. For me it took 8-10 feeds, lasted 7-9 minutes. I was lucky that the T-Rex, Raptors and Carnos got themselves killed AND my Equus (Willa) glitched between trees making taming easier. build a box once you spot one grab an argie and pick it up and drop it in the bix make sure the walls are 2 walls hight a tip

When you are on it and it bucks, tap the carrots down at the corner. You should have them ready and it doesn’t take that long with carrots, but it will with somethings. And the spawn all over the map. Like if this helped pls!

So after all the dying i went to 53:32 and started to search there killed all bugs and dilos i saw and left trike,anky,stego for defence and also to low lvl to kill them and also spawn place for branto so usless coz only rex attack them so save but not smaller dino i was killed under one by rapter and it did nothing but any way so i run up and down searching and collect carrot along they way finally two spawn lvl 30 female and male white with black striped i had 5 carrots ran up to collect more and when i had 12 ran down and female had run away but male stayed jumped on him and taming begins 1=5% tame didn't have right number to tame so stared to feed mejo 1=0.2% so yeah pain lmao so carrats went up untill 45% and also got it in nic place between 2 rocks so dinos didn't see me when it was 80% i gave it two mejo after each other it kicked me of and run to red woods i run up away in to cliff to get more carrots.look part3

Use bolas. They don’t decrease the effectiveness!

you need 100 rockcarrot at least to tame almost all level i try level 30 and 100 give the same result

Use soothing balm, took me 1 carrot with soothing balm, I think it was a level 15

Okay this is how I tamed my zebra horse

Step 1 get a butt load of rock carrots

Step 2 feed it 1 time

Step 3 ride it then whenever it trys to buck you off give it a rock

Step 4 make sure theirs no danger around when you tame it then tada!

Also this was on mobile

NEVER EVER TRY TO TAME IT IN SMALL AREAS. This will get you knocked out several times.

OK this is something that worked pretty well with me. Have at least a stack (100) and a half (50) Rockarrots in your inventory. You need a taming pen, so like an open space surrounded by walls that the Equis can’t damage. I had metal, but anything else besides what it can damage is good. If yo have an Argentavis, you can use that to pick up the Equus and drop it into the pen. Mount, feed, dismount, standby. The first feeding, stay on until it eats again, then dismount and standby. After a couple seconds or maybe a few minutes, mount again and feed if it lets you. This worked for me for a level 115 Equus. Tamed my first equus today with 50 carrots and still had 19 left over also only took me about 20 mins

Equus are very easy to get when you get at least 1or 2 females and 1 male you just breed them and then you can have a heard.

2% chance of triplets. First time breeding, triplets. On a different note, if you are able to find one either take an extra 5 minutes to clear out any predators or walk close to it to cause the Equus to move away. It will keep running as long as it’s aware of you. Once in a safe place, start the taming process. Even if you mess up and fall off, the Equus will always return to the pivot point the initial taming started.

Taming it is hard...So I suggest using balms for those in mobile...Because unless trapped and equus if hard to tame. But if u want one, u could 1st bola it and build stone fence around it quickly make it at least 4 fence high

Tamed a freaking argent before this. Such a pain in the arse to tame on mobile. if you get bucked off you lose ridiculous amounts of taming effectiveness. Make sure you’re paying attention when it needs food to not end up with a crappy horse and a knocked out survivor.

They spawn at the fork in the river where I live but also raptors Rexes terror birds scorpions all the freaking bad stuff pawn there also . can’t tame one without a snake eating the Equus

Taming tool tip says 46 carrots for a level 200.... I used 200 and still didn’t get it lol. Taming numbers are way off for mobile (I had it set to 1.75 tame)

U wanna tame one crouch and use rackerots but don’t ride one the may say ride it but don’t u learn that the hard way but don’t get to close the run away pretty fast and use soothing balm to tame fast it takes only one minute
