What are tips for equus? Tips and strategies for equus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
To tame a horse I would use a bird that can pick it up and take it to a pen where you could take it. And if you wanna use berry I would take 300 for a 145 to the lowest. I hoped I helped Somone that wanted a horse
To tame these is what I did I brought them to my base where my friend gave some balm and it tamed instantly so always use MAJOR SOOTHING BALM
Like if helpful :)
There are 2 options to tame equips:
1.kill the allo near it and ride it
2.go find another equus that is not near an allo
Option 1 is the best cause finding another one will be very hard.
I have a level 200+ with 300% melee and it can easily knock out a lot of creatures, including carnos, troodons and scorpions, but is still relatively easy for a level 50+ with 150% melee. Plus, their stamina is excellent if fleeing(with no bucking). So for this reason Equus are brilliant for early-mid game travel and taming. HOWEVER watch out for raptors with their new pin attack, spiders and other trapping creatures. To escape you must repeatedly jump. And finally IN ATTACK WATCH YOUR STAM BRUTHA
As a mobile player myself I suggest you other mobile players use crops to tame it but be careful once it sees you it'll run as far as the eye can see so just keep crouched adapt to it's movements and stay behind it until tamed
Also don't let anything hit it it'll reset the taming process
Hope this helps!
-randon guy you found on tips
Kill the parent, steal the babies, very humane
They are pretty common in the western plains on the island
A pen does help taming Equus and can keep them from running into unsafe areas while you do, but you need to give them time in the game to calm down from being either dropped by a flyer or pulled by a lasso into the pen.
Once the Equus is in the pen leave it alone for an in-game day. Keep your tames and yourself away from the pen. Once it calms down, go in and tame like you normally tame an Equus.
Easy steps for taming equus (ark mobile):
1.) if you don’t want to be eaten by other creatures around the area, just bring it to your base with an argy, optional if you want to put it in a taming pen (dino gates).
2.)if you have soothing balm it's much better, but if you don’t carrots are good enough.
3.) Ready your carrots and soothing balm in you hotbar and wear ghillie then approach it carefully from behind. But do the feed it right away cuz it will knock you out/off if you feed it then mount it. You have to firstly mount it the feed it.
4.) prepare to get dizzy lol
(Bonus tip: if you want to have it feed much quicker, after feeding it, spam jump cuz it drains its stamina and will be hungry after filling its stam.)
Reminder: when you drain its stam, then it says feed it, “dont” wait for it to stop running then you feed it.
-Hopes this help
I have learned they are not knockout tames 🙂
In ark mobile, it’s is kinda tricky to tame one of these. Here’s how:
1# Don’t mount it, just sneak up on it and feed it rocketcarrots.
2# do that’s till it’s tame!
3# enjoy your new BFF!
When taming am equus the therizinosaurus will leave you alone
The passive creatures that only attack people will leave you alone
Bring a tribemate with a fast tame to escort you when you're taming one.
You can get lucky solo, but they like to run to the most dangerous spot they can. Something like a carno or rex should be able to follow along with you and kill any threats to it.
Don't be like me, I waited hours looking for an Equus on my island. It was pain. Even on the Equus Spawns. I checked, checked a different spawn, came back, no Equus. I recommend for mobile players, go to redwoods, on the < left side where a mountain is at. Just wait a few minutes and 3 Equuses will spawn. If all three got killed, wait 1-2 Ark Days and come back to that same moutainous spot. 3 Equuses may spawn. But be careful and make sure to wipe predators out. Rexes, and huge raptor packs have a reputation to spawn. So be careful, and If you have an argy I recommend taking the equus out of redwoods.
DONT ride equus on mobile(to tame). It is safe to carry it through an argentavis and drop on a 4x4 taming pen. Just sneak up on its ass, never let it see you and feed it some dilo kibble/rockarrot. The tame equus pursuit says bring 5 rockarrots, nah they are tripping follow the dododex quantity food instead.
Don’t know if this helps but there’s unlike the others in western zone a 3.000 percent chance of finding a Eques if I spelled it right and that’s 3% if you didnt know and like a 25% chance in the island 70% in south zone The island 0.0001% in red woods hope it helped?!!!
Equus are not the most essential tame, but their speed and torpor kick, as well as saddle crafting makes the a well worthwhile tame so here’s a guide to help you tame one for yourself.
1. Equus are an herbivorous passive tame that can eat berries or crops or kibble, however, using berries and crops besides rockarrots I would highly caution against because it tanks the effectiveness, and takes forever, increasing the risk of attack, and the Equus doing something dumb like swimming or running off a cliff while taming it.
2. Locate your desired Equus and clear the area of hostile dinos, to prevent the low tame effectiveness, reset of tame progress, or death of the Equus. If you are unable to kill problematic dinos, lure them away.
3. To tame an Equus, you will need to sneak up, preferably with ghillie, or sprint up really quickly and feed it. Immediately after feeding it you need to ride it, and then as it starts to buck and show a status message telling you to feed it to calm it, you need to feed it. Repeat until it is tamed. You will not be able to control it while riding so keep that in mind with hazards around the area such as water, cliffs and lava.
Happy taming!
I discovered it’s easier to tame a archy first then go find a equus, pick it up and take it back to a pen. That sounds dumb I know but it’s a guarantee tame success. The amount of times I have had them get eaten or run off a cliff drove me to this solution.
