Good weight and bulk on these guys. They don't need a saddle and have a passive armor stat that scales with their level. You can make them even bulkier by activating their bark armor ability, which trades off food drain for additional armor. They can also root enemies in place for a short period. You can spawn a totem that buffs your team while debuffing opponents. The totem can be detonated to deal AOE damage, and if you land enough hits before detonating, your elderclaw will become giant.

One of the cooler aspects of the Elderclaw is its ability to spawn Corpse Blossoms. Basically, if your elderclaw kills a creature, there is a small chance to spawn a purple boney flower on the corpse. When you use your root burst ability on this flower, it puts one of six rare ingredients in your Elderclaw's inventory. You can keep the drops random or go into the radial wheel for your elderclaw and select what specific drop you want from the corpse blossom. Like I said, the spawn rate of these blossoms is pretty small, but it can be a nice way to get something like biotoxin or black pearls passively while you're out killing stuff.

Fairly fast land mount but kind of low stamina. Watch out for fall damage with these guys. They're omnivores so you can heal them pretty quickly by forcefeeding meat.
