My first time tamed a dire bear be like:

=> Over 1k weight

=> 800% melee

=> Super fast

=> Kill 2 Alpha Carno at the same time

=> Very epic for a bear

To stun the bear you have to use the bear trap...Wow like we didn't know we use a BEAR trap on the direBEAR

If you look carefully at their face on mobile from 10 meters away with a spy glass you will notice after a min of examining that they have the same face as a direwolf,but just flattened,seems like wildcard studios got a bit lazy!
