Tips & Strategies
Hello people of ark I have a short Tip about the DireBear
This thing is a killer if tamed or not tamed
Breed this thing and u can use it in boss fights or in general pvp
A bear can beat a rex if bred good enough
U may want to get ur hands on one of these
Make a 4x2 taming pen with window frames 2 ramps then u lure the bear inside I recommend u use tranq darts arrows will kill it, but if u play prim+ u have no other choise
If u play primitive+ use arrows and when the bear is bloody and still attacking the walls drag a corpse of a Dino or player to it wait 5 seconds after it eats the corpse then shoot it with ur tranqs
If it’s unconscious u put mutton in its inventory since it tames better and same effect as kibble
After its tamed u can get fiber with it as well
Its also verry fast don’t put its lvls into speed only melee stam and hp
I hope u found this helpful if u did make sure to like it so more people notice it
Direbear have little health compared to torpor. Keep a few tamed dodos at your ramp trap. When you've shot the bear enough for it to be bloody, throw in a dodo. It will instantly kill and eat it and start regenerating health. Give it a moment or two and continue darting. Happy hunting!
These guys can run up to really fast speeds when agro. When tamed they are AMAZING berrie and fibre collectors. Really powerful, a low level bear could easily take on a low level Rex.
To reduce chance of killing it while trying to knock it out is by shooting with a primitive crossbow without delay until it starts to show blood then switch to a regular bow and then space shots 7 seconds apart - works every time for me no matter the level
When running from one don't run in a straight line they get faster the longer they run so try to go through a heavily wooded area since it will hit the trees and it will its speed will reset
Only the large bear trap workd because he ate too much McDonald's
I like the dire bear in the wild. why? It's because it's not crazy and goes and kills everything in its path(raptors/terrorbirds you pests)just dont go near it.They will be mad but overall it's great.Too bad there are no bees is ark mobile:/
You wont be able to knockout a high level direbear 400+ using tranq arrows in a crossbow instead use longneck rifle with tranq darts but the darts are only craftable in level 62.
(for Mobile)
1. shoot it with tranq arrows
2. gather raw or raw prime meat if you don't have them
3. Return to the place where you knocked it down just to see it get eaten by terror birds ane carnos.
Bears are perhaps the best bodyguards for protecting in-progress tames without needing to stick around and babysit the whole process. Their main advantage for this role (compared to other powerful tames) is that almost EVERYTHING aggros them, even the measly dilophosaur.
Station a few bears in strategic locations around your KO, then sit back and relax knowing that any predators that come by will attack - and promptly get demolished by - your bear brigade.
Probably the most versatile land creature. Can eat berries and meat. Hard to tame unless you use DARTS or a SNOW OWL to heal it during tranq arrow-ing it with a x-bow.
Probably best to put HP>Dmg. These things are trucks but don't get to cocky.
Taming this bear can be fairly low stress depending on how safe the area is and how prepared you are. I would recommend bringing a cross bow with narcotic arrows, and a LARGE BEAR TRAP. I was able to tame one by placing a large bear trap in front of me, and shooting the bear from a distance until it got stuck in the trap. Make sure you keep shooting the bear with narcotic arrows as it approaches as it does take a little to knock it out, and they can break free from the trap, mine broke free from the trap before it fell unconscious. I would advise to place another trap either infront or directly behind the bear, as they tend to run away once they have been hit with about half the arrows they need to fall unconscious. Unless you want the extra levels, you don't necessarily need kibble, mutton, or prime, as I tamed a level 30 with around 10 pieces of raw meat. Honey is by far the best taming food, but chances are, your taming the beat so you can get the honey
