What are tips for dire bear? Tips and strategies for dire bear in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Use a giant bear trap no smol trap
It won’t work
This thing is a BEAST
it collects fiber for days
a TRex with fur
If you use normal tranquilizer arrows, the situation can get very... dire.
If he is knocked, he is easy to tame because he can also eat berrys. Not as effective as good meet, but its acceptable. He can gather fiber very well.
ps i hope it helped
Bear trap might not work but LARGE bear trap does.
If your weapon gives a high chaceto kill in dododex, check for number of hits to flee. Shoot a few tranqs short of its flee value. Drop a couple of sleeping bags down, drop everything and jump in so that he can attack, kill, and most importantly eat you. If you respawn and your body is still there move towards him so his next bite eats your last body. This will heal him enough that you can now continue your KO without risk of it dying. Be sure to do this before he goes into flee mode because then he won’t attack you. Better still use longneck and darts but if you don’t have them unlocked yet, this method will always work.
Do not mess up with them when you are low...
They are SOOO strong!
Regular bear traps do not work
you have to use the large ones
Taming this bear can be fairly low stress depending on how safe the area is and how prepared you are. I would recommend bringing a cross bow with narcotic arrows, and a LARGE BEAR TRAP. I was able to tame one by placing a large bear trap in front of me, and shooting the bear from a distance until it got stuck in the trap. Make sure you keep shooting the bear with narcotic arrows as it approaches as it does take a little to knock it out, and they can break free from the trap, mine broke free from the trap before it fell unconscious. I would advise to place another trap either infront or directly behind the bear, as they tend to run away once they have been hit with about half the arrows they need to fall unconscious. Unless you want the extra levels, you don't necessarily need kibble, mutton, or prime, as I tamed a level 30 with around 10 pieces of raw meat. Honey is by far the best taming food, but chances are, your taming the beat so you can get the honey
This little guy killed my Rex, spino, and bary because they were all on passive. Tip: Don't leave your Dino's on passive in the redwoods.
Very powerful creature will destroy your armor and hunt you down if aggro...if other bears in area they will also attack , they are territorial so keep your distance.
Bruh! These are possibly the most versatile tame in the game! They’re fast, strong, can carry quetz weight, do more damage than a Rex, and just look friggin dope. My low level at 1,600 hp took on a 27,000 hp alpha carno and THEN took on a 10,000 hp alpha raptor; all without losing half it’s hp. The best tame in my opinion! They start with terrible hp (like 400 at low level), but if you hold down the attack, then they do double attacks. Peace out ✌️
Only large bear traps work I learnt that the hard way
These things do NOT mess around. I’ve been killed with one or two swipes by a level 26, and I’m level 97 (I was wearing cloth armor, though). Then the dang bear murdered my newly tamed lavender Megatherium because I had put my tames on Passive before I tried to tame the Direbear. RIP Blossom T^T
Dire bears are OP if you can tame one, there heavy attack does mass amounts of damage. They are the best early game Dino.
If you want to knock it out with a crossbow, shoot it until it gets low then feed it a dead body of any dinosaur. This will make it get all of its health back allowing you to knock it out without killing it.
