So apparently this Dino in baby stages is like a tadpole and has to remain in water. I podded two juveniles and threw them out on land and they both just disappeared.

Keep them in water the full duration or it will disappear

You can only mount these guys when they're swimming!

They don't have the best health, but amazing speed underwater and you can even get oxygen from them. They're somewhat rarer on ARK Mobile, but found in swamps being attacked by 12 local Kapros.

They're skittish like Ovi's and Archy's, but easy to get down and can be carried by Argys or larger, tamed or not.

When i tame a high level diplocaulus i am happy i ride it at the water and i think i must give all my items to my basilosaurus then i shock it is super duper fast

warning: diplocaulus if you use diplocaulus oxygen he/she will give you oxygen but it has limit your using diplocaulus oxygen that’s not infinite oxygen most of people submit infinite oxygen

An offer overlooked tame. While yes, there are better tames, if you’re an earlygame or begennier, this is a pretty good dino to travel into the sea. It can also get black pearls from trilobites really well. Oh and did I mention you can take oxygen from them if you’re drowning? Again, very overlooked and underrated tame.

They one shot trilobites and get black pearls, they are super fast underwater. You can find them in swamps. You can get oxygen from them and use their oxygen while you are riding them underwater.

Bring them to the trilobite river on aberration. Slaughter all the trilobites, you wont have to worry about meat, chitin, oil, silica, pearls, or black pearls

Tamed one today, it was by the Green odilisk. Brought it home with an argentavis, shot it a few times with narco arrows (bow) and fed it meat and narcotics as needed!

So I literally have a theri a spino and bronto but I don’t have the diplocaulus so I’m like I guess I’ll have to find one and honestly there are quite the needle in the haystack including in the swamps but only having a pretondon with low stamina It was the only choice looking through the swamp a bit I finally found one and he is quite the looker he’s mostly black with neon blue detailing so I picked him up and flew him to my base which we did have to make a few stops because once again low stamina and I live on herbivore and if you did what I did I do recommend landing facing the water because the diplocaulus with go the opposite direction and you don’t want it going in the water because DAMN are they fast little buggers in water but very slow on land and they’ll only run like not even 4 feet away before stoping so nothing to worry about but as I was saying I arrived at my base and put him in a little 2x4 pen but I won’t be able to tame home for 3 days so I’ll probably knock him out ever once in a while to give him food 🤣 but other wise till then he is my prisoner
