so when ever I start on a new server I always tame a small team of these guys just for some protection. I recommend you do this when you are between level 3-15

These guys are great because their poison can slow down enemies wile you run for your life, not mentioned they are pretty easy to tame because you can knock them out with your fists. When you are using them I suggest you have their attack range on high ( if it is not they will not use poison as much)and follow distance on low. When you are a low level you can even store perishable items, like narco berries, in them to have them last longer.

I was in beach,then a kapro jumped to attack me. My dilo (Dennis)came out and killed him :D

Honestly the only things that I use these little guys for is:

1. Fodder

2. Meat grinders (let them loose on any unsuspecting creatures)

3. House pet (I think they are adorable, even if you can’t really do much with them, I usually have 4 on roam in my house)

P.s. I don’t mean to allow “digi-animal” cruelty (it’s just that they are really good distractions if you need to run)

I started playing 2 days ago and I'm in love with these guys. I have a pack of 8 and I had the courage to go deep into the forest. Then guess what happened. I was attacked by a carno and a pack of 3 raptors. And my Dilos took care of all of them and not a scratch on me. Best early game 'Packs'. Tame them they're good.

P.S- btw i was riding a trike.

I once had a dilo named yary. Two minutes after I tamed him he killed a Sarco that was attacking me. He died but so did the sarco. He is forever with us. Rip yary.

Dilos on wander are great for patrolling a yard and dealing with wild critters that break in, like argies or snakes, while a few set to follow will give low-level survivors a chance to run to safety while they keep attacking critters busy.

Get their hp up to 1k and put the rest of their levels into melee and they can even give raptors and sarcos a hard time, while few extra levels into carry weight will allow your security team to also harvest some extra meat and hide for you.

Useful for early game and late game.

Early game: tame a 5-15 leveled 100+ and they'll keep you safe from almost anything. (Easy to tame for beginners too!) Bola them and punch them and feed them raw meat.

Late game: tame as many as you want and put them wherever you want on your base area and put them on turret mode! You immediately got acid spitting turrets.

Why does my baby stay at 20 health?

Dilo are one of the best dinos to tame very early game, they are actually good at assisting you when hunting. They may not do so much damage but their ability to spit slows down your opponent which is very useful especially against something small or fast or even both like Dimorphodon or Raptors. Another thing, when tamed all you need to focus on is leveling up health and damage, leveling up stamina is a waste since you can't ride them and when they're following you, they don't use stamina. Weight is also another waste on leveling since they can't carry much in the first place.

Have a pack of five ranging from lvl6-lvl24. (I'm a newborn, and play single player) They come in all colors, and they have saved my behind from raptors multiple times. Hunting is a breeze, one arrow and they are on it. Plus dividing haul among them when gathering is easy. A high recommend for newbies, coming from a newbie.

Tame a gang of them and make the aggressive and wandering. Enjoy your home defender.

There is now an option to enable a turret mode on Dilos. They stand still, act as great early game turrests, and don't move without the need to fill their pockets with stone.

How to breed dilo

1. Get male and female dilo

2. Put them in a small house or room so they are not to far from each other

3. Put them on wander and whistle stop

4 wait

5 they layed a egg put it by a fire it will get too cold or too hot

6 wait until it is hatched

7 claim it put all the raw meat you have in its inventory ( unless you want it to die)

8 wait for it to grow up

9 yay you have new dilo friend

I just have to say dilos are really useful at any point in the game I currently have a pack of 5 and they dominate I just have to hit once and fall back and watch the carnage

How to breed (for the guy that asked)

1. Get a male and a female

2. Make a small pen that will fit them both (it must be small enough make sure they aren’t more than a tail length from each other)

3. For mobile enable wander on them both for anything else enable wander/mating on them both

4. Red Hearts will appear on top of them wait a little until the female lays a fertile egg

5. Once egg is laid IMMEDIATELY pick it up

6. Run to camp fire, light it and put egg under

7. If the egg says it’s too hot turn off fire, if to cold build and light another fire

8. When it’s at a perfect temp wait for it to hatch WARNING: THE TEMP MAY CHANGE MAKE SURE IT DOSENT OVER HEAT OR FREEZE!!!

9. One hatched claim it

10. FEED IT MEAT

Now u have baby! It need to be fed ALOT so have a good stack of food for it. Use reg meat not fish meat cuz fish doesn’t feed him as good. it will eat on its own. Also it won’t attack until it’s an adult, but it will run around. turn OFF wander! Hope this is helpful thx for reading

I had my game on casual mode and tamed a lvl 14 and lvl 19 dilo (I think) they became lvl 19 and 23 respectively. There was a time I was building my tatch base and a lvl 3 sarco attacked me but my dilo's were on neutral and somehow destroyed the sarco. Please note that the sarco was lvl 3.

When facing a tantiboa 3 of these dinos will kill no doubt they are great friends and battlemates loyal too
