Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a deinosuchus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a deinosuchus.
If you're looking to tame on on official 1x rates it should take around 15 kibble to tame and they take superior kibble as the preferred foods, Also a consistent spawn would be in the caves by the stone heinge location of the map.
How to tame a Deinosuchus:
Find one (Beaches, Rivers, Swamps, I found mine on the beach in the southeast corner)
If it is in water, lure it out by aggroing it onto you) repeat this every time it goes into water
Wait until it opens it’s jaw, run up to it with kibble or meat and press „E“ to put it in its jaw. Instantly after pressing E, turn and run away, since it’s jaw will slam shut and it wakes up. Repeat this process until it’s tamed.
Leftclick: Regular Bite
Rightclick (Hold until 100% charged): Giga Bite, deals A TON of damage and has a short cooldown
C: Tail swing deals A TON of knockback
Hold Space: Makes it turn into the direction you are looking at
Good Luck
The other comment is right, the cooked lamb chop is not as effective as it says. Definitely better to use kibble
I tame these guys soly in a 3x3 stone trap with walls all around, once in there it won't get out. Then just run to the side so it doesn't agro and run back when it opens it's mouth (no saliva). I recommend a high level argy with loads of health for kitting it.
Takes superior kibble to tame, just walk up with ghille and put in its mouth
Rates are wrong, official took me 40+ prime to tame a lvl 90
Not sure but the taming food amount and time seem to be wrong. Checked and saw it was 9 prime for a 150 (with 5x rates) walked up and fed it and the taming only went up by 4% took around 25 pieces of prime to tame and I ended up having to go get more since I hadn't brought enough.
I would recommend only using superior kibble to tame one because prime and mutton don’t give much percent even for low levels. I would suggest getting around 10 kibble for a high level and just get it away from anything because these guys attack everything. After that use some gillie and wait until the gator opens his mouth and approach it near the neck, and feed the kibble. After you feed back away and watch it walk around until it lays down again. The great thing is these guys won’t loose there taming progress or effectiveness if they agro to you. Repeat these steps and you will have yourself one of the greatest all rounded dino’s on the island!
Try to feed and lure it towards an open area with no Dino’s near it will go so much faster. When they agro they take forever to open their mouth again
When it opens it jaw run up to the left side between its heand and left front arm feed it purple kibble and run away or jump way up to lose agro and repeat after that have fun with the new dino
Find the one you wanna tame, clear all mobs around it, especially little fliers. Once that’s done wait til it opens its mouth run up with kibble/prime with it in your last inventory slot to its head, feed it at its neckish area, run away rinse repeat new friend!
Taming these actually isn't too hard if you know the method. I personally had the assistance of a Tropical Crystal Wyvern, though. Quick heads up: They WILL attack Crystal Wyverns on their own, and likely many other fliers (eg Argentavis, Maewing, Pteranodon.) This tip also includes controls, if you have the default ones.
Wear Ghillie, and find your croc. They're bigger than a Sarco and their head shape is different. Have your taming food (I used mutton, I don't remember which kibble they like) in your last item slot. When it lays down with it's mouth open, sneak up to it's head and feed it. You'll know its been fed if it's mouth closes abruptly. Then, RUN, preferably back to a flier. It has a short animation/roar after being fed which gives you time to run. Repeat until tamed.
It doesn't need an interval or to have it's food drain, it can be fed every time it lays down with it's mouth open. Please don't try fight them in the wild! A 135 did over 700 damage and a nasty bleed to my Wyvern with it's Giga-bite. Just avoid them, unless taming.
Controls (PC)
Left click: Normal melee
Right click (hold and release:) Giga-bite
C: Tailwhip. Stuns things and knocks them back.
Space: Seems to be turn on the spot in the direction the camera is facing.
Left control: Roar, no special effect.
With their left click, they can turn immediately like a Sarco.
Building a trap for it is quite easy. a 4 by 4 foundation, line it with doorframes and ramps. once it basks feed it with mutton or prime meat if you dont have kibble. After about 20-30 minutes its tamed.
If you have a good enough ghillie suit the deino will never aggro on you. Makes things a lot quicker.
If your on ase and have these guys on the server, they can be netted, and will still open they’re mouth for feeding. You can get in about 3 feeds before you have to run to create some distance. Even when aggrod, they will still open they’re mouth for taming, just watch out for the giga bite, as it can still use it a couple seconds after being netted. If your on asa, I’d recommend aground one, leading it to a large open area with no water. De render it and proceed with the regular taming method, but only approach FROM THE FRONT, they will aggro if you do. As far as I know, nothing can carry them. Maybe tek skiffs, but I’m not sure. That should be all surrounding them, they do have three varieties in ase, regular, abb and x, and paleo if you use paleo ark. I recommend kibble no matter what, as even mutton takes forever, hopes this helps!
On official it’s 7% each feed on 1x rates, it takes roughly 14 superior kibble to tame a 150. The egg incubation is 2.5hrs on 1x rates.
Took 50 raw mutton for a 120 on X2 taming speed.
Did not need ghillie juat wait till it passively opens its mouth and throw the mutton in.
Place the mutton in the last slot like other passive tames.
Don't try to feed if it's in aggro mode.
Run at it feed run away
From it
Net gun does work I tried it myself
Equip ghillie and walk up to its mouth while it's opening its mouth and feed it kibble then run away, rinse and repeat until tamed. Literally the quickest and easiest 'apex dino' tame ever
