Tips & Strategies

What are tips for deinosuchus? Tips and strategies for deinosuchus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
My best advice is to have lead it to a clear area out of the swamp by itself. You don’t want any Dino’s nearby or it’ll be easily distracted and won’t open its mouth (I had my tribe mates clear out all the Dino’s). Also kibble / mutton is your best bet or it could really take a while.
Griffin eggs work towards superior kibble
Dying 20 times trying to tame this was enough
When taming this thing dont let it bite it deals 1000 dmg just get a aerial type dino and you can tame it
One word:
TAME
Is it on ase?
I tried on all maps but didnt find any
On asa official servers a single prime meat will do only about .8 tame effectiveness. Try and lure it to an area away from water and creatures. Mine got stuck in a structure and was easy to tame however it took me about 2 hours of continuous prime feeding til I got a lvl 135 with 18k food……….. then I found a lvl 150 right after. anyways good luck! Not hard but not easy
Run fast. Shove food up butt. Run away.
I highly recommend wearing a ghille suit .Also I think it's better to clear the area of all possible threats and creatures for it to agro to.
ONLY USE SUPERIOR KIBBLE!!! I tried using cooked mutton on a lvl 110 and got 0.4% per mutton during a 2x event. Used superior kibble and got about 17% per kibble on the same deinonychus. Can’t recommend any other food after that experience!
Tip for taming: Y'know how you have to run up to the deinosuchus to feed it? We'll, first of all you don't need ghillie for that, just be quick - in and out. But the real tip: When a deinosuchus opens it's mouth, only go to feed it when the mouth is static. If it's head is shaking and vibrating, it's a giga bite.
LISTEN!!! These are better than Rexes and spinos combined, hear me out.
Number 1: They don’t have an oxygen stat which means they will get extra lvls into other stats like melee and health.
Number 2: They have the giga bite which does something similar to the bleed from giga and thylas.
Number 3: They are easy to find and tame because they spawn near rivers and the swamp plus they are passive tamed with superior kibble which can be made with moschops eggs/large eggs.
So if you are trying to tame this guy and are tired of your gilly brecking get some good flack and feed and run away have it fight some other things and then go back and repeat
Standard traps don’t work. It has to be able to move around in order for the food to drain and to be able to be fed again.
You can find Deinosuchus primarily in the swamp biome. Here’s the best way to tame one:
1. Find a high level one
2. Pick a spot near them use as your taming grounds
3. Clear out the trees and all creatures (they will distract the deino between feedings)
4. Grab the deino’s aggro with your flyer and lead it to the cleared space, then fly straight up
5. Collect prime meat from nearby animals (they spoil faster in your inventory than your flyer’s
6. Wait for the deino to stop, sit down, and open its mouth with a hissing sound
7. Then land your flyer (leave it in passive mode), approach the deino’s mouth from the side and feed it the prime meat (do not touch it!)
8. Quickly run back to your flyer and go up the avoid being bitten
9. Repeat steps 5 - 8 until tamed
P.S. Accidentally attacking or aggroing the deino won’t lower taming efficiency
This might be the only creature worth actually crafting kibble for (superior is needed). The process is super tedious, and even with full ghilly armor they’ll often notice you, so the kibble can sometimes let you do it in one go.
Shoot in the head and stab I’m the heart
Just tried to tame a level 24 on the island but it says you need to be at least level 70 to feed it. Such a shame, I couldn't see any other tips saying this, not sure if it's the case for everyone, I play on Xbox if that helps
