This is an absolutely amazing tame to have at any stage in the game.

To tame you just have to get ghille and sneak up on it while it sunbathes. They just put the food in its mouth.

Once tamed it has incredible health, and damage.

The normal bite is very powerful but if you charge up a giga bite, it will do over 3 times the damage.

You can use them for underwater travel as well as exploring the swamps.

Overall I really recommend getting the giant gator, trust me you’ll love it

This might be one of if not my favourite ark creatures in the whole game it’s amazing and pretty easy to tame it’s extremely bulky and does insane melee damage for best levels ragnarok is the best map found in any swamp biome to tame it full ghille works best but can be done by simply crouching wait for it to open its mouth. Be aware of its giga bite attack if it opens its mouth while chasing you don’t go near it instead try and lead it to something else it will attack basically anything. The only downside to the deinosuchus is its saddle is unlocked at level 74. It’s my favourite for getting tributes for boss fights it can 1v1 brontos and rexes if you have good melee and health and it can also swim meaning it can get both water and on land tributes.

A lot of u guys have been asking how to breed and raise these, and u will be happy to know that i will explain the simple process of raising dienos.

STEP 1: find and tame a male and female dieno of your desired level( reference to my previous tip on taming).

STEP 2: once tamed get the two beasts next to each other and initiate the taming process,( hold triangle on ps and y on xbox), qand scroll to enable mating on both.

STEP 3: whait for the female to lay the egg, (u can see the progress when approaching the female.)( i have noticed the egg is usually under the female).

STEP 4: pick up the egg, ( u will probobly have to move the female dieno to access the egg) place the egg next to 2 or more ac units connected to a generator.

STEP 5: wait for the egg to hatch, and once hatched, every minute or so the baby dieno will ask for some food, which u put in your last hotbar slot and feed when prompted,( i recommend giving it the food it wants, since i gives better stats, but it is not neccessary. However u HAVE to give it a LOT of meat so it survives. IT EATS A LOT!

So thats the simple way to raise a deino, hope this helped

Passive tame! Superior kibble or better works best.

Wait for it to make a hissing sound and it will sit there with mouth open. Then run up to its mouth and throw kibble/meat in. It’ll chomp down then aggro on you. Run away, wait, and repeat :)

Wait for it to open its mouth, go to it with gillie suit, put food in far right hot bar, spam feed, then run away when it slams its mouth shut. Repeat until tamed. :) enjoy your new swamp puppy

If you take it in the ocean, make sure it's set to follow you, otherwise it'll surface when you dismount

Rates are incorrect took 52 Raw Prime Meat to tame a level 140 on small tribes. Finished tame was level 201.

They replace sarcos when spawing so be careful in chitin cave or you might run into the Jaws of a 150 big ol gater that. Also their tails a currently bugged in asa so just follow the black pillars that appear randomly

Make sure to run like hell the moment you feed it. Wear ghillie and give it superior kibble

They are aggressive toward basically every other wild tame. They are very easily distracted. Be careful near them, they can turn and trap you under them so easily. This is also risky when taming.

They also have "hardened" and melee weapons are basically useless against them.

When I first started ark acended I was horrible and just explored and this guy was my doom he kills you easily with his 3 crazy attacks be careful around him as he’ll randomly strike

Dont compare them to the sarco or kapro they're REALLY strong

These things are ravenous! They eat a TON both when raising and sitting out as adults. Keep that in mind.

To effectively tame the Deinosuchus, the crocodilian stronger than a Rex and better equipped underwater than a Spino;

1. Look for them around the swamp biomes (at least on The Island), they usually can defeat any other Dino, so these guys are usually crawling all over the place, they’re the kings of the swamp.

2. Using FULL GHILLIE, as well as preferably bringing a shield and bug repellent, make sure to crouch walk towards the deinosuchus when it does the opening mouth animation and sitting still. Walking/Running up to it will result in getting detected, however proning is far too slow, so crouch when within 8-10 meters.

3. Using preferably kibble (as even mutton or prime meat will be slower than you’d expect) put it in your last slot and get ready to hand feed it like you would a passive tame. When you feed it, its mouth will slam shut. If you did it right, you won’t get obliterated (hold up shield in case it chomps down and you may yet survive), and there will even be a 3-4 second window where you can run preferably 20 meters away and it won’t aggro.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until tamed

ALTERNATIVE METHOD (REQUIRES A DINO LIKE THE QUETZAL OR RHYGNIOGNATHA THAT CAN PICK YP THE DEINOSUCHUS)

1. Pick the Deinosuchus of your choice with your flyer.

2. Have a pre-constructed trap box at your base or wherever you like.

3. Fly to your trap box and drop it in, make sure box is big enough.

4. Now you can easily tame it in a safe, controlled setting.

Congratulations! You have tamed one of the strongest boss killers in the game! Good luck with your taming, and don’t get chomped!

These CAN be picked up by the wyverns. I dont know about Crystal or Ice wyverns or Voidwyrms since they’re not in ASA yet but I know for a fact that Fire, Lightning and Poison wyverns can pick them up.

I encountered one the other day with my Baryonyx and after it did the big damage attack and smacked us with its tail my Bary and I went sailing hiiiiiigh into the air and I forgot to jump off before I hit the ground so the Bary took major damage. Just be warned about that tail.

Get a flyer(pteranodon is enough) and put meat in your last slot, and when it opens it's mouth while not attacking anything run to it and press E(you must be level 70 to tame it)

Hardly a challenge in a TEK suit. Feed it (while its jaws are open) and fly up in the air until it stops aggro on you and wait until it opens its mouth again..
