They are easy to tame, just lure the parents away and steal the eggs. They are extremely useful for cave raiding, they don’t take any fall damage, and a high enough level one can take down huge prey on its own (even wyverns!)

For taming lots of you are putting debate on how many torches it really depends on the time of day. Day:put less. Night:put more. Unless you have air conditioners

Use flying tame to fly over the nest and wait until the parents have wondered a ways away and then drop down grab the egg then fly away

You will need a pterodactyl and a saddle to get a deino egg P.S.

use the bird to lure them away

Put down 4 metal foundations and metal wall around the foundation then place 20 air conditioners inside the box then place the eggs inside

To get the eggs, bring a Dino you can hold. Like a dodo of Jerboa. You want a few, around 6. Throw the dodos at the direction of the Deinonychus, steal the eggs hop on a flyer and get out of there. Make no attempt to save your dodo. Id suggest a quetzal to carry the dodo.

I gathered sap using this on the small redwood trees. The map was crystal isles. Idk how the deinon did that.

I was on my argy in valguero and I was looking for metal nodes but insted I find myself stealing about 15 deinonycchus eggs and killing their moms and dads :)

I had this cool idea in my head kinda inspired by that guy who said deinonychus

I was just playing around after I finished reading the comment on my deinonychus I pounced on to a tree on accident then I was like this would be a cool place to assassinate someone

I sat up opon a rock and watch a T-Rex a Brontosaurus and two of these creatures fighting the T-Rex won the battle and I got some decent loot from harvesting these creatures and stole the egg later to find out that's the only way to tame them I am so lucky

You can find them in the southeast part of your map they can be found in the ravines you'll know if see a nest its usually near the adult I recommend bringing a argentavis with high health

Here's how I do it,

Get a PT or something and try to lead them far away from the nests or off a cliff, make sure to get hit a few times so they don't lose interest, and then look if there's more, land very cautiously looking around if there's any around, and quicky zap and grab the egg without looking at the level, fly away and then look at the level, if it's bad you can try again, or you can go home ith a 135 egg your welcome :)

Hello been playing for about a month now, looking at all types of beginner tip. I see a lot of people coming up with simple or very technical options to get this egg. 1st off, I don't have an Argy(yet) still using Bella the Ptera 2nd I searched almost 2hrs looking for Deinon packs(bc I didn't kno where Chalk Hills was or the area in general) I found them in this valley that's very hard to find. Didn't drop any small animals or anything hard.

1. Just flew close waiting for them to leave

2. Dropped right next to nest

3. Pick up egg. Gtfo.

These eggs weighed 6.0 & bc I'm using Ptera (& drops kept coming in...(idc keeping flamethrower) I only made off w/ 5. But yea. Kinda simple? Patience was key bc I don't fly around the dark areas (it's actually scary as fk. Period XD) HOPE THIS HELPS -Date:June 6, 2022-
