Chapter twelve (FINAL CHAPTER)

I looked up at the sheer, rocky cliff face that stretched up in front of me.

“Ok, so I get how Leo and I will get up there, but what about you two,” I asked, looking at Carter and Berry. Carter grinned as he pulled out a satchel and two climbing hooks.

“I see.”

I took a deep breath, and than started the climb. Leo obviously got to the top the fastest, scaling it in a matter of minutes. I, however, had to take several breaks before getting to the top. And the last two up were Carter and Berry. As we started walking toward some weird base Carter was talking about, I felt something heavy land on my back, almost causing me to collapse. Shortly after, a sharp, agonizing pain shot throughout my back and side.

“RIPPER,” Carter yelled. I gave in to the crushing weight on my back and collapsed. Than, something turned me on my back. And before I knew what was happening, I was face to face with a massive, glowing red Nameless. It bit into my leg just before Leo smacked it with his tail. It scrambled back to its feet as fast as it could, but not fast enough. Leo barreled into it head first, sending it flying back down the hole where it came from. Carter rushed over to me and examined my wounds.

“Nothing to deep,” he said. “When we get you back to the Spearhead tribe main base, we can get you patched up.”

Leo offered me a ride on his back, to which I happily obliged. After a few hours of walking, we were approaching the front gates of a massive human base.

“Make some new friends Carter?” a tall, stocky man on a high tower.

“Don’t I always, Scope?” he called back up. The man laughed and signaled some people out of sight to open the gate. The colossal steel doors slowly creaked open, and we all stepped inside.

“Let me show you to your pens,” he said. We passed by several, including one with a massive Stego heard of about thirty five, and another with two vibrant Allos playing with each other and a black one and dark orange one cuddling near a thicket of trees. Finally, Carter got me to my pen. It was only me in there, but Carter promised he would visit frequently until he got all the adoption paperwork in order. I said bye to Berry and Leo as they were let out of sight, and settled in to my new home.
