Recently tamed my first crystal wyvern. Went to a premise trap, tranq’d an heir, took the crystal from its head, ran to despair it from the trap and repeated one more time to acquire enough prime crystal.

Turned to the tropical beach, Brought a crossbow and a grapple hook. Waited for the wyvern to land, jumped on its wing then shot it between the shoulder blades with the grapple hook. I’m on console so I pressed left trigger to give the grapple some slack in case I fell off and was able to feed it all the crystal needed.

Once it tames, I just pressed ‘y’ to ride it and left the area.

Sit on the base of the neck and whatever you do, do not touch the left stick. I can caych any level given enough crytstal and fortitude.

Jump on its wings then on its back and lay down on its back and feed it crystal

When taming one, jump onto its back. That way when it takes off after the first feed you can keep feeding it without losing it (Fact came from Nooblets on Yt)

Go for embers before trips at wipe day

Note: You cannot attempt to KO while on the back of the wyvern. The wyvern just makes you slide off the back like a bronto on the back of a quetzal.

Use chain bolas, then shoot at it from a distance as they can still use their breath take primal crystals then either get away or kill it so it doesn't aggro on you

Crystal Wyverns are the only tameable and friendly type of wyvern.

They are passive tames and can be found anywhere

1. In the desert (the desert ones aren't tameable tho BUT they lay eggs)

2. Near the south west of crystal isles (tropical variant)

3. In the volcanic area (ember variant)

4. In the forest near the center of the map (blood variant)

But heres how to get a crystal wyvern:

1. You can feed them crystal but you can more easily tame them using primal crystal which is only obtained from alpha variants of crystal wyvern.

3. Recommended that you stand on their back bc they are fast and can land far away if you are on the ground

4. Feed them and they're yours.

(Btw near the cave of the desert area there is a wyvern nest)

It took me an hour to get primal crystal if ur raising a baby crystal wyvern start looking for crystal early and put them in its inventory the spoil time is around 5 and a half hours in the wyvern’s inventory

Higher level crystal wyverns give more prime crystals when slept. Use gates to trap and sleep. When taming you can grapple hook their back to avoid being clipped off while shoulder riding. Prime Crystal expires fast, so get it as quickly as possible before taming.

But for all the fresh noobs honestly the waiting till it stop and running up the wing n I lay on the shoulder

Passive tame good

If you play with friends someone drive you feed, if you play alone Use a hook in it then feed it until tamed

It’s a good idea to have a glider suit or parachute when taming them because they fly into cliffs which knocks you off.

Easiest taming method is called: WYVERN SURFING!

I'm in single player, and raised a fire wyvern by healing it with my snow owl. Can you somehow do the same with these? Can you get crystal wyvern eggs?

You can easily get onto its back by jumping off an argy/pteranadon while next to it (make sure the argy or ptera is following you though).

When feeding them normal Crystal if you wait about three extra minutes after the second feed is ready the interval drops to 20 seconds per feed and you don’t lose efficiency tested this on official.

To raise a crystal wyvern it must be fed primal crystals instead of milk, they get around 400 food per crystal but seem to eat much slower then normal wyverns to me

First you need to do The Island Note run so you are high level enough to tame one (lvl 65).

Then you need to find a good Crystal Wyvern.

The easiest Crystal Wyvern to tame is the Tropical because it is at a easy biome and very often to find.

If you found your Crystal Wyvern jump on his mount at the widest mount spot.

Now feed him Crystal.

Look how many Crystals you need to tame for the level.

Sometimes you fall off when your touching a mesh or when the Wyvern fly straight up or down so bring some parachutes.

Now you have got your own Crystal Wyvern :D.

I find it best to use the tame tracker on these guys so you always know where they are if you accidentally let loose your grappling hook.
