When the ARKs had lasted 20 years,
The wyvernets will come.
When the land was soaked in crystal tears,
The wyvernets will come.
Find the tropic egg in deepest blue,
Wings of tropeo will come to you.
The largest egg in the center,
Will give you the wings of ember.
Search through the mud, for an egg the color of wyvern blood,
And hidden alone from the rival tribes,
The broken egg awaits unseen.
Of three obilisks that Splash, Bud and Burn, two shall fall and one shall learn, if it bows to a power that is crystal and higher, it shall have the power of Wyverns on Fire.
Five eggs to hatch on the Coldest Night,
Five wyverns born to end the fight,
Darkness will rise to bring the light,
The wyvernets are coming....

Chapter 30: Love is Irrational
Part 6/6
Ben looked up at the night sky to see five shooting stars fly across the night sky. He was sitting down and had his back rested against his hut, and he smiled at the sight.
At first, Ben considered making a wish, but he decided against it.
âSomeone needs that wish more than me,â Ben decided as he closed his eyes. He let out a soft groan as he cracked his neck, then stood up slowly.
He walked to the edge of his hut, peeked past his hut, and saw Neddy and Ruby sitting on top of their hut, gazing into the night sky together. He smirked at the sight, but felt some form of sadness wash over him. Regret.
He pulled back, blinking his eyes rapidly, and he felt a comforting hand on his shoulder. He looked around, but nobody was there. He heard her whispers echo around him, and soon enough a tear struck Benâs eye, falling down silently down his cheek. Ben reached for his cheek and felt the tear run down his hand and looked at it, horrified.
More tears sprouted from his eyes, and he felt his throat clog up. He let out a sniffle as he hiccuped. His heart hurt so badly. He never got to say goodbye to her. He pulled the flower out of his pocket, an aroma overriding his senses. He could feel his vision waneâŚ
âOkay⌠HIC, I just need, HIC, to find out⌠Why I canât read Samuelâs eyes,â Ben muttered as he felt another memory fill his eyes.

Part 5/6
âHave you ever looked in a mirror, Ruby?â Neddy asked softly. Ruby shook her head.
âNo, why?â
âBecause⌠I think Iâm already looking at the stars, Ruby.â
Ruby smiled softly, leaning forward just a little bit more. Neddyâs heart right about leapt out of his chest.
âYou know,â Ruby whispered slyly into his ear, âGlasses make your eyes hotter.â (damn)
Ruby felt herself blush from saying that. She nearly stuttered over those words, but the night was taking its toll on the two. Slowly, the two leaned their heads ever so slightly, they closed eyesâŚ
And the gap was closed.
Within seconds, the two were intertwining tongues within each otherâs mouths, grasping for each otherâs waists, and feeling each otherâs hair. It felt so real, so pure, and no matter how hard they tried they couldnât pull away. Not yet.
Ruby needed this.
Neddy needed this.
Both of them needed this, they had been looking for so long, but both failed to realize that the answer to their problems was in front of them the whole time.
Ruby still couldnât believe it had been that simple.
But as the two kissed, Neddy opened one of his eyes and saw five shooting stars fly across the night sky. In an instant, Neddy locked his wish in, then shut his eyes again and continued to kiss Ruby.
A minute or so later, the two slowly pulled away from each other. Both were blushing very intensely, their faces as red as tomatoes. Neddy blinked his eyes a few more times, still in shock at what he had just done.
âDid we just-â
âI think, I think we just kissed,â Ruby replied, turning away embarrassed.
âIâm sorry I-â
âNo no, itâs okay,â Ruby said as her eyes darted away, âYouâre actually⌠a really good kisser.â
âThanks,â Neddy sheepishly said, his face turning even more red. He looked at the night sky again, noticing that the shooting stars were already long gone.
Still, the stars looked really pretty.
âYou know a shooting star came by,â Neddy admitted to Ruby.
âYou saw one? Did you make a wish?â Ruby asked with a bright smile.
âYeah, yeah I did,â Neddy answered, scuttling his hand toward Rubyâs. He squeezed it reassuringly, and Ruby looked down, holding it back.
âYou donât have to worry, Ruby,â Neddy said,
âI made one for both of us.â
Ruby let out a sigh, resting her head on Neddyâs shoulder.
âNeddy, I just wanted to say thanks,â Ruby said, âThanks for⌠being here for me. When Aurora wasnât. And especially not Samuel and his weird pet bird.â
âNo, thank YOU,â Neddy told Ruby, âYouâre my only real friend here. And Iâm so grateful for that.â
Ruby giggled, peering up at the stars again one last time.
âWell, whatâd you wish for?â Ruby asked curiously. Neddy smirked at Ruby.
âI canât tell you that. Then it canât come true,â Neddy murmured to her.
âRight, right,â Ruby whispered, âItâs fine. I have a feeling I already know what you wished for anyway.â
For the rest of the night, the two sat there silently, enjoying each otherâs company and warmth. And for once, the two didnât feel so cold at night.
Things were starting to look up.

Chapter 30: Love is Irrational
Part 4/6
Meanwhile, Neddy and Ruby were chatting about the many dinosaurs they had seen so far on the island.
âYou know, when I woke up, I saw this GIANT beast with rocks embedded in its skin. It had a huge, long neck, and a huge, long tail, and it was HUGE! It was even bigger than Ms. Carnival!â
âBWAH HAH HAH HAH!â the two laughed. Ruby could barely contain her giggles as she dug into a piece of meat. Neddy raised his hand to speak with a smile plastered on his face.
âHey, hey you know those flying reptile things that just sort of wander the skies like bums?â Neddy asked.
âPteranodons?â
âYeah, yeah! Pteranodons,â Neddy replied with a goofy grin, âI was- I was walking with Samuel, right? And this is before I met you- I kid you not a Pteranodon peed all over his head!â
âWHAT?! Seriously? Samuel? The serious crazy guy with the creepy eyes?â Ruby said, nodding her head toward Samuel (he seemed to be looking over a note).
âY-Yeah! I totally didnât make that up⌠And, you know what was hilarious? The pteranodonâs pee is silent!â
There was a pause in the air, and Ruby was trying to comprehend it for a moment, until it finally dawned on her that Neddy had just told a dad joke. Ruby and Neddy burst into laughter at once, slapping knees and crying tears of joy.
âAhh, that was a nice one dude, I couldnât think of that in a million years!â Ruby shouted with joy.
âAw, come on Iâm sure you could have, Iâve just been saving my joke for 65 million years, kay?â
The two chuckled again, and Ruby glanced at the pair of glasses in her pouch. She smiled, then grabbed Neddyâs hand. He jolted in shock, and looked at her with surprise.
âIs something wrong?â Neddy asked nervously.
âNo, I just wanted to say-â Ruby looked up at the stars, âCome on. Letâs go find a more quiet place to stargaze. Doesnât it look so pretty?â
Neddy looked up at the skies and squinted.
âI mean- I canât tell for sure, you know I lost my glasses. I canât see very well.â
âWell, at least come join me. Maybe weâll see shooting stars.â
âAhh, alright fine. Lead the way.â
Ruby got up from the log and pulled Neddy off of the log, leading him away from the campfire and to their hut. Ruby pointed to the ceiling.
âHelp me get up there, and Iâll pull you up,â Ruby requested.
âAl-Alright,â Neddy stuttered. He crouched down, and Ruby gently used his skinny shoulders as a stepping stool, jumping up and grabbing the ledge of the roof. She pulled herself up, took a second to breathe, until she reached down to haul Neddy up.
The two just sat there, criss-cross-applesauce, until Ruby gave Neddy a sly smile.
âYou didnât think Iâd take you star-seeing without forgetting something important?â Ruby chuckled with a smirk. Neddy blinked, then shook his head. Ruby reached into her pouch, then took out a pair of glasses. Neddyâs eyes widened at the sight.
âIs that-â
âYes, yes it is Neddy!â Ruby squealed with joy, âI told Bobby and Simon about your situation, and Bobby said he had found a bunch of the stuff on his resource expeditions. He gladly gave it to me, and nowâŚâ
Ruby unfolded the glasses and leaned forward, placing them upon his eyes. Neddy began to blink, looking around with wonder. It all looked so clear now, so distinguishable.
Nothing looked so blurry anymore.
âI can see nowâŚâ Neddy paused as he stared into Rubyâs face. The whole time here on this island, Neddy was unsure of what Ruby looked like. Her eyes were always blocked out by her glasses, and her hair looked nothing more than a blob of red and black.
But Neddy couldnât help but feel that Ruby looked like a gem.
âWow, I-â
As Neddy peered at her, he took it in all at once. Her black hair had streaks of red, like a river that runs red throughout a land of earth and stone. She had a tan on her face that made her skin look like honey, and her eyesâŚ
Her eyes sparkled so brightlyâŚ
Ruby blinked, and stared into Neddyâs eyes deeply. Then she blinked again. And a few more times.
âHas Neddyâs eyes always looked⌠this way?â Ruby wondered to herself as she continued to look into them.
Beyond a mask of freckles, acne, and a bad haircut, his eyes stuck out to Ruby the most.
They were like rivers of honey flowing through heaven.
âArenât we going to look at the stars?â Ruby asked softly, peering into his eyes just a little bit more. She didnât know why, but she felt like she needed to look at them for a few more seconds. Neddy blinked a few more times, then shook his head softly.

Ben just stood there for a moment, and Samuel would have thought heâd give up doing whatever he wanted to do, and then just walk away, until finally Ben spoke again.
âHow are you feeling?â Ben asked, âIs there⌠Anything on your mind?â
âWhat a weird question to ask.â
âItâs not weird,â Ben replied honestly, âThey say it all the time. To make sure youâre okay. And it seems like you need a question like that right about now.â
âYeah. Yeah Iâm doing fine. Thanks for asking,â Samuel bluntly replied as he turned his head away. Ben smirked, then crossed his arms.
âYou know that when someone says theyâre doing fine theyâre not really fine, right?â
âReally?â
âYeah, you didnât know that?â
Samuel groaned, then rubbed his forehead.
âOkay, you know what? Fine, Iâm not doing so great myself,â Samuel replied, âThereâs too much on my mind right now. I donât even know where to startâŚâ
âDonât worry about it, take your time,â Ben replied hastily. A head-scratching moment later, and Samuel finally responded.
âYou know what? I just donât get it,â Samuel said as looked up and saw Neddy and Ruby chatting, âI donât get why Aurora is acting this way toward me. I donât know if she likes me or what, but itâs scaring me. It just doesnât make sense, I didnât even do anything for her to feel this way!â
Benâs face lit up, and he looked at the hut Aurora was residing in with an internal chuckle.
âSo, you donât get why Aurora is acting weird around you?â
âNo. No I donât!â Samuel shouted back. Ben thought for a second, then opened his mouth to speak.
âAre you worried that she likes you?â Ben asked. Samuel nodded hesitantly.
âYeah. Yeah I do.â
âWell. You two arenât friends, so why would you worry?â Ben asked with a raised eyebrow.
âYeah. Yeah we arenât. Weâre just allies,â Samuel replied.
âSo. Why are you worried?â
Samuel bit his lower lip, and then asked another question to deflect his statement.
âBut why? Why does she-â
âThere is no why to love,â Ben replied with swiftness, âLove is irrational, Samuel. It ainât supposed to make sense. You feel certain ways toward someone because of their qualities. Their character.â
âAnd how do you even KNOW any of this?â
âIâŚâ Ben shrugged lazily, looking off into the distance with a grin, âHad a friend who experienced the exact same thing. So Iâve witnessed it before and itâs not pretty.â
âSo what do you suggest I do?â Samuel retorted with confusion.
âI dunno. Thatâs up for you to decide,â Ben replied, âBut, before you act, look in your heart. And ask yourself, who do you love? If you donât know the answer, move onto the next question. What type of person do I want to love?â
âThen⌠then youâll know the answer.â
Ben turned around to walk away, when Samuel called out, âWait!â
Ben paused in his tracks and turned around again.
âIâve told you how I feel,â Samuel said with a grin, âNow you need to tell me how you feel. Specifically, what do you think of Skyler? Anything that she believes in that ticks you off?â
The spark from Benâs eyes faded away, and he let out a huff of annoyance.
âYeah. Yeah it does. She thinks the Book Club shouldnât focus on writing, they should focus on reading,â Ben replied, âInstead of focusing on what we desire we should analyze little snippets of text from books and rant about how good they are when they can become so much more than that. I donât get it, but at least she doesnât force us to just read, that much Iâm grateful for.â
âOh.â
Samuel didnât really know what to say about that, that wasnât much help to giving him information, but at least he now knew that Ben wasnât so fond of Skyler.

Chapter 30: Love is Irrational
Part 2/6
âOkay. Okay Iâll come with,â Samuel confirmed.
âGreat,â Skyler said with a smile, âNow, if youâll excuse me, I am going to go to sleep. Perhaps Iâll get another message from the dragon. Moonflight.â
Skyler pulled her arm away from Samuel and walked inside her hut, leaving Samuel to breathe in and out, and he began to look around nervously.
The only person who had known about his implant secret was Aurora.
And now another person who he didnât trust that much was added to that list.
âNo, no itâs going to be FINE,â Samuel thought, âShe sees me as an asset, not a liability. Iâll be fine. My smarts make up for my lack of an implant. I'll be fine.â
Samuel decided that he needed to relax, like Skyler claimed. It would soothe his nerves. Although Samuel didnât know why he was thinking that, he never worried.
Samuel trotted over to the campfire, where most people were talking amongst each other about stories, both the ones they were reading and the ones they were writing. Chris seemed to be having his own fun time petting his pet Dodo, while Gary was feeding his sabertooth, Lynx, some meat which he probably got from his taming expedition. Paige was applying more black lipstick onto her lips, and Neddy was eating a weird sandwich that was two slabs of meat that had a bunch of those purple berries stuck in between. He seemed to be enjoying himself.
âDespite everything weâve been through,â Samuel thought, âEven though I didnât call him a friend.â
He looked over at Ruby, who was talking to Bobby and Simon about something. Bobby nodded along with what she was saying, and then he reached into his pocket and took out a chunk of some sort of black, shiny stone. Obsidian. Then he pulled out a few crystal shards and handed them to Ruby, who bowed toward them and walked away out of sight.
No matter how much Samuel denied it, he couldnât help but feel alone.
âI wish Nova were here,â Samuel thought sadly, looking down at the grass, âMaybe then I wouldnât feel so alone.â
A squawk rang throughout the air, and Samuel turned around to see a dodo bird standing beside him, looking at him oh-so-silently. She glowed just a little bit, but it was Star. Samuel smiled, forgetting all he had thought and reaching down to pet the bird.
âAt least I have you,â Samuel said, scratching the top of her head. Star closed her eyes and let out a smile, ruffling her wings and shaking her body. Samuel looked down at Starâs claws and saw a piece of paper wedged in between. Samuel raised his eyebrow.
âHey, howâd this get here?â Samuel asked, gently taking the paper out of her claws. The paper looked like it had been torn out of a book (Wink wink), and it was blank, but when Samuel turned it around he saw a bunch of weird markings on it.
âWhat⌠is this?â Samuel asked Star. Star didnât say anything. All she did was wink. Samuel gulped, looking at the weird scratches. It looked like it had been drawn on with a piece of flint, and there were many horizontal lines and dots, separated by vertical lines. But at the bottom of the page, it was signed with the symbol of a five-pointed star.
Samuel looked at Star with an agape mouth.
âDid you- did you do this?â Samuel asked with amazement. Star smirked and nodded eagerly. Samuel, astonished, began to walk away to the campfire, inspecting the weird markings with wonder.
âWhat could this mean?â Samuel thought as he sat down on a log. As he looked over it, trying to comprehend what it couldâve met, he felt someone peering over his shoulder.
âWhat do you want?â Samuel sneered with a glare.
âNothing,â Ben replied, âJust curious. What you got there in your hand?â
âNo idea. Thatâs what Iâm trying to figure out,â Samuel answered honestly. Samuel turned around and looked at Benâs face. His eyes which once contained sparks of enthusiasm and joy had faded away, and his smile had disappeared. He looked all business.
âDoesnât look like much to me,â Ben said as he stared into Samuelâs eyes. Ben just looked into his eyes for a bit, and Samuel squinted at him.
âWhat are you trying to do?â Samuel asked with a confused look on his face. Ben blinked his eyes, and that spark returned.
âOh, well sorry about that! Heh,â Ben said with a grin, âI just think you had eye boogers on your face.â
Samuel rubbed his eye, and sure enough there was some crud there. Samuel flicked it away and thanked Ben, but couldnât feel like Ben was looking into his eyes for some other reason.

Chapter 30: Love is Irrational
Part 1/6
Once Ben and Gary entered the gates of the Book Clubâs camp, everyone let out celebratory cheers and a round of applause rang throughout the settlement. All of the Book Club members were gathered around the entrance, clapping their hands as if they had just returned from war. Ben saw Samuel crossing his arms and leaning against a hut with a goofy looking Carnotaurus sitting down next to him. Samuelâs Raptor was looking at the Carnotaurus intensely.
âFinally, it took you two long enough to come back!â Sunny said with a grin.
âOh cut us some slack, we were looking for hours before we found one of these!â Gary shot back while patting the head of the Kaprosuchus. Skyler walked down the pathway to the two with a soft smile on her face.
âYou two did great,â Skyler said with unusual enthusiasm, âIâm glad you and Samuel and Ruby managed to return here with the tames. You have my thanks.â
âOf⌠course,â Ben replied as he stared at Skyler with relaxed eyes. Ben still couldnât understand it. Why?
Why limit oneâs self to just reading?
âSo whatâs the plan now?â Simon walked up to Skyler and asked, âAre we just going to keep building? Thereâs got to be more than that, right?â
Skyler nodded, then afterwards clapped her hands loudly, getting everyoneâs attention. All ears and eyes were on her.
âEverybody, our mission to tame the Carnotaurus and Kaprosuchus was successful. But I need more answers and I want to know how to harness the power of the Obelisk!â
Everyone began to murmur amongst themselves, and some pointed at the Green Obelisk which floated in the sky. It felt so close, yet so far at the same time.
âWhat are you planning?â Samuel wondered as he stared at Skyler.
âI want to take a trip to the Obelisk and investigate it. In that book weâve read, a piece of the Obelisk fell down for that creature to collect. As it held onto that Obelisk fragment it bonded further and further. Perhaps if we travel to the area we can find Obelisk fragments to use to our advantage. Weâd be unrivaled and no one could hurt us.â
âWait, wait wait, how do we even know that weâll find fragments there?!â Neddy shouted out, âWhatever that means⌠What if itâs all just a waste of time? And who will stay behind to defend the camp?!â
âYou need not worry,â Skyler reassured Neddy, âEven if we do not find fragments there weâll get more information about the Obelisk, which is always a plus. Besides, people can stay behind to defend. I know I can count on Sunny, Paige, and Bobby.â
Sunny scoffed at the words, crossing her arms and looking away.
âOkay⌠Well I guess thatâs not that bad, huh?â Neddy replied.
âYeah, you donât need to worry, newcomer. Besides, you should relax. Take a break,â Skyler said as she signaled to the campfire, âCelebrate our success in completing the mission and talk with friends and have a good time. I know being sent here was hard on us all, itâs important that in moments of time like these we socialize and let loose a little. Have fun.â
The others muttered in agreement, and they all began to head to the campfire to just chill and hang out. Skyler let out a little yawn, and began to head back to her hut when Samuel grabbed her arm.
âWait. Skyler, isnât it?â
Skyler turned around with an annoyed look on her face.
âWhat is it?â
âI just wanted to ask you something,â Samuel asked, âHow did you know? How did you know my alliesâ implant attributes and use it to create the expedition teams?â
Skyler shrugged, showing her implant to Samuel.
âSimple. I just do this.â
A strange hologram manifested in front of her face, which had the words printed, âCHECKâ on it. Skyler pressed the button, and it blared red.
âUSER COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED.â
Skyler looked at Samuel with a soft smile, and the CHECK button flickers away from sight.
âYou donât have an implant, do you?â Skyler whispered with bright eyes. Samuel blinked his eyes, then shook his head.
âNo.â
âDonât worry, itâs okay I wonât tell,â Skyler reassured him, âYou are a clever man. You would be a great asset on our expedition to the Green Obelisk. Would you like to join our team?â
Samuel seemed to hesitate for a moment, but he knew he couldnât lose an opportunity like this. Any clue to escape this island was a chance that could not be taken away.
True story. So it started out when I stole a Crystal wyvern egg. I grabbed 2 because another egg was near by. Then boom out of nowhere the other wyverns come swooping in. I used the harpoon gun to net them down and get some rainbow crystals to feed the 2 baby wyverns that I j stole, and quickly fly back to my base with the 2 ember eggs. I start up my generator and hook it up to the egg incubator and pop them in. 1 egg is female and the 2nd one is male. A perfect breeding pair. I Wait a bit until the eggs are ready to hatch. I was very excited to hatch them since I am newer to ark and have never hatch one let alone tamed one. I hatch the egg and out pops a baby female ember crystal wyvern, or so I thought. I imprinted my baby wyvern and turn around to Check on the other egg that is still incubating. When to my surprise there are 2 more baby wyverns behind me. TRIPLETS. I freaked out a little but I didnât want to kill them for breeding purposes, but I started grinding the rainbow crystals to feed them. The boy still hasnât hatched yet becuase the last thing I need are more wyverns running around my greenhouse. Up this or baby wyverns will die
