Chapter 40: The Five
Part 1/3
“So, who are you taking for your party?” Skyler asked Samuel with a raised eyebrow. Samuel’s eyes darted to Aurora.
“Well. Aurora’s going. Obviously. She’s the navigator,” Samuel replied with a blank stare. Aurora looked up and smiled gently at the two. She seemed to be blushing.
“And then… Neddy and Ruby. Neddy could help detect the presence of humans with his implant, and Ruby is a master crafter who could definitely help us if we got in a pickle,” Samuel said. He looked around at the other members of the Book Club.
Rick had already served his purpose to Samuel. Giving him information. He didn’t need Rick anymore.
Bobby was just a builder.
And Simon’s infinite weight carrying was useful, but certainly not necessary with the help of a pack animal.
Paige didn’t seem to be a fan of Samuel. He didn’t think she’d cooperate with him if it came down to making sacrifices.
Gary? Gary was supposedly a skilled hunter. But his ideology seemed to be more grounded toward what Skyler thought. He would suffer the same situation as Paige.
Sunny’s ability wasn’t very useful.
And Ben?
Samuel looked at Ben, who was staring right back at him. Ben was sitting on a tree log and was tapping his foot against the grass impatiently. He was twirling a flower in his hand, and his left arm had many scars across, as if thorns had pricked them many times over.
“Unpredictable. I can’t let him on my party,” Samuel thought, his eyes glancing away. Samuel let out a sigh as he cracked his knuckles.
“Yeah and I think my last party member will be Star,” Samuel said, briefly remembering her strange enlightenment power.
“Star? It’s just a dodo bird though. What use would it serve in your party?” Skyler laughed, “You’re smarter than that Samuel.”
“SHE is more useful than you think,” Samuel replied with a smile, “And besides, she’s been around since the beginning here on this island. It’d be unhonorable to leave her.”
“Psh, okay then, whatever you say,” Skyler replied, the smirk fading away from her face.
Samuel united the team together, all Five of them gathered around in a circle.
“So, you remember the plan, right?” Samuel asked them all while crossing his arms.
“Yeah, yeah we do,” Neddy said with a grin, “Oh man we’re back on the road just like old times!”
“Psh, you’re saying that as if we’ve been at this camp for years,” Ruby giggled, elbowing him. Aurora looked down at Star and rolled her eyes.
“Samuel, don't tell me you’re bringing that thing again,” Aurora said.
“Sorry, but she’s coming along for the ride, whether you like it or not,” Samuel said. Star blew a raspberry at Aurora.
“Well, good luck, you… Five,” Skyler said with a soft smile. She suddenly seemed cheery. She was about to add something, but she stopped. Samuel turned around and began to walk off to the raft, which they’d use to sail up the river. Star hopped onto his shoulder, kicking Aurora in the face as she made her ascent. Aurora clenched her fist. Following the group was also Blueblaze (Samuel’s Raptor), and Goofy the Carnotaurus.
Skyler stared at Star with clenched fists. A CHECK button flickered within her vision, and she raised her fist, slamming it into the button.
“USER IDENTIFIED.”
As the hologram expanded, and Skyler stared at everything her power had to say, her eyes looked up at the leaving raft.
“So, THAT’S what you really are,” Skyler muttered under her breath.
And Ben stared at the raft that was coming out of sight, a sudden realization gaining on Ben what Samuel was trying to do.
“He’s trying to escape this island,” Ben thought with narrowed eyes. He smirked, standing up and putting his hands in his pockets. He looked at the flower in his breast pocket, blinking slowly at the sight.
“Thank you,” Ben told the flower. He looked up again at the river.
If that was Samuel’s plan, and he didn’t seem to care about having the Book Club join along the ride…
Ben would have to make him.
Once upon a time.... I was near the beach side as a lowly level barely starting out near herbivore island I found a little poop dino with blue feet waddling around on the beach. It was a Lystrosaurus and he was just having a good time I decided I wanted to tame this little guy and so I did. That is how Blue Socks joined the very small family I had. I spent time with him, played with him, pet him and all was well but one thing , he couldn’t ride my raft from one side of the river to the next so I needed by boy to swim as fast as his little legs could! I whistled for him to follow and I gave him a good petting before we swam, I then swam to the other side and awaited him on the beach side. Then out of nowhere blue lights began coming it was the evil jelly’s, but it was already to late I couldn’t save him they swarmed Blue Socks and all I could do is watch as he was electrocuted to death by a dozen Jelly’s. Kill them.... kill all the jelly’s, Rip and Tear till there is nothing left....
I used to have a Megalodon that was lvl 75, I was pretty proud of it, and I also recently tamed a lvl 50 male raptor, which is perfect for my lvl 60+ female raptors, my stupid brain said 'I don't have the patience to go around the island, so I went to the water with my raptor, long story short my raptor got killed by 4 of these Cnidaria mfs, and I brought my Megalodon and Sarco, they both got killed by the same 4 Cnidaria, and I lost all of my stuff.
Moral of the story: Never travel by water.
Bro these jellies made me trapped in mobile I was spawning on the beach and like 100 were surrounding my water and a lvl 80 baryonx was next to my spawn(near the red obelisk) was trapping me at my spawn and then a therizenosaur was in the spawn’s jungle and I was trying to reach the red obelisk but two raptors were really close but I died of falling like 2,000,000 from the red obelisk’s drop so I died of fall damage not the raptors BUT IF THOSE JELLYFISH WEREN’T THERE I COULD HAVE SWAM TO THE OBELISK (but i could maybe be eaten by a shark) BUT THOSE JELLYFISH ARE MORE OF JERKFISH! -a dude that uses creative mode a lot 🪼🗡️
MEGA KILLERS. They look cool, but they are DEADLY. I was looking around in the water and one APEARS BEHIND ME and kills me. I return to my death, IT ONCE AGAIN APEARS AND MURDERS ME. I FINALY KILL IT ON MY THIRD TRY. I GOT MY STUFF BACK!!!!!!!! I WAS SO HAPPY. If you find one, good luck

On the plains where the first battle of the war took place. Bob and the other major generals excluded general King and genreal bane stand at the grave of 5 star genreal/ Admiral Jack. His body was never discovered after his raft sunk benith the waves. However his gun that he carried during the battle was salvaged and put into the grave as a substitute. The war has now raged for almost a month and it has reached a bitter stalemate. Barely any movement on the north and a major INV victory near the green ob has caused both sides to intrench themselves until further notice. However out of all the fronts, the southern one is still active. Very active indeed and for all the solemness of Jacks funeral, bobs mind is elsewhere. He is waiting to receive word from bane. A victory in the south could change the course of the war. Or at least stop INV from invading for a good while. Meanwhile INV thinks the same as well. Who takes the south wins...
I feel like they should make the jellies not track and the follow you like a heat seeking missile. The dossier describes them as a passive jellyfish that floats aimlessly, and that would be TOATLLY FINE IF THEY REALLY DID THAT. These are supposed to be simple minded filter feeders, not blood thirsty killers. They don't even eat the meat why are they so aggressive, devs please nerf these dudes so they just float around in groups, I absolutely hate it when every single egg yolk knows when you enter the water, I know it's just a game, but this kind of detection is biologically impossible, jelly fish can only sense things that brush by their tentacles or move only a short distance away from them, they can't hear, or see, so tell me why these radioactive craps want anything to do with the deformed human trying to tame a dolphin. Please nerf, the ocean is so cool but its pretty much a death trap due to the jellies. They have nothing to gain. There is so much content and valuable stuff down there and yeah it's supposed to be dangerous, but we expect to be hunted by ancient sea predators, underwater titans, and the true horrors of the deep, NOT A GLOW IN THE DARK TRASH BAG. please at least lower their aggro range, yes real jellyfish are deadly, but they only kill the idiots who get too close and touch them, these things kill people because they hunt you down. I'm not saying remove them, but i just want them toned down. Thank you so much to every one who actually read my entire rant, have a great day.
I had a very bad experience with these about 3 years ago when I started to play ark I had a sarco I didnt know what they were when I first saw them so I went to kill them almost instantly i was shit off my sarco and just watched as my sarco was being shocked by them then it died. RIP scales
