If you sleep in Ark Mobile while they're swimming in water, they WILL drown. That's how I lost 4 Castoroides. RIP Cassie, Cate, Clarkson, and Cassie 2.0

For mobile player:

Just enable "wandering"

And he/she will gather more wood than just wait he sandle

If you set it to wander it gathers wood and thatch then comes back to you right before it gets encumbered, so they autofarm wood and thatch basically

Ignore all comments about wild castoroides being able to build giant beaver dams. They're making it up.

Giant beaver dams spawn alongside 2 Castoroides, so if you spawn in south zone 2 and see a giant beaver dam, kill all the castoroides plus some coelacanths, and you'll get another beaver dam plus 2 beavers, which again, you should kill plus some coelacanths to free up space for more giant beaver dams to spawn.

Wild giant queen bees can't build bee hives, so don't expect wild castoroides to be able to build giant beaver dams.

These beavers have become one of my most used "Dino". Their ability to hold wood at 25% weight and stone at 50% weight comes in handy when building. I recommend lvling weight and breeding high lvl beavers. Breeding is very easy. Once they are born and imprinted let them wander around bushes in a protected area. They will passively collect berries to their full weight capacity (full as in once they're grown). This means they are self sufficient even in the baby stage.

I found out how to get resources from this creature 100% safe, you'll need an arge with a saddle,grab the castoroides and take it next to your base if you live near the sea like I do , then just let him work and everytime you want to collect resources from his home just use normal tranq arrow he sleep after the 3-5 arrows when he wakes up he won't agro you (it's on easy mode gameplay,low lvl)

Eassyy wood hack, build a triangular pen with 3 STONE dino dino gateway and reinforced doors on each of them( make sure they are stone so as to take zero damage from beaver raging)

lead beavers into them (personally I used a argy to carry them in), and wah lah free wood and precious resource once in awhile

Make sure u leave enough space for u to fit thru to access its nest.

DO NOT TAME THEM, tamed beavers don’t produce nests

The wild beavers don’t have to be near a water body to produce nest btw, I have 2 wild beavers trapped on a hill far from river and they still produce fine.

Do you feel like they should produce cementing paste like a bee hive

In ark mobile, u can move a beaver to another area and it It will make dams. Just did it yesterday

Grab them with an argy and put them in your nearest lake

Hard to tame (need kibble) and has a oxygen stat after taming so it's harder to use as a collector for people in ocean bases. Tamed ones should be able to craft dams periodically😭

Put them into a gated off river and they will build a dam and easy cementing paste

Actually quite good fighters, my rank 20 is able to take out carnos and if you are near water, it can kill a Rex. Also very good transporters because of the weight reduction. I'm planning on getting 4 of them so I can have a squadron.

They make loot able dams and on average I have gotten 700 wood and at least 100 cementing paste from the dams they make so EZ resources for low level people, just watch out for them after looting the dams! They bite your toes if you do!

It gathers automatically so carry with an argy through trees for safe solo wood gathering

Get one n only lvl weight so later on you can craft ascendant stuff you'll want about 1.4k maybe more.

Best way to get resources from their dams is to

1) find a wild beaver

2) bring it to a water source closest to your base

3) let it wander around until it makes a dam

4) collect everything

5) manual save then leave and rejoin to make it not try to kill you

6) when you collect everything , destroy the dam and then wait until it makes another.

7) repeat for lots of resources

Also counts as a mobile smithy when you saddle him

I tamed of one castoroides and I killed two cnidaria for me they can actually kill those jelly fish .

Just drop a couple wild ones in a 4x4 stone pen and let them build their dams where you can raid them safely (after you destroy their original wild dam). But be sure to go 3 windows high or they will crawl out over top of the dams.
