They don't swim after taming. Mine drowned.

According to some people “ you can passive tame with wood”, No. it doesn’t work. You have to knock it out.

Insane for combat early game. I wasn’t paying attention and got jumped by a tickle chicken and started screaming. Steroids, Marcus, and Woody choppa came to the rescue and whooped that tickle chicken. They fear us to this day.

If you ever encounter a casteroids around, there is likely a dam nearby( it looks like a tent made of sticks). They contain lots of wood, cementing paste, and rare ingredients and resources(silica pearls, rare flowers and mushrooms). However, make sure you get rid of the beavers first, since they become aggressive if you loot the dam.

This fella takes nearly 200 narcotics to tame, and takes ages, be warned

Surprisingly, these things are terrifying, aggressive and somewhat powerful when you steal from their dams

How to tame

0. 100 NARCOTICS NEED TO BE MADE!(10 for truanq arrows)

Their saddle acts as a mobile smithy, team it up with a horse to get the ultimate travelling team. The horse saddle = a smithy and the beaver saddle = mortar and pestle so you can craft gunpowder while on horse, and then transfer that to the beaver, so you can make your grenades and such on the go.

How to build dam farm:

Needed:

12 foundations (preferably stone)

12-24 doorframe (preferably stone)

1)find an already existing dam

2)build a 3x3 box around the dam with fence foundations

3)place doorframe on top of the foundations;if the dam is underwater, put enough layers for the top doorframe to be out of the water

4)using an argie, pick up 2 to 3 beavers and drop them into the box. 2 is the minimum number needed for them to spawn a dam but I find that 3 works better. (note:if you want more dams, bring beavers from another spawn location as no more beavers will naturally spawn in that area. Its also preferable to build another box so they don't end up pushing each other out the top)

Dams will spawn around every 12 hours

Remember to not leave the items you don't want in the dam. Drop them so that the beavers can spawn a new one without having the dam demolish after a week.

Easiest and safest way to raid a beaver dam. Put a small cabin on a raft only need 3 walls a door way and a door and roof. Just drive over dam with raft and let the dam glitch up threw the bottom of the raft and then take off once u have emptied it

There is a simple way to get cementing paste off of these guys. You only need any flyer (I personally use a griffin) and a decent pike.

1. Whistle your flyer on follow

2. Find a couple beaver dams

3. Jump off your flyer and get the cementing paste

4. Drop anything you don’t want out of the dam

5. Jump back on your flyer and fly away

6. Come back and repeat

Do not kill or tame beavers if you want free cementing paste. if you kill them, you’ll have to go round killing everything else until more spawn, and if you tame them, same thing. If the beavers catch up to you in the water, stab them a couple times so their health is low and they start running away.

His saddle is a smithy,but make sure to have the materials in him to craft!

Quite possibly the most useful animals in the game imo. It is much more than a wood gatherer. It is a mobile smithy. Anything you can do on your smithy at the base you can do on your beaver. Repair tools, craft behemoth gates, etc etc.

For mobile player:

Just enable "wandering"

And he/she will gather more wood than just wait he sandle

So I was by a few dams and I decided to raid one so I took some of the stuff and no beaver came so I went back and took more stuff and no beaver came now I’m confused (I’m on ark mobile)
