A good thing I learned the other day. If u are in dangerous territory but need wood, pick up your beaver with an argentavis and fly towards the base of a tree. When you reach the tree fly slowly straight up the trunk and the beaver will collect the tree on its own. No need for wander or anything crazy. I suggest whistling neutral once your out and about incase some bugs get frisky. Rare but it happens.
More Castoroides Utility Tips
Empty out their wild dams if you want them to make new ones. No refills.
Relocate them to nearby river, pond, or sea and they will make dams if they survive. New ones will spawn in to replace the relocated ones.
Boxing them in on land near water will also force them to make dam in the box, but creature eventually despawns.
They know longer cut the weight of wood by 1/4. They reduced it to 1/2.
If you carry a wild Castoroides and put it in your waters it will make its own dam. Easy materials in bulk!
These things are amazing! If you find a wild one, then thatβs great because you can raid itβs dam for some cementing paste. Now, if you tame one, the beaver sadly wonβt make any dams. But, you can now harvest a bunch of wood with it if you put it on wandering or use a saddle. If you think itβs a bit dangerous running on the ground, let me introduce you to one of the greatest things in this game for gathering, auto-harvest. Just get an argentavis and itβs saddle, grab a tamed beaver, and go up to a tree and let the beaver hit it. ( Put on wandering for the beaver for it to work) This is way safer than being on the ground. To get way more wood, put some levels into melee and even weight if you want to. Auto-harvest also works with ankylosaurus and doedicurus.

To get stuff frot their dams place a sleeping bag, transfer the whole dam inventory then let them kill you. After respawning retake your stuff again, they dont attack you anymore.

Remember to always empty the dams even if your not taking everything with you bc they wonβt refill and wonβt respawn unless they are completely empty

This creature has a bonus where all wood placed on him will way significantly less. So Pitt all your wood on him
Wild castoroides sometimes build dams which can contain cementing paste, wood, silica pearls, rare flowers and mushrooms. But accessing the inventory of a dam will make the beavers angry so watch out!
