When taming I recommend killing other low levels before knocking it out. Also, when using tranqs run a short distance on land then turn and shoot if you do not want to be attacked.

Get a raft with a 4x4 room at least and open a dam to get them mad. Then drive the raft into them and sometimes they will glitch inside the room, perfect for singling off beavers when you don’t have an argie.

Just because u can't ride one doesn't make them worthless! Take him to a group of trees and set him to wander and he will harvest them for you, this is better than a metal hatchet for wood if you level his melee, I would tame one the moment I unlocked tranq arrows to make setting up a base easy!

For anyone having trouble with these guys (they do but pretty hard), use a bola or argy drop them into a pen. The bola works well for low levels. You will only get about 8 shots off with a snow, so bring extra bola for higher level tames.

Use kibble if you got it, very long tame and as stated, very very fast tupor drop.

Got one last night and he died after a lovely troodon attack...anyway its not fun taming these guys torpor drops ungodly fast so understand while taming him youll be staring at him 90% of the time instead of doing other things. They are unreal with wood gathering mine had 400 weight points and i have a stego with over 600 yet this guy literally carried at least 3x what my stego could. Theyre quick on land and amazingly fast underwater. Ps kibble is a must and you need way more narcos than what this app says i used close to 400 i believe for a lvl 20

If you have a base at the hidden lake that isn’t blocking spawns, they are regulars around there. I got my first one there, still haven’t got to saddle level though

Beavers when killed give you an odd amount of pelt good for beginners who can make a cage and lour them in then shoot them with bow. Also when you tame a beaver you may set it on wandering and it collects wood for you

I find best to tranq dart and starve tame and i will say buying kibble or making it is worth it. Gallimimus kibble this can saive an hour or two. If you're looking for one go south zone and where there is a beaver dan there is usually a beaver. Quickly grab the stuff from the beaver dam this will agro the casteroides . Either pick it up with an argie or run and shoot. I havent actually tested a bola on them but they look small enough, good luck. Its a high reward after taming these B- Gates werre times easier

You can find their dams by rivers going out to ocean, unless youre on a server where small tribes build right where they spawn

Can be carried by a quetzal and will gather wood at the same time! Just drive it up to the tree and use x (default) to stop the quetzal! Make sure the castoroides is close to the tree. Takes a little practice but once you get it down it's easy!

Put them on wandering in a box and that will make a dam

Tamed a carchar just to kill those things muahahaha (evil laugh) kept one trapped for cementing paste, thats slavery at its finest

for the guy that said trap them instead taming them for dams, i tried it and it didn't work. made 3 or 4 and no dams

100% Recomended to farm wood, it has a 50% weight decrease for wood and tahtch on his inventory, if you are playing ARK Mobile Ultimate, the tame rate for local singleplayer is x2.5
