Any crops are suggested. These guys can be even tamed when low-level, about the point in your levels 20+.

You can find these guys at or around a river with a beaver dam.

Not to beat a dead Equus, but a lvl 10 took 50 narcotics and 250 berries....at least...and that is with 3x taming...

Step one get stimulants as they spawn near swamps and there can boas,

Step two go to a beaver respawn zone

Step three this is optional; a fast mount

Step four locate beaver

Step five locate beaver creek

Step six open creek and quickly loot everything(don’t grab wood as it will slow you down)

Step seven run away and watch all their hard work become yours

One time I started heading to the Redwoods to get a Thyla and I was on my Baryonx and a Castoroide showed up and when I started attacking it then my Baryonx ran away and left me to deal with it.

These things are strong, and can take a full sarco, if I spelt that correct. If you have one chasing you, get it near this beaver and wait a minute, then free prime meat!

Tip for if you are harvesting beaver dams on singleplayer don't kill all the beavers only kill some or none otherwise it will take way longer for the dams to reappear -ofren

How do you get a trap?

Trap it in a box build of railings with a gate, then shoot it from the outside it worked for me.

Castoroides are passive. If you see one check the immediate area for beaver dams. Beaver dams give you wood, cementing paste, and rare mushrooms/flowers. Beaver dams offer one of the fastest cementing paste gathering rates in the game. Once you open a beaver dam all castoroides become hostile so be quick. When you grab cementing paste from the beaver dam inventory make sure to dump all the wood or excess thing you will not collect. This is important because more cementing paste will not spawn once it's taken, a new dam needs to be created. By dumping all items the beaver dam is destroyed and a new one will be created later. Wild beavers are not worth killing. They offer little pelt if any and leave a mean bite.

Build a small cage that includes water and land, pick a wild one with the argie and drop it in the cage and let it build a dam. Then throw a bola at them and take the stuff out of the dam and get out of the cage

To find in Fjordur, you must go to Asgard realm. They are all along the river directly next to the red obelisk you spawn into

Though they won’t build dams after being tamed they will collect wood if left on wondering.

Need some junk go loot one for yourself see the torture they put you through! They are obviously spoiled brats they don’t like to share!

there torpor drains fast i remember i was taming then i used my norcatics and norcatic berrys i waited until i was out of narcotics and berrys then it wakes up happily with berrys i wasted my norcatics use 100 norcotics to tame this

I must be luckey. Cause. I raided 3 dams and killed like 21 of them and i breszed that fight.

If you want them to build dams when tamed make them wander around you'll see they will cut trees for you

One almost killed me but I recovered and tamed one when my sarco died

Knocking these out is easy but you should try to watch out for your surroundings while you tame it.
