What are tips for castoroides? Tips and strategies for castoroides in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Great for collecting cementrical past
These guys are relentless! They will chase you like you own them money if you open the inventory of their dams. Your best option is to take everything in the dam and let yourself die and come back for the loot.
The best way to tame this beast is to pick it up with a argy and if you have a trap it's very easy to knock out it then feed him carrots and feed him biotoxic
If you have a wyvern or an argentavis, pick up one of castoroides with it and place it into a little trap (my trap was just 2 wooden foundations and stone walls) and just tranq them there.
I would suggest that you bola it and trank it fast because I tried bolaing it and punching it and it broke free.
Pick up with an Argy then drop in an enclosure and knockout. Don't leave it unattended! The torpor goes down very, very fast.
How to tame: Castoroides
Preferred food: Crops
Preferred kibble: Superior Kibble(extraordinary works too)/Gallimimus Kibble (mobile)
Difficulty - 3/10
Castoroides are wonder tames that can gather wood with amazing efficiency, saddled or not. Castoroides are small and fairly fast and can be found in lakes and rivers.
You will need:
• Bola (Take a stack or two in case it breaks free or has friends)
● Tranq arrows (Use darts for high levels)
• Narcoberries/narcotics (try to bring as much as possible - 200 Narcotics for example)
● Taming food
• Spike walls to protect from Sarcos and Raptors
How to tame
• Place sleeping bags near the Castoroides just in case you die
● If a dam is present, open it and bola all Castoroides that aggro to you.
• Proceed to knock out with tranqs/clubs, fists are not recommended for higher levels
● Feed the Castoroides and watch its torpor - it drops fast
○ If the Castoroides is a higher level, chances are it will take a while to tame, so surround it in spike walls.
• Have fun with your beaver!
The easiest way to tame it is very simple
1:slingshot 25 stone 1 bola berries and narcotic
2: bola it and shoot it with the slingshot and knock it out
3: feed him berries and narcotic so he doesn’t wake up
Hope this was helpful
This is the best creature you can have to carry wood long ways just get an Argentavis and pick him up now you can fly and carry tons of wood and fly easy back to your base. One problem that you have to drop him right next to the tree and ride it so you can get over weight and you don’t have to go beck every few steps becouse you can load him by your self
How to safely farm beaver dams:
Step 1: Make a stone enclosure (preferably 3×3 or larger and 2 walls high) a little bit away from spawn zones
Step 2: Using an argy, place beavers in the enclosure. May be a little tricky if they're swimming.
Step 3: Enjoy farming cp, mushrooms, flowers, etc.
Step 4: Return the beavers to their natural habitat
One of these bad boys can collect 200 wood and 50 thatch from one tree. If you upgrade the damage enough times it will turn into a chainsaw. Can take down 2 carnos easily. I have 2 of them and they harvest wood dam well. Knocking them out is easy but make sure you have like 50 narcs and 25 mejoberries they don’t get hungry very often. If you don’t need wood just out them next to your base as defense.
Their dams give really good supplies like Pearls, cementing paste, mushrooms, etc. Put a bed near the beaver dam, go collect your items from the beaver dam, watch yourself die. Then respawn at the bed and collect your items from your dead body. Otherwise if you go up to a beaver dam and try to get supplies they're just going to kill you and you'll lose your stuff. If you bring a dino, leave it on passive as the beavers are very vicious and can easily kill anything especially since they're in groups.
I only needed 3 Gallimimus Kibbles for a level 35, not 4 as it says.
If you want this creature you have to build a trap you need to make a trap for the creature and when you build the trap you have knock down you can use a tranquilizer to knock and when you do feed berries but if it’s too long you can wait and you cannot feed it until it’s about to starve and when you knock it again you have to feed the berries and it’ll be faster hope it helps
DONT LISTEN TO THE PERSON WHO SAID KILL THESE FOR PELT EARLY GAME THESE BEAVERS DEAL TONS OF DAMGAE AND HAVE HIGH TORPOR AND LITTLE PELT SO DONT KILL THEM EARLY ON!
For Ark Mobile;
-If you want a passive wood supply, don’t tame them. Just let them be and they’ll build a dam (just make sure to pull out all the needed resources like wood, rare flowers, silica pearl, Cementing Paste, etc) so that they can make another dam. But a tamed Castoroide, just put them on wonder and carry them with an Argy and get close to a tree (recommend to level up melee and also weight on your Castoroides). It’s like having a Doedic but it gathers wood :) Hope this helps.

I went through two stacks of narcoberries make sure to stack up a bunch
