I swear I love this thing!! I was walking around on my equus, and I see a beaver dam! I have my legit unstoppable pack of barys behind me and I check the dam inventory. I find 700 wood , SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY CEMENTING PASTE THAT A LEGIT NEED LIKE A LOT OF, And a bunch of rare flower that I put in front of my creature graves π. And then I found ANOTHER one!! I'm like OMG same amount of stuff and same kind of stuff , but then I hear fighting , and like 6 beavers are gangin up on my baryonyx pack , I knock them all out with equus buck kick nd tame! wander and aggressive, imma rule this game π
More Castoroides Utility Tips
They know longer cut the weight of wood by 1/4. They reduced it to 1/2.
If you carry a wild Castoroides and put it in your waters it will make its own dam. Easy materials in bulk!
These things are amazing! If you find a wild one, then thatβs great because you can raid itβs dam for some cementing paste. Now, if you tame one, the beaver sadly wonβt make any dams. But, you can now harvest a bunch of wood with it if you put it on wandering or use a saddle. If you think itβs a bit dangerous running on the ground, let me introduce you to one of the greatest things in this game for gathering, auto-harvest. Just get an argentavis and itβs saddle, grab a tamed beaver, and go up to a tree and let the beaver hit it. ( Put on wandering for the beaver for it to work) This is way safer than being on the ground. To get way more wood, put some levels into melee and even weight if you want to. Auto-harvest also works with ankylosaurus and doedicurus.
My last tip was on the ichthyosaurus

To get stuff frot their dams place a sleeping bag, transfer the whole dam inventory then let them kill you. After respawning retake your stuff again, they dont attack you anymore.

Insane for combat early game. I wasnβt paying attention and got jumped by a tickle chicken and started screaming. Steroids, Marcus, and Woody choppa came to the rescue and whooped that tickle chicken. They fear us to this day.
This creature has a bonus where all wood placed on him will way significantly less. So Pitt all your wood on him
Wild castoroides sometimes build dams which can contain cementing paste, wood, silica pearls, rare flowers and mushrooms. But accessing the inventory of a dam will make the beavers angry so watch out!
Seems to harvest more wood per hit than a mammoth, but the mammoth has better weight reduction, so just get your hairy-elephant to follow your splinter-mouse. Now admire the open plain where a proud forest once stood and laugh uncomfortably.
Everyone. TAMING OR KILLING THESE MFERS DOESNT MATTER THE GAME WILL RESPAWN MORE. Also when you take stuff out of the dams, dump the rest of the stuff out to destroy the dam. They wonβt fill the dam again until itβs destroyed. Nobody likes opening a damn to find a bunch of wood!!!!
A castoroid will collect wood from trees if it's on wandering.
