What are tips for carcharodontosaurus? Tips and strategies for carcharodontosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
They are the same as the giga so if u see one it is certain deayh unless u have about 30 levels into movement speed
Not going to lie, my Carcher was the one of the easiest things I’ve ever tamed, lol.
For the first taming stage, it is based on drag weight. A baby Rex is good for getting 100% trust. Keep more than one dead baby Rex on hand. If it’s trapped, sometimes it will bug out and it won’t get the friend bar after eating it. Either try again if you have enough baby Rexes to spare, or leave render, come back, and try again.
The second taming stage is based off max health of the Dino you kill. It doesn’t matter how much health that Dino has lost, just what the max health is. Baby brontos work very well for this because they have a high max health at high levels, have low health when hatched, and don’t fight back.
The first thing is to find your carchar. I play on 5x taming at level 9 (max Dino level being 270), that roughly equates to 3x taming at level 5. Do be aware that anything less than 5x taming speed will kick you off when you reach a certain percent of taming. At 1x it’s 20%, 2x 40%, 3x 60%, and 4x 80%. This scales with taming level, not difficulty level. If you’re playing on anything less than 5x, have someone else there with you because you will need to bring it back to the trap and re-trap it before being kicked off at whatever percent and whatever taming. To put it like this: if you are on 1x settings, bring it back to the trap before reaching 20% and continue to chomp on things while in the trap until you are kicked off. You’ll need to feed it another Rex to make it friendly again. If you get kicked off due to running out of time, you will lose a large chunk of taming effectiveness. If you get kicked off because of blood rage or percentage, you will lose very little taming effectiveness. If you fat finger and dismount you’ll lose a good chunk of taming effectiveness.
Once you have your carchar and you know your settings, breed together Rexes for babies, and ideally some at or near max level brontos. Next, using either a dimetredon, otter, ac units, or the egg incubator, incubate the eggs until they have about a minute left on the timer. Pick them up/remove them. If you don’t remove it from the egg incubator in time just pick up the structure and they will drop in a bag. Put all your Rex eggs and bronto eggs on a flying Dino with a high weight stat (argys and dreadmares are good for this, if you want you can put it on a different Dino and black hole that Dino if you have a dreadmare and don’t want to worry about weight)
At your trapped carchar, build some two by two foundation squares with decent spacing. Place railing on three sides. I usually build anywhere from 5-10 of these, depending on the level of the carchar. Using an ac unit (you’ll need a generator with gasoline to run it), otter, or dimetredon, throw out 5-6 bronto eggs into each pen and hatch them all the way. Do this before you do your Rex eggs. When all your baby brontos are out, hatch your Rexes and claim the one you are going to shoot. It stops the rest of the babies from fleeing. Bring your bay over to the carchar and feed it. Pick up one of the gate traps and immediately hop on, don’t let it attack any of the babies yet. If it does, it will raise the blood rage but not the taming meter. You’ll have to wait for it to go back down. Go to the first pen and eat the baby brontos there. Keep an eye on your rage and taming meter, and how much the babies in that pen raised it. That will give you a rough estimate on how many you can eat before you have to wait for it to go down again, like if six babies brought your taming to 15% and your rage to 26, you can chomp on 12 more babies before having to wait to chomp again and bring your taming to 30% (if you’re on 1x rates you need to go back to the trap). If you’re on anything below 5x, bring the carchar back to the trap and have someone bring things to you to chomp on. Ideally you want to be kicked off due to percent or blood rage. Wear good armor for the tame so that if it decides to nibble at you, you don’t get one tapped.
(This is a solo tip idk how it would go in PVE or PVP) not that hard of a tame actually, it basicaly only take a baby apex creature (rex, spino, yuty etc...) to allow you to mount it, my first Carcha was a lvl 25 and i was level 32, i tamed 2 really low level spinos, made them breed, mercilessly killed their offspring, dragged it to the Carcha, the beast sniff the corpse giving you time to take some distance off of it, and once it eat its meal you mount ! Then you kill everything in your path, took me only one run with some hit taken (91% effectiveness) but i managed to get this wonderfull beast, though now its kinda useless because i can't ride her...
But technically you can get a Carcha really soon in the game, rex are kinda easy to tame for the SACRIFICE !
I don't know why (and it's also like this for giga for me), when i tame them they always have 50% melee not 100%.
Use the votes to indicate if this happens to you as well. (This is ark survival evolved on custom settings)
How to tame a Carcha with the Equus Hunter
1. Get a baby yuty, or Rex
2. If you have galli’s line them up and unclaim them
3. Ride the Carcha and kill the galli’s
4. Success! You now have a Carcha!
5. Make the saddle!
Gl and hope it helped!
Ok, I literally cannot find this thing anywhere😕 I’m currently on the Island and I can’t find any of these. Someone please help😭
Wonder where it will spawn on the maps.
NINTENDO SWITCH BUG
The first time you throw out a newly tamed carch put your stuff in a chest then throw out the newly tamed carch because when you throw the cryo all your stuff will disappear and your character will be messed up but this Glitch only applies to the first time you throw your carch out of the cryopod so you can freely cryopod your carch after
Can someone please tell me where they spawn on ragnarok? I neeed one 🥲
Bro if you have a good rhynio killing one should be a breeze. I killed one HEAD ON with my rhynio that has 16k health and 600% melee. I was landed in front of him and spammed attack while he hit me back. And i STILL WON. For a higher level i wouldnt suggest taking it head on as the damage output is worlds apart from a low level. It will take a good 20 minutes but you can kill it in the air with relative ease. Btw i also was using a primitive rhynio saddle so this victory was purely because of my rhynio’s stats and no outside stuff.
It's not a ko tame bring trikes to it and rexs
Um, shouldn’t all large carnivores be tamed this way, logically? Instead of shooting them with 100+ arrows/darts tipped with drugs so that they get knocked unconscious and then you somehow force meat down their throat?
Not asking anyone to change anything, but it is curious to me. Carch is the only one getting fair treatment here.🤣
Does this Dino require a saddle
Everyone says use baby Rex which is true but if you are playing asa then don’t bother breeding Rex’s like they say simply find a wild one with a baby kill it imprint to lead it closer to char ha then kill it and feed this also works with diplo if your on 2x server rates
if you don’t have a a pair of breeding rexes yet, you could also use yutys for 100%
Keep in mind if you find one of these and it sees you, you are very dead.
So, here are some dinos that give 100% trust: Rex, Spino, Bronto, wyvern, and a Giga. Best options will be Rex, or Bronto, because they take longer to be harvested by dragonflies. If you find a carcha above 130 (I've found yesterday, on 15 February 2025 a beatiful Carcharo on 145), YOU HAVE to tame
