I tamed these but you need lots of berries because it will consume all your berries! Don't kill but almost kill it then put loads of berries in it's inventory.

Here's the easiest way to tame a turtle:

Step 1: Find one(check beaches)

Step 2: Use a slingshot to get it to chase you, because headshots are the most effective way to knock it out (bring no less than 40 stones)

Move backwards while shooting it, and once it gets a little too close, turn around, run a little farther away and repeat. Once you get it to begin running, walk parallel to it and continue to aim for the head. You have to aim a little bit ahead of it so the stones hit their mark. Repeat until unconscious. Feed mejoberries(the purple ones) as it prefers those over the other kinds. Wait a while, make sure it doesn't wake up or get attacked.

Step 3: Enjoy your new turtle!

Just use a bow and back away slowly if it comes closer sprint and keep shooting it when it is near 100 hp use a sling shot

You can ride them without a saddle by simply jumping onto their back. This works with both tamed and wild carbos.

Extra: you can whistle a carbo around to get it to move where you want if you don't have a saddle

at the time im writing this i am level 17 i tamed one of these guys they are very good for base defending keep in mind i was in my single world a baryonx attacked my base i was standing on top of this turtle before it attacked i then charged with my spear and the turtle soaked up most of the dmg in the end the bary died the turtle standing on 82 health and me repairing my armor

I don't know why people think it's so hard to knock them out, just get thank arrows and run away from it turn around and shoot, they are very slow so shout be a problem, if you want one and dont have thank arrows get a few shields (only worked for low levels unless you got some friends and hope doesn't die) hit it with a club protect with the shield from it's attack and soon it hits the shield hit it again, remember could take a long time if high level.

I Was battling a turtle with my turtle to tame male turtle I broke my leg so my turtle killed male turtle.

You can find it at a water area (I found it at the edge of the map). To knock him out, for starters, use a slingshot. When he is down bring your narcotics and berries. If he is unconscious and you fear he will wake up, punch him a few times to keep him like that. Congrats, you now have tamed a Carbonemys. Hope this helped.

Side note: if you want to be safe, through a bola and hit him with a bat to knock him out.

Super Easy! You craft a wooden club or any knocking-out weapon (I used a bow and tranq arrows) and hit them, the head and the legs are the best spots to strike. After it has been knocked out, put around 20-30 berries into it’s inventory. And after a few minutes, enjoy your new underwater tank! :)

The best place to find these guys is hands down on the beach. They’re everywhere on the shore and you’ll even see them out in the water a bit, just make sure you don’t knock it out while it’s still in the water (bad things will happen). Be careful about taming them though, because if there are multiple in the area they will all attack you once you aggro one of them. (1/148)

Well as fishes tank you when you hit it

It’s an easy tame to do as a starter I once tamed one at level 2 there very good they act as a natural frige so store barries and meat to make them last longer

Solid early-game tame. Easy to get without having any tames, but can easily tank most beach-dwellers while hauling resources.

The best way to tame high drain rate creatures is with bio toxin: These turtles farm it safely, and also help you knock things out (you can shoot stuff with tranq arrows/darts from it’s back while it soaks up enemy attacks) - all around very useful low level tame. Trike becomes better at some of it, but they can still farm jellyfish like pros.
