Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a basilosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a basilosaurus.
To take this beast, you need to be on a icthy, mantas will flee at the sight of you feeding the creature.
In order to tame a Basilosaurus you need a croosbow and an acuatic mount that's enough strong to deal with mantas.
When you have all of this just shoot to a manta that's near the Basil and all of them will attack you, and here you wil pick the your crature and kill all of them.
Once you slayed all the mantas go with the Basil and start taming him pacificly.
Be careful because each time you feed it nearby cratures will come at you.
Have a tribe mate and have your own ichthyosaurus and have the tribe mate have one too.
1.find a basil of you choice.
2.have ur tribe mate aggro the mantras away.
3.check your basil out and feed it.
4.keep having your friend get away the mantas.
5.keep feeding it until you have your very own (or maybe not own maybe you'll share with your tribe mate) basilosaurus
Roughly 8 min between 1st and 2nd feeding of a 140 x-basilo
The basilosaurus on genisis part 1 usually don’t have mantas following them , and if they do it’s usually 1 or 3. Making them much safer to tame on genisis 1
I saw my first Whale in the bay of Herbivore Island, I was like, hey, it’s a whale, i don’t have any proper sea tames (I had a sarco but that doesnt count) so I got raw prime and fed it that, I ran out of raw prime, Omygod omygod. I used normal raw and the taming bar DIDN’T GO DOWN! So basically I skipped the sharks and Ichthys and went strait for the Basilosaurus. IT IS AWESOME! I highly recommend a whale and they are very common around herbivore island (heck, there’s a new one in the bay now)
Always tame these guys riding a dolphin! They hang out with megs and mantas, and they will attack you if you’re not riding a dolphin!
It will start to lose tame bar for some reason and if that happens you may aswell give up :(
Couldn't use the Sangine Elixir at any point during taming, not sure if its because of being underwater prevents you from using the elixir or just the creature.
These are laughingly easy on mobile with the power of Dolphin (itchyosaurus)
Dolphins are the chillest creatures in the ocean because literally nothing attacks it unprovoked, and mantas still will not care if u feed said Basil-O
The taming interval is actually correct. For some reason ark is buggy so you have to exit render distance like with carcharos. I tested this myself.
First time I tryed it was killed by megs on the way home second time I had 5 itchys and we made it next to my home but then megs killed all my itchys and the baslio (should have brought my megs too but I did not)
RIP pointy, fast, buddy , new dude, and ,hater (the itchy crew)
Produces oil in it's inventory. Destroys those annoying jellyfish.
When it comes to taming this guy, I personally like to hop on a high level spino. The spino easily deals with anything surrounding the basil, and then go ahead and start feeding it. I use kibble, it's a pretty fast tame, but the time between the first and second feeding feels like forever.
Taming this is a must imo, had it been able to swim in the deep without taking damage, it woulda been OP!
They are shock resistant to the els
I tamed one with an ichthy XD i just herded all the mantas, megas and others away by crossbowing em and it was left alone for an easy tame. Ez Pz.
I was trying to tame one. I just used a icthyiosaurus (however it is spelt) it took a couple of trips to the surface but it worked.
Mutton taming isn’t quite accurate. Was waiting for about 8 minutes between first and second feed, but once that was out of the way it did seem like 8 seconds between feeding. Also watch out for Manta’s after killing the original pack, as they can attract to the basi if it swims close enough to them.
The thing with these archaeocetes is that they do not spawn at shallow waters yet not very deep either. And to make things worse, they can attract harems of hostile manta rays and ichthyosaurs to "feed on its leftovers" as mentioned in the dossier
Overall, make sure to bring one of your powerful water mounts to the spot, as you'll have to fight those off
They provide shock and temperature resistance, yet take damage at certain altitudes below the water
