Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a basilosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a basilosaurus.
Takes ages to feed after the first time but after that it is nearly instant worth taming as they have high weight and good damage bit they are usually followed by 20 mantas so taming can be difficult
I don’t know what everyone else did but In my experience the Icythaurus or whatever the dolphin is called, still gets attacked. Everything is chasing me on it. Sure I can out run everything but the tips here made it sound like you would get ignored.
Also, someone said you could tame it from the saddle you can’t you have to dismount.
Now this is all PS4.
So best bet is to have 2 - 3 people 1 to feed and the others to agro and lure away the mantas and megs.
Icys are fastest in my experience. So best bet to bait away and dart in and out.
Dodex fix your stuff takes like 5 mins for hungry again
Kill all the mantas with a baryonix and feed it meat when its hungry. Easy but op underwater tame. Hope i helped someone
To tame the basilosaurus it's a passive tame so kill every thing around it and start feeding it
Discovered this by accident, but a Sinomacrops will scream at and scare away all the mantas that surround the Basi. Not required, but the easiest way I found was to set my Sino to have "auto scream" enabled and "scream requires aggro" disabled. When you get semi close it'll scream which will make all, or most of the Mantas flee for long enough to feed the Basi. Hope this helps and happy whaling!!
If only it had a horn then it could be a narwhal
I would take a barryonyx to tame basilosaurus mainly because of the rays.
Sweats oil, attracts water critters, jellyfish slayer, looks adorable. best tame.
But…
DONT USE IT FOR MOSA / PLESI TAMING. mosasaurs and plesiosaurs usually if not only spawn in the abyss and your poor whale sausage will get compressed down there.
Never ever get too close when taming on mobile, you’ll get bugged inside of it and drown.
Rare Flowers affect the Basilo (slightly inconsistently) allowing you to kite it into your own water pen for a super safe, even easier tame involving much less swimming about. Seems to require you to eat at least 2 flowers to trigger the aggro effect, and it loses aggro the second the effect ends.
I got lucky and was able to find one of these things without mantas near it in the shallows of Herbivire Island...thank goodness, do not use fish meat!!
For the peeps that asked,
Mantas like the basilos cuz it says in the dossier that they make a mess when eating so mantas are kinda like scavengers that eat the left overs
After the first feed, it will take a long time to want to be fed again. Don’t worry. Just follow it around and keep it safe. After a while, it will want to be fed again and it will progress according to the time intervals on the app.
So I found this guy at a island where herbivores spawned I had some prime meat I feed it and I tamed it once it is tamed everything attacks it
Bring baryonx it stubs mantas
I tamed mine with a baryonyx to kill the manta bodyguards. The time between the first and second feeding interval takes a while, so sit back and grab some coffee while you wait. Regular meat will do as after the second feeding, the interval is only about 10 seconds. Make sure you keep all Megalodons and other mantas away from it while taming. I absolutely love mine for alpha killing and bio toxin farming. Also they get a crap ton of hit points per level up, almost 400.
It's best to get a baryonyx to stun and kill every manta around it
Is not affected by Cnidaria or electrophorus shocks, this in addition to its surface healing makes it a great mount
I tamed one of these of a 170lvl by feeding it raw meat and using a soothing balm. You had better use a soothing balm on high/med levels like mine but the taming process drops, so that's why you should use one. PRO TIP: Basilosauruses (Wild/Tamed) can automatically produce oil, so tame one! It will be really useful! Personally, I love these sea sausages, they are really useful and lovely!!!
