What are some stories about the basilosaurus? Memorable basilosaurus stories, wild encounters, and fan fiction.
Lost my spino trying to tame this guy.
I play on ark mobile and when I saw the large whale creature near herbivore Island I thought it would be a cool tame. It was a passive tame so I thought it would be fine. But the problem was it was surrounded by mantas.. a lot of mantas. After I tried feeding it I got killed by the mantas so on my next go at taming it I brought my ichthyosaurus and my sarco and my spino the ichthy to keep up with it and the spino and sarco were for protection as I was unaware that mantas won't attack you if your on an ichthy. The sarco went down first after a long fight and then right as I thought it was safe cause my spino had killed everything in a several hundred foot radius more and more mantas kept spawning and megas hit the basilo so I lost the tame progress. After a while of fending off countless mantas my spino died... I rage quit after that only just got back into the game.
The story of Basil and Riptide. Ridtide was the local bary menace of Footpaw. Being such the menace he was I decided to tame him. him being very close to my base I did not want to risk losing any tames. on the Ark wiki it says that barys are good for whale taming. And hence forth I looked for a basilo. I find one and start killing all the mantas with Riptide. He slaughters all of them. The basilo did not want to be tamed. It kept diving very deep into the water and I was not high enough level to make scuba gear. Riptide slaughtered any megas that came near him. After a long night of watching the stubborn whale keep dipping further and further into the cold ocean. It finally floats it’s way up to the surface. I mount Riptide and start shoving food down it’s snoot. It starts doing the stupid deep dive again but I still followed it down. After 4 dead megas and one dead manta I have a new friend! Basil the basilo! Then they both promptly die from a pack of 5 megas after I tried taking them back home.
So I was trying to tame this thing on my dolphin but every single manta and shark attack me and killed my dolphin.I died and respawned to get my sarco to tame another dolphin but that died too.I respawned AGAIN and got my bary to kill everything just for revenge but a jellyfish got to it and the mantas finished it🫠 I lost all of the saddles and my stuff so I hate the ocean now.
Toxic Tales: Chapter 14
The Arena
Asclepius raised his head off the cold stone floor, he looked around at the stone surrounding him, the only places without any stone was a small window blocked by metal bars and a wall made of metal bars, it was a dark hallway, it was massive, big enough for a rex to walk through without ducking. On the other side was another wall of metal bars and a dark cell. Suddenly he heard a roar from behind him, he turned around and peered through the bars into a large, flat, arena with a dome made of metal bars over it. On each of the far sides was a large doorway, the doorways were pushed open by groups of humans and large carts pulled by equus, the carts had a cage on them, each one with a different creature inside it. One had a scar-covered carno and the other had a pair of deinonychus in it. Humans did something to the door of the cage, swinging it open, letting the creatures out. The carno charged the deinonychus, ramming one into the wall and biting its neck. The second deinonychus jumped onto the carno's side, who bashed it against the wall, and pinned it to the ground with its foot. Asclepius looked away, "where am I?" He asked.
"In the arena, you'll be here awhile," said a voice from the cell across the hall.
"Who are you, and why am I here?" Asclepius replied.
"I'm a velonasaur, my name doesn't concern you, and you're here because those humans love watching us fight, specifically to the death." The velonasaur stepped into the little light in his cell, revealing the long, deep scar running down his snout and multiple other scars over his face, "I've been here awhile, hopefully, we don't meet in the arena, something tells me you won't leave that arena."
"Why do you fight? Can't you just not fight?"
"If I did that then the humans would kill me, and I'd like to live thank you. Oh, look at that, looks like someone's going to the arena, have fun!" A large cart was pulled into the hall and a human opened Asclepius's cell, another pointed a wood and metal thing at his face. The first poked his leg with a sharp stick, he stepped into the cage, which was closed behind him. It was pulled into the arena, where he heard a baryonyx roar, then a click, a chirp, and then the door swung open.

Chapter 38: Assembly
Part 1/2
“Alright, I know I know,” Chris said as he scratched the head of his pet dodo, “They’ll be back soon. You’ll make a friend soon enough.”
The dodo lifted its beak up into the air, before collapsing to the ground again. Chris sighed and looked around. Bobby and Simon had returned from their metal trip, and they seemed to be bursting in conversation over some sort of egg.
On the other side of the camp he spotted Gary cleaning the barrel of his pistol out. Lynx had its legs sprawled out, and it let out a big yawn. And of course, Ben was nowhere to be seen.
He sighed again, staring at the two small buckets that lay at his feet. One was filled with a sticky, gray paste and the other a green runny substance. Achatina paste and organic polymer.
“I’ve been doing nothing but picking this stuff up since the camp was created,” Chris wearily thought, “I want to do something more. To prove I’m more than just a reader.”
Chris clenched his fist, and suddenly he heard the pattering of footsteps across the soft grass. He looked up and saw the gate slowly opening up. Chris reached for his bow, but stopped as he saw the familiar recruit known as Samuel enter the gates with the rest of the expedition team following closely behind.
Everyone seemed to have made it back safely.
But something was off. The mood was somber and nobody seemed too pleased.
Chris looked around the crowd, and concluded everyone was safe and sound. So no one had died, but why did everyone seem so upset? Even the tames looked really angry, and they didn’t know emotion.
Special Raptor was distanced from Skyler, who had a nasty frown across her face. Chris didn’t know what happened to her, but, at that moment Chris felt really bad.
“Why is she so sad?” Chris thought. Chris noticed Gary rush up to the crowd with joy on his face.
“Ah ha! You made it back! So did the plan work-”
Gary paused as he saw Skyler’s frown. He suddenly turned white.
“Where’s… Where’s Sunny?!” Gary asked with shrunken pupils.
“Right here,” Sunny called out. She was carrying some weird thing in her hands and was riding Stream the Kaprosuchus. “And it didn’t go well, if you were wondering.”
Rick scratched his blonde hair.
“It was an accident, Sunny.”
“Don’t care. It was dumb to think that this book of Skyler’s was the TRUE story. That Obelisk almost had us killed. And it almost blew Rick’s brains out in the process.”
Skyler looked down at the ground with shame, and Samuel noticed this. He looked at Sunny with a solemn look in his eyes.
“It’s okay Sunny. It was a genuine mistake. Now Skyler knows that she was wrong, and it’s okay to be wrong. All that matters is that we’re all safe,” Samuel said. He turned to everyone else. Bobby and Simon seemed to be surprised by the news.
Samuel cleared his throat, before announcing,
“Attention folks! Let’s gather at the campfire. Starting now, we have a new plan.”
Gary, Bobby, and Simon made their way to the campfire, while the rest of the humans followed, Skyler sticking out in the back. Chris got up from the ground and rushed over to her.
“Skyler! What’s wrong?” Chris asked as he outstretched his arm.
Skyler looked back and shook her head.
“Don’t wanna talk about it.”
Chris frowned in disapproval, before putting his hands in his pockets and walking up to the campfire and sitting beside her.
“Okay. Fine. Don’t talk about it,” Chris muttered.
As everyone got settled down near the campfires, Chris saw Ben emerge from the shadows. The cheery smile on his face had faded away to more of an annoyed frown. There were vines covering his entire left arm, and the bags under his eyes had faded away.
“Okay. What happened?” Ben immediately asked the million dollar question. Paige let out a snort, and began to explain.
“Okay, so basically…”
I was in South Zone 2 looking for a pelagornis to tame and I just went in the water and there was a basilosaurus right there... the mantas didn’t even aggro on me until I attacked them... I killed them and fed the Basilosaurus their meat and now I have a basilosaurus.
And then I found another one right there... don’t think I’m gonna tame it thought...
