What are tips for basilosaurus? Tips and strategies for basilosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
How to tame or kill for oil.
1.Get a baryonyx and use its aoe on the mantas until most are dead
2. Passive tame it ( Or kill for a hell lot of oil ) while your baryonyx is close incase a stray manta comes
3. Repeat until tamed
MOBILE ONLY
ride an ichthyosaurus and feed it meat prime meat or kibble and I recommend using soothing balm, the reason why I use ichthyosaurus is because in ark mobile it is ignored by every other predator,so just hop on ur icthy and feed the basilo , also DO NOT DISMOUNT WHILE FEEDING ITS FOOD you can just perfectly feed it from the itchy while the mantas are not knowing that free Willy is being tamed
Must tame, it was hard for me to tame but it was a fluke, I lured all the mantas away and started to passive tame it but then megaladons ambushed me and me and my ichtyosaurous (dolphin) died, I respawned, grabbed my sarco got back and then killed the megaladons and tamed it, after I tamed it it has already killed 5-8 megaladons and 10-17 mantas on my way back home! I’m making a saddle right now, and if you want more reasons to tame I have more, it can’t kill a mosasaur if it is good lvl, it can kill many packs of megs, mantas and anything else in the ocean, AND it is immune to the tusos grab, and immune to bothe the jellyfish and electric eel stings, easy tame if you are careful, yet so powerful. I’m still sad about my dolphin 😔, 1 🆙 = one rip for the dolphin I didn’t even have time to name 😢
Uh I just found something quite OP about a basilosaurus. It has 2400 base health, while the mosasaur has 3600 base health. However, a Basilo gains 480 health per point (wild) while mosasaurs only gain 432, meaning that, at higher levels, a basilosaurus will usually have more health than a mosasaur of the same level. The only tameable creature in the ocean with a higher health than a basilo at higher levels is a tuso.
How are these passive look at that mouth
This can always be found with 2-5 rays following close by acting as body guards. Or at least it is every time I find them.
I got a spino with good hp and dmg plus a little oxygen then attracted the attention of mantas and sharks away fron the basi, then wiped em all out. Next I found something on shore for prime meat to feed it. It definitely helped that it was in a little cove area so no new predators would show up.
In order to tame a Basilosaurus you need a croosbow and an acuatic mount that's enough strong to deal with mantas.
When you have all of this just shoot to a manta that's near the Basil and all of them will attack you, and here you wil pick the your crature and kill all of them.
Once you slayed all the mantas go with the Basil and start taming him pacificly.
Be careful because each time you feed it nearby cratures will come at you.
You can find these in the reverse peninsula on Ragnarok’s Viking Bay.
The simple noob way to tame them is get any kind of meat and place it in your hot bar.Get on an icthy to do this.it worked for me and now I have 2 OP Basilosaurs.Did I mention how powerful they are? They can destroy just about anything that you find near the surface of the water.
Kill off all megs in the area with a fast mount like a sarco, then shoot the basilo with a crossbow. Lead the mantas away (this will take a while) and either kill them or loose aggro. Head back to the whale, give it some kibble (may need 2 or 3 feeds) and now you have a bio toxin gatherer and cave runner! I was completely OK to do this with a lvl 151 sarco with a primitive saddle and a regular set of scuba. I recommend bringing lazarous, and a good crossbow.
To take this beast, you need to be on a icthy, mantas will flee at the sight of you feeding the creature.
Have a tribe mate and have your own ichthyosaurus and have the tribe mate have one too.
1.find a basil of you choice.
2.have ur tribe mate aggro the mantras away.
3.check your basil out and feed it.
4.keep having your friend get away the mantas.
5.keep feeding it until you have your very own (or maybe not own maybe you'll share with your tribe mate) basilosaurus
Roughly 8 min between 1st and 2nd feeding of a 140 x-basilo
Do NOT get close to these when there is like 50 mantas on it trust the mantas shredded me like cheese when I got to close
