I use my 170 basilosaurus to kill the alpha mosasaurus (level 50+) mine has 30k health. I bite until half health, rise all the way to the surface and continue until the mosa is dead. Health rises so fast at the surface!

Yo to find them check near herb island they do spawn near the shore

The basilo is a great underwater tame, preventing dismounts, when it goes to a certain depth it starts to lose health, although it has so much health it doesn’t rly matter, it is widely used for soaking underwater bases due to its high health, to protect yourself from being ezily underwater raided you can set ur turrets to only survivers, don’t do it on all turrets though only the ones that a basilo can soak you should put on only survivers

The health regen on these things is insane. Keep fights near the surface and avoid crush depth for best results.

I don’t know what everyone else did but In my experience the Icythaurus or whatever the dolphin is called, still gets attacked. Everything is chasing me on it. Sure I can out run everything but the tips here made it sound like you would get ignored.

Also, someone said you could tame it from the saddle you can’t you have to dismount.

Now this is all PS4.

So best bet is to have 2 - 3 people 1 to feed and the others to agro and lure away the mantas and megs.

Icys are fastest in my experience. So best bet to bait away and dart in and out.

Takes ages to feed after the first time but after that it is nearly instant worth taming as they have high weight and good damage bit they are usually followed by 20 mantas so taming can be difficult

This will be your best ocean mount due to the fact that it can not be shocked by the eels and Cnidaria,cant be grabbed by a tuso,regens health very fast on rhe surface,and many other uses.

This creature has to be one of the most useful aquatic tames. It's literally the best bio toxin harvester because of its immunity to electric shocks, plus has amazing stats. We also can't ignore the fact that it generates oil passively. The cherry on top is that it's a passive tame!!

Dodex fix your stuff takes like 5 mins for hungry again

Use sarco or Rhyniognatha for taming they can swim fast and have goog DPS and hp for meg and scuba suit for the fast swimming that how I got my basilo

Kill all the mantas with a baryonix and feed it meat when its hungry. Easy but op underwater tame. Hope i helped someone

When they eat they produce oil...

Get an ichy and aggro mantas. Then lead them far away. Then return to basi quicky fees it and run off wait 5 mins then return to feed again. People keep saying ichys do not get aggro by other creatures but that is so not true so becareful and watch your surroundings.

To tame the basilosaurus it's a passive tame so kill every thing around it and start feeding it

Discovered this by accident, but a Sinomacrops will scream at and scare away all the mantas that surround the Basi. Not required, but the easiest way I found was to set my Sino to have "auto scream" enabled and "scream requires aggro" disabled. When you get semi close it'll scream which will make all, or most of the Mantas flee for long enough to feed the Basi. Hope this helps and happy whaling!!

The Basilosaurus is really easy to tame. It is a passive tame, so all you have to do is stay away from hostile creatures jellyfish, manta, etc. Then you feed it your meat, I chose raw meat, and you feed it until it is tamed. It get really hungry really easy, so it doesn't take long. If I tamed this still with a stone pic and axe, anyone can.

If only it had a horn then it could be a narwhal

This is the only sea mount you should currently use for adventuring or the underwater caves. High levels easily tear through alphas and other hard to kill creatures like squids or mosas without the fear of dismounting due to squids or eels or jellyfish.

Do not be almarmed by it taking damage in deep water, its very small and takes a long time to kill your whale and can easily be healed by surfacing. The underwater caves have pockets you can surface at to heal. The surface healing can out-heal almost all wild dino damage and a lot of the cave damage. Fight at the surface if you can.

They also generate oil over time. They can only carry 20 oil at a time though so make sure you empty it often. The oil also spoils so use it quickly.

You can also press left trigger at the surface to jump and spray water. Careful not to beach your whale in the process though.

I read on the Ark Wiki that these guys are actually passive don’t let their size and teeth intimidate you but be warned they are most often accompanied by a flock of Mantas which are annoying
