I have a basilosaurus and from the first day of taming it it was able to kill megalodons within 3 hits.

(Be in mind that I play ARK Mobile so it may not be exact on Xbox,PS4, etc.)

Tamed one during a 2x event and it took 24 mins not 12 with kibble, it was level 145 female

Feeder timer for kibble was about 70 seconds not 51 like mentioned at the time of this posting

Use a baryonyx to carefully agro the mantas and then your good, I used cooked prime meat to tame mine and once you feed them swim out of tender distance and you’ll be able to feed them again literally like 10 seconds, if you hang around it’ll take longer to eat because it’s scared.

kill everything around it before feeding

A good place to find these is on the west side of the island like mosas. When I found mine I dived to the floor and found a mosa.

The basilosaurus is amazing. Kills anything 1-2 hits and regens really quickly. Just take a sword and feed it prime fish meat. It produces 5 "oil" every 6-7 minutes

Excellent for getting bio toxin from cnidria's (jellyfish) . I use them whenever i want to restock on shocking tranq darts which can be unlocked at lvl 96 .

Boost its health to 30000 and take command of the deep sea.

Ignore the feeding intervals, took me 30 minutes to tame a lvl 80 with mutton... worth it tho 😂

Kill Everything around it. Your best bet is a Baryonyx. Ichthys will be as good as dead, Megalodons might get shred by Mantas as well. To get the aggro of Mantas, just attack one that is away from the Basilosaurus and the others will come to retaliate.

If you plan to use Raw Prime Meat or Raw Mutton, don't dare thinking that you can keep it all in your inventory before spoiling. Drop every piece of meat into your (well-feed) mount and pick one at a time, dismounting, feeding, mounting and repeating.

Bringing salts won't be harmful either, specialy when it comes to Raw Prime Meat. Raw Mutton will last more than enough without salts, but again, as long as it stays on a tamed creature.

Found a lvl 140 by Stonehenge. Used my Baryoynx w/

320 ish melee and that was perfect for killing the mantas and sharks. I used 26 theri kibble and the tame went flawless. Tamed out at 207 and has a nice red color to it. Named it Tamoto Basil. Bring extra oxygen tanks just in case.

Use a megalodon or bigger to tame since they always have a crack team of sea pancakes following it. If using a megalodon watch out for other sharks since they have the aggro range of a god. I usually find them around herbi island

On single ex took about 16mins for a 140 fed 1 or 2 pieces of mutton then 5-7mins later started 8sec intervals put mutton in the shark with preserving salt started with 17mins on mutton ended with 1:46mins on mutton keep preserving salt on you and the shark at all times goodluck

I always find them around herb island .. best way to tame I found is one guy on an ichty following and feeding it and another guy on a baryonyx or other quick strong water tame to fight off any threats that may interrupt taming

Shamu likes to aggressively kill jellyfish, use this to your advantage.

These guys are totally overpowered I got a 150 mutton tamed and killed a alpha mosa with it and still had half life xD mine got 30k health and 450mele he could kill everything solo when jou got low health swim up and they Regen pretty fast

Taming bar started dropping for unknow reason. Must need to tame it quickly. They give a bunch of oil if you kill them but x plants for so.e reason don't want to Target it for more than a hit or two at a time.

I was taming one and the taming bar went down by .1 every second for no reason!

Ive experienced, on xbox one, that the intervals for fresh/raw meet is 13 secs instead of 8, might be helpful
