My suggestion for easily taming these guys:

Build a wall of wood pillars that look like a [ from above, then place 3 bear traps (or a rock ledge if it’s nearby) in front of yourself, tranq it so it runs into the bear traps slowing it and giving you a few bonus hits. When it runs make sure the pillars are directly behind it, the edges going out will make sure that it doesn’t just go around the wall. After it’s running just enjoy your tame. If on mobile make sure you do the hunter cave for 10x soothing balm for EVERY TAME. It will make the taming process a few minutes on every Dino.

Good for taking out alpha megs because of stun move

It can king of take anything on in the water.

1 make a small stone house with windows.

2 shoot bary

3 run to house

4 shoot through window

5 keep shooting until it starts running away and shortly after it will be knocked out

6 feed it fish and narcotics

I tamed one of these and they are SO POWERFUL I recommend this cause some are easy to tame if you have a argh and bring it to a safe spot.

Climb on a rock and shoot it with tranquilizer arrows. Better if you lure the Baryonyx on land first.

Be careful in the water they can stun you.

THEY CAN’T BE BOLA’D ANYMORE! In a recent update, their weight class was changed and they can no longer be immobilized by a bola. Build a 2x2 trap out of stone with a ramp leading up and you should be fine.

For Beginners: Get atleast 7 Tranq arrows,or more.

First,You have to Lure a Baryonyx to a rock it can't climb.

Second: fricking shoot Tranq arrows at it

Third: Feed it Prime fish meat/Fish meat (Kibble is the best one) for mobile,it likes Pachyrhinosaurus Kibble.

Fourth: Now you got the best Semi Aquatic dinosaur,It can also do Caves (But not lava ones).

DO NOT belive other tips and google you CANNOT Bola the baryonyx you will just get your self killed

This is for my low level noobs, use 3 wooden billboards and place 2 in a arrow shape, agro it and run around the side effectively trapping it then get a bit closer and place the last one making a triangle, then trank quickly, I managed to knock a 140 with just prim gear and standerd arrows before it could break out

Easy but good tame all you have to do is tame a carbenemys up it’s health get a saddle for it ride it towards a bary and shoot that thing with a sling once he starts to run after 20 shots or so (varies on the level) run after it with a club and knock it out

All you need is Ichthyosaur and Bola with some tranq arrow. Swim to ocean with Ichthyosaur, find a Leedsichthys and get prime fish meats. Tranq one out and feed it prime fish meats. Easy tame.

Most common method to tame is walking backwards while shooting.

Bola while doing this for a headstart or easier headshots (or both)

To the guy who said they only eat fish meat, they can also eat raw meat when they are tamed.

For the people who are new to this dinosaur

It is knockout tame , to tame them you need raw fish meat or raw prime fish meat

It’s fast in the water and if fully submerged it can do a stun attack on small and medium sized creatures

An easy way to tame and my favorite is make a 2 wide and 4 long STONE trap with 2 high stone doorframes all around with wooden ramps on one side

Simply lure in and it can’t escape.

As long as you have a good tranq gun, some darts, narcotics, and a bear trap, you are good to go on taming a Bary

A fairly easy tame, you don’t need any special traps or anything - just you and some tranq arrows, recommend for beginners - amazing Dino in the sea and on land! To tame just shoot it ( preferably in the head) so that you get it’s attention and then run away, turn around, shoot it again, and repeat. Doesn’t need too many arrows, and bring a few ( about 5 or less) narcotics, or even just narcoberries, careful as this guy will make you “freeze” if you get close, also it only eats fish meat.

On mobile, an Argy can DEFINITELY pick a Baryonyx up. I’ve tamed like seven by picking it up and putting it in a pen with my Argy :)

I dont recommend shooting this guy without a trap cuz it runs fast and since it spawns close in the swamp it May run inside it and he May dissapear in all the water and trees make a 4 by 4 its better if its with rock it dmgs wood and make the ramp with wood if u like too and then Just tranq it out oh and one thing it only eats fish in the taming when its tamed it can eat normal Meat
