Every time I try to find one of these guys to tame they always pick a fight with a Trike or Carno or a Spino and get killed. Now I’m off to tame another because my level 10 I spent OVERNIGHT IN A SWAMP to tame and was just beginning to level got killed by a pack of Mantas. RIP Onyx.. I’ll miss you.

Man bro when i first met this guy beside my lake i thought it was a spino so i run but when i damage it it only had 400 health so i killed it and found another one so i decided to tame it

once upon a time, there was a survivor that just tamed a Carno, they were taking it back to their base when,... THIS THING SWALLOWED THE CARNO WHOLE the end

These guys literally annoy me, I was on my raptor with my otter when suddenly a baryonyx appeared out of thin air! He knocked me of my raptor and started chomping away on it next thing you know my raptor is nearly dead and we are running away. But guess what, a purlovia came running at us... Well let's just say my raptor didn't survive but I somehow got away ;-; my otter was kinda injured cuz I accidently threw it of when I panicked. RIP unnamed raptor

For everyone saying why does it attack me if it eats fish? Well I have the answer: in it’s official entry it’s aggression is listed as passive to land creatures, but aggressive to water-dwellers so it attacks you when you go in water so don’t go in or near water and it will not attack you.

DO NOT FORGET these guys stun you AND your mount in the water, I made that mistake crossing river with my carno, I was dismounted but made it to shore. Once my Carno lost its stun it made quick work of the Baryonyx 😜

Make sure to pump up your movement speed if you don’t bola this bad boy. He will catch you if you have a noob speed lol.

Please note that the normal bear trap does not work from when I tried to tame a barynyonx, if I’m mistaken please let me know.

I do not recommend battling a wild baryonyx with a tamed baryonyx in the water. They will get into a stun battle and the one that randomly strikes first each time will win.

As soon as you see one, lure it out of the water, Bola and tranq it. They’re easy enough to tame on raw fish IF you catch them before they have a chance to KILL all the fish in the area which is what you’ll usually find them doing 😂. Amazing Dino for such an easy tame. Do NOT, under any circumstances, get in the water near it - they’re fast and will catch up to you and stun you before you can swim back out. If this happens, all you can do is watch helplessly as it eats you and your Dino friends.

Don’t fight in water whatever you do

You can find these around the swamp.they aren't extremely common, but they also aren't extremely rare.

These can spawn in rivers if your wanting a more likely chance to find some go to the swamp these are not really common to spawn in rivers I played ark for a long time and i have not seen a lot of these in rivers a lot of times

Just so u know on Crystal Isles u can find Aberrant Baryonyx in Eldtrich Isle located in the Northeast part of the map

They are very common in the rivers of the southern islets. Beware, they are fast.
