Chapter 31: Feeling of Despair
Part 2/2
Aurora paused, realizing how much she had just revealed, everything that was going on between her and Borealis, everything would be known by Samuel. Samuel’s eyes darted around, and he looked back at Aurora.
“Everyone’s gone to sleep already,” Samuel explained, “You don’t have to worry anyway. But just think to yourself…”
“Who do you love?”
“And, if you don’t know the answer to that, what type of person do you want to love?”
Aurora stared off into the distance gloomily, her shoulders dropped and her hair fallen to disgrace. She shrugged.
“I-I don’t know.”
“Maybe you’re just lost,” Samuel suggested, “Borealis is gone, and you need to accept the fact. We can’t do anything about it. No ma’am. But you really need to reflect and ask yourself if Borealis really loved you.”
Aurora turned away, looking into the fire again. It was dying, the flames subsiding and the gentle breeze of warmth fading away from her body.
“I suppose I should, huh?” Aurora said with a chuckle. She laughed to herself, rubbing her eyes and getting up from the log, “Oh I’m such a fool, Samuel.”
Aurora walked off to her hut, but before she did Samuel called out to her.
“Hold on just a moment!” Samuel hollered, “You haven’t forgotten something, haven’t you?”
Aurora turned around, her hair flowing gently as the wind carried it across her eyes.
“And what would that be?”
“A good night,” Samuel replied, “You forgot to say good night.”
Aurora smiled, and waved at him.
“Good night!”
Aurora turned around and opened the door up, stepping inside and closing the door behind her. As she did, she felt her heart hammer against her chest.
“Maybe, maybe I was wrong,” Aurora thought as she walked over to her sleeping bag. She dropped down to the floor and snuggled her way in, tugging the cover up.
“Maybe things really can work out between us.”

Samuel was inspecting the strange sheet of paper Star had given him. The fire had died down already, but Samuel didn’t feel cold at all. Oddly enough he felt just at home.
“I’m going to figure this out, Star,” Samuel announced out of the blue, “Don’t you worry. Nothing and no one is going to get in the way of that.”
Star didn’t respond, only wobbling up and hopping onto the log, planting her feet firmly on the rotting bark. Samuel looked up at the night sky, the stars twinkling like fireflies in a dark forest. It really was a pretty sight, no matter how many times Samuel looked at it.
“It’s even more beautiful than down below,” Samuel muttered. He glanced at Star, who was staring at the stars too. Her namesake.
“You know who I named you after?” Samuel asked. Star didn’t look back, her focus shifted toward the stars in the night sky.
“I named you after a woman named Nova,” Samuel sighed, “She was my best friend. I don’t know what was so different about her compared to anyone else but-”
Samuel clenched his fist.
“She made me feel… alive.”
Star’s ears perked up, her feathers ruffling and her tail wagging like a dog.
“Don’t even know why I’m telling you this,” Samuel said, “You might not even understand what I’m saying. Maybe you’re just a dodo bird who’s really smart.”
Samuel relaxed his fist. He sat up from the log and stretched his limbs. He walked over to the grass and lay down on it, looking at the night sky with wide eyes.
“It really is pretty,” Samuel said, “It really is…”
Samuel spent the rest of his time staring at the night sky, the stars slowly moving east as the moon’s might glared upon the camp. As he felt himself drifting to sleep, he felt something soft and fluffy rustle on his arm, the night sky twinkling one last time from his vision.

Chapter 31: Feeling of Despair
Part 1/2
Aurora turned back and forth in her sleeping bag, the conversation between Neddy and Ruby keeping her from falling back to sleep. She sighed, staring at the ceiling as her heart weighed against her body.
“I need to mend things now,” Aurora thought, clutching her gold heart locket, “Or else the rest of my time here will never be the same.”
Aurora crawled out of her sleeping bag, snuck past the two lovers mingling on the ceiling, and made her way to where all the noise was at. The campfire. There everyone seemed so friendly and welcoming. Well, to the others, at least. Bobby and Simon looked at Aurora with raised eyebrows before turning away and chatting about something else. Sunny took a quick glance at Aurora, furrowing her brow and staring at her intently, and Gary took no attention to her. Rick was too busy reading his own book, and upon seeing her, Paige glared at her and drew a finger across her neck. Chris whacked Paige on the head.
Aurora turned away, disappointed in herself. Once a leader among a group of four, she was now looked down upon like some rebel who talked back to their superior.
“That’s not true though,” Aurora thought, “I was VALEDICTORIAN. It took lots of discipline to get to THAT state. I am not some brat.”
She looked at Samuel, who was studying some piece of paper with keen interest. She made slow strides toward him, the voice of Borealis crying out and demanding her to stop.
“STOP IT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” his voice echoed within Aurora’s mind like a cave. Aurora paused in her tracks. What was she doing? And why?
“I’m sorry, I need to move on,” Aurora whispered. She stepped forward again, the soft dirt below her shoe crunching and crackling. Samuel’s hairs stood on end, and his head slowly turned around, looking at Aurora.
“Oh, hey Aurora, didn’t think you’d recover so soon,” Samuel noted. Aurora sensed an anxiousness coming from Samuel. For once, he struggled to maintain eye contact, staring past Aurora’s shoulder and out into the hut she had come out of.
“Yeah, me neither, but I can’t have stayed sick for so long,” Aurora answered, “It wouldn’t be fair on the others.”
“Well it’s nice you’re healthy now,” Samuel bluntly responded. He looked away, staring at the paper again. Squinting his eyes, he scratched his forehead, slowly tapping his foot against the grass. Aurora was not too sure what Samuel was looking at, but it couldn’t have been anything too important, right?
Aurora let out a sigh, taking two steps forward before finally sitting down on the log Samuel resided on. Samuel looked over at Aurora, who had her hand on her fists and was staring deep into the fire.
“I don’t know what's been going on with me recently,” Aurora admitted, “And I can’t grasp why I’m feeling this way.”
“Feeling in what way?” Samuel asked curiously. The ruffling of feathers brushed Aurora’s ears and her head jolted to Samuel’s left. Star was looking at the grass, studying small ants making their way through the dirt. One of her eyes was focused on Aurora, and she had a sullen look in it. Aurora blinked, looking away. A bead of sweat rolled down her forehead. She wiped it away.
“That feeling of despair,” Aurora concluded. She buried her head in her hands, “Borealis has been haunting my dreams. I-I don’t get it. It feels like I failed him-”
“Why do you think you failed him?” Samuel gently asked. He folded the piece of paper up and placed it in his graduation robe pocket. Aurora blinks three times over before replying again.
“I just- He’d probably think I’m a failure,” Aurora murmured, “He’d think I’m weak for not stepping it up or taking the lead here. He’d think that everything I’ve worked for would go to waste and that I wasted my time with it all.”
“You think he’d think that about you?” Samuel asked with a raised eyebrow, “If he loves you, wouldn’t he think the opposite? That you tried your best?”
“No, I highly doubt it,” Aurora wavered, “He thinks very highly of me, and if I don’t meet expectations he chastises me. ‘Why is your grade in this class at a B? You know colleges won’t like this! You’re supposed to be smarter than this!’ I just think if he sees me now he’ll-”
For a little while, Aurora talked about everything Borealis said to her, everything she did to appease him, but in the end it was never enough to prepare for the inevitable future.
“He always believed in me, but he didn’t bother spending time with me-”
“Always asking how my grades were going instead of my day-”
“Talking about possible volunteer hours for college-”

😂 just kidding. He ran for his life, out of the cave, and towards the house. He ran so fast that he tripped over a log, and collapsed on the ground. When he awoke, he was in bed. "It was just a bad dream" he thought, but then he realized it wasn't Rick's house, or the cave. He managed to lift his head and look around, he felt like he had just run a marathon, before getting stung by 100s of bees. He lowered his head and tried to fall asleep again, but he felt like he was being watched. He opened his eyes and saw a tall man wearing green robes leaning against the wall holding a cup of what must have been tea. "who...are you?" Jerry managed to ask....

As they walked Andrew rubbed his nose. It was bruised at the top were the door had hit it. “You okay?” Emma asked him. Andrew smiled and put on a brave face. “Yeah, I’ll be okay. Your dad, doesn’t like strangers does he?” Andrew asked. “He doesn’t trust people he doesn’t know, like you.” Jack said. Andrew turned red. “I didn’t mean to intrude…” he began but Emma interrupted. “It’s fine Andrew.” She said irritably . “Are you okay?” Andrew asked her
“Your eyes are terribly blood shot and you look… uh…(he struggled for the right word, trying not to sound rude)peaky.”
“I’m fine, I just didn’t sleep well last night.” Emma said, then as if to prove her point she began yawning ferociously. Andrew grinned. “Well school is the perfect place to catch up on sleep.” Andrew remarked. “What do you mean?” Jay asked. (Jay loved to study unlike his twin brother)
“Well all the teachers(mayor Reine and mayor Roi) talk about is “how are island was formed after the arks” and “how we don’t have a lot of technology”.” Andrew said sincerely. “Oh come on! It can’t be that boring, can it?” Emma said. Andrew shrugged at her. “See for yourself.” After that remark, they didn’t say much more, they just walked until they came to a medium sized building painted dull grey. “Aaaand here we are!” Andrew said. As soon as they walked in the building they were face to face with Mayor Reine. “Oh, hello new students!” She exclaimed. “Sooo nice to meet you all!” She said. “Let me introduce you to the class, shall I?” She turned to go. “Um Madam mayor? If you don’t mind, we’ve already met most the students, so you don’t have do that.” Jay said. Andrew and Jack quietly snickered, while Emma politely looked away trying not to laugh. Mayor Reine shot him a look of annoyance. “Fine!” She snapped. “GO sit down!” They politely did so. After that mayor Reine wasn’t as nice to them. As they passed the front desks in the class they noticed the mayor’s sons who were sitting at the front desks. They also noticed Michael watching Emma very closely.Emma went and sat by Emilia and Olivia while Jay and Jack sat down on either side of Eric. Eric grinned broadly at his friends. “Hi.” Eric whispered. “Okay. Settle down class, settle down!” Mayor Roi said. After a few minutes of “quiet!”, “down!”, and “get in your seats!” the class finally settled down. “Ok, now we can begi…” mayor Roi began but was interrupted by the schoolroom door opening and Elizabeth rushing in. “Hi! Sorry, I’m late but our dog Gabriella had puppies and I had to help with them.” She said. The mayors frowned at her. “Sit down.” Mayor Roi said. Elizabeth hurriedly did so. “Ok as I was saying, NOW we can begin if there is no more interruptions.” Elizabeth blushed. “Sorry.” She whispered. “A long long long long time ago there was an age called “the arks”. It was an extraordinary time period, filled with strange creatures and…elements. Some people took advantage of these…elements and strange creatures and used them for their own purposes. Some people used these elements to make powerful weird jewelry and other things while others “tamed” creatures and used them as slaves. Now we went through different stages of “the arks”. They were called the island, the center, Scorched earth, Ragnerok, Valeuguro, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis,Crystal isles another Genesis, and Fjordor. Whenever the arks ended we were left with little technology and with leftover elements around we didn’t want chaos to happen so we are basically left with old technology like telephones, and etc.” Mayor Roi lectured . (The mayors for some reason took turns teaching the class.)“Now, any questions?” Mayor Reine asked. Jack raised his hand. “Yes?” Mayor Reine asked. Jack cleared his throat. “Um, are y’all names actually Roi and Reine? I just think it’s kind of coincidental that you act like y’all are the king and queen of this island and that’s what y’all’s names mean in French.” Jack said. All of the kids in the class started laughing except for the mayor’s sons who were looking murderous at Jack and Jay. “Quiet!” Mayor Reine yelled. She glared at Jack and Jay. “Class dismissed.” Mayor Roi said. The kids filed our neatly in a line and headed to the town square.

Forest whipped his head around, searching for a spot to hide.
“A thieving Deinonychus requesting assistance?” Spark asked. “No way.”
“Spark he needs us,” Forest said. “Let’s just help him hide. Over here.” He jumped forward to a fallen tree, carpeted in curtly long moss and vines. “Climb under.”
The deinonychus dove for the hidden spot, and Spark followed.
“Aren’t you coming?” Spark whispered, poking her head out.
“No. There’s not enough room in there.” Forest climbed to the highest boulder he could find and pressed his body against the rock. “Hide,” he called down.
As the crashing of talons came closer, Forest fixed his scales to the color of the grey -white stone. He felt his feathers and scales shiver, and soon enough he was well hidden. A Kaprosuchus burst from the forest.
She glanced around, sneering. Her fangs gleamed in the sunlight, and her tail thrashed the ground. Her smooth scales were the color of washed-out scarlet petals.
“Stupid Deinonychus,” she muttered. Forest held himself as still as he could. He hoped The other two were doing the same.
Then the Kapro whipped around and stomped back down the hill, and her tail disappeared in the bushes.
A few minutes later of hiding, the deinonychus burst out laughing.
“Wasn’t that great?” He exclaimed, rolling out from the hiding spot. Spark came out second, looking faintly amused. “I’m mean, her FACE when I grabbed that kill. And then—hah! Then you guys! I was THIS close to being a pile of bones.”
“That’s wasn’t funny,” Spark said. “It was thieving.”
“So worth it,” The deinonychus said, smiling with all his teeth. “Priceless!” He fell back into another fit of laughs.
“We have to go now,” Spark said. Forest climbed down the rock and stepped next to her.
The deinonychus turned to look at them, arching his eyebrows. “You are a… strange couple, don’t you think?”
“What?” The two looked at each other. “No!” They said at the same time. “We’re just wandering,” Spark said.
“We have to save the world.” Forest said directly after. Spark whacked him with her tail. “What?”
“Save the world?” The deinonychus asked, standing up. He set down the chunk of meat, looking intrigued. “Gee, I wish I could save the world. That be great!”
“So that you’re loved and no one will care that you steal things?” Spark guessed.
He opened and closed his mouth a few times, then perked up. “Can I tag along? Just for a few days?”
“What?” Spark exploded. Forest gave her a look. “Why?”
“We’ll you guys and your ‘wandering’ might be fun!” He said. “So can I?”
Spark turned to Forest. “What do you think?” She asked him.
“Hmm,” Forest looked to the desperate feathers dinosaur. He’s a thief, Forest thought, but he want a a second chance. Maybe he can change. “He can come along.”
“YES,” The deinonychus said, hopping from foot to foot. “What are your names?”
“I’m Forest and this is Spark,” Forest said, turning to the Carnotaur. “You?”
“The names Rust,” the deinonychus said, letting out a side smile. His blue-orange feathers swayed in the breeze.
“Alright then,” Spark said. “Let’s go.”
“To fulfill a prophecy,” Forest said, following.
“To save the world!” Rust bellowed. “Hooray!”
The ARKS: ARK 1, part 12
Even more time passes, (as in like A LOT of time) as dave and Marion prepare their Rhynio, imprinted rexes and boss creatures, they start the trek. A giant flying white dragonfly-esque insects swoops through the sky, making the most brave Argentavis run away. “Be ready to say goodbye to our… everything, Marion” Dave says solemnly, they both had otters, Hinkle and Hankle, for Dave and Marion respectively. And those otters went and carried the artifacts for Overseer, they had spent a lot of time in this place, some mishaps here and there, but they had what they needed. Dinos, armor, tools, weapons, and a home. They ghost-Towned the base by uploading their dinos into an obelisk, making them accessible across all arks, from what they knew.
*some time flying later*
“Here we are, the Tek Cave.” Dave obviously points out, they had cryo-sickness after the first rex, but they had patience. After maybe an hour for the last rex to wake up from the sickness, they proceeded to charge into battle, killing many along their way, from the trike to defense units, all displayed motionless against the ground, sone harvested until they reached the end. All this work, for the final battle.

As soon as they were in, they saw four pillars made of a strange looking tek, and a window to space. But before they could say a word. Piles of element gathered around in the middle of the arena and formed the ultimate challenge. The Overseer
Whistles were firing off, and dozens of rexes rushed toward the overseer, and a Yuty roar was heard, dealing massive amounts of damage, but not enough, they could see a magic bar displaying health above the overseer, then Dave and Marion went off with their ascendant AR’s, quickly lowering the overseers HP to 3/4, making it transform to one of the bosses they knew, The Dragon, Barrages of whistles again, and another Yuty roar.
Soon the dragon replica has been defeated, and it turnt back to the survivor implant that there implanted on their wrist, but damage numbers still kept erupting at the overseer, and the health bar flashing white, indicating damage.
The Overseer has reached 1/2 of its health, transforming to their favorite of them all. Megapithecus. The giant monkey went and ground-slammed the -well- ground, and the rexes still stood strong, utilizing the power of the daedon that accompanied them. Yuty roar again, and the Megapithecus falls with a thud

As the Overseer reaches its final slivers of green, one of the rexes die, then another. Another one. Rexes we’re falling left and right and just moments later. All of them were gone, then the daedon, then it was just them and the Yuty, it roars, then them two shoot all their ammo at it and it head to the center, it’s bar with zero amounts of green left. It starts shivering, element dust surrounding it like electrons, then it starts vibrating, then shaking. Until
It blows up with spectacular fashion
Dave and Marion were perplexed, they did it? They beat this… Ark? But they had no time to celebrate. A hologram shows up at the terminal in the middle where the overseer resided, showing the solar system, prominently the sun, then it zooms in. The earth they thought, then it zooms further to the dome shaped thing that was flashing red, that they both though that was their ark, which was true. Then they are blinded by a flashing light.
They were floating in space, but flying really fast. “He~ O? Any-y the-ere?” He couldn’t see Marion, but he checked his hands, they became element particles like what formed the overseer, then back to normal, then to glass, then to low-res fingers, then back to normal. After looking at his hands, he sees rings as he passes through and sees another ark, then another one, he was flying everywhere, he takes a look at earth, looking as barren as a desert, if less. Before he knew, he was on a crash-course to a desert-like ark, on top of his vision, it says:
Welcome to Scorched Earth.
And that’s the end of ARK 1, the rest is through achatina through Yuty in the ALL filter, so I’ll see you guys later

They walked a bit closer. “Well?” Said Mia. “What now?” Sorrow finished. “Now,” continued Fury. “We ask, who has..THE RUNE.” Said Fury. “ok.” Said Mia. They walked a little closer. “Who has the rune!?” Sorrow roared. “Huh?” One Pego said. “What..RUNE?” It finished. “The green crystal.” Said Fury. “Oh, this one?” The Pego said. “Yes. Now give it back to us!” Roared Sorrow. “Not so fast, you have to trade us for it.” The Pego said again. “No! Give! It! Back! Now!!” Roared Sorrow. “Nah, not like that.” Sorrow stepped closer. Then ran after the defenseless Pego. “Give it to me!” He roared again. “Never!!” Roared the Pego. “Sorrow, leave it alone.” Anubis said calmly. “No!” Roared Sorrow. “Oh well, I’ll trade you my silica pearls.” Mia said. “Silica pearls?” Said the Pego. “Yes please!” It gave us the rune and Mia gave it silica pearls. “Thank you!” It said. “Your welcome!” Mia said back. “See? Not so hard.” She said again. “Fine. You get it this time.” Sorrow calmly walked back towards them. “We need the riddle.” Fury said. “The riddle eh?” It said back.

For the past several weeks a secret army has been building. The army that will fight INV. Bob and confederate command stand from the redwoods ruins waiting to the army to assemble. To conceal movements, the army gathers in the dead of night. Over the course of a few hours the army assembles. The tames, supplies, and materials of 30 tribes meets. The army numbers around 1000 tames and human wise. With the attack at first dawn some men sleep. Others talk and shake hands over warm fires. Meanwhile others gather wood and feed the tames. Bob finds his mount. A big red and yellow rex named “Stalin” . The beast stares at him closely. Then bob heads back to his shack where the 5 other confederate generals stand waiting. “So here we all are.” says one. “I’d say it’s only an hour till morning.” - says general king. “I’d start gathering the troops. Hopefully bob. This will work”.
