Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a arthropluera? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a arthropluera.
When it says non-violent. It means you’re not to use violence when taming. Feeding it isn’t violent. It murdering your face when you do so is a horse of a different color.
they CANNOT attack you while in the water!
Tip for anyone who thinks these fart wads are easy to tame: they aren't. Before you can even think about going down a cave to tame one, you need at least one Broth of Enlightenment, which you cannot feed to them until they de aggro, which means you also need Bug Repellent. A ghillie suit is recommended but not mandatory. If you wanna try stealing one with a megalosaurus to tame elsewhere, fat chance. The game tends to despawn the arthro the moment you exit the cave. Be prepared, thats all I'm gonna say.
Why is this thing passive tame I do not want it to be awake when I tame it
This is my attempt to bring together all the tips that worked for me and explain how things went for me playing on an official pve server on The Center map, and specifically the volcano cave. You can’t be mounted to get into the opening to the entrance tunnel of the cave, and then again at the end of the tunnel as you enter the actual cave. You can’t build in here, but you can place sleeping bags.
Don’t be lazy - make broth of enlightenment. Kill woolly rhinos for their horns and the broth is easy. Your entire goal during taming is to minimize the number of contacts with the arthro. During the winter event in 2022 with 3x taming, a single broth of enlightenment will tame a 150 arthro. My advice: make and bring more than one broth - the chances of encountering multiple high levels worth taming are pretty high. You may as well make the trip worthwhile.
Next, Don’t be lazy - have plenty of bug repellent and the best set of ghillie you can get together. I go ahead and use both during the whole trip (except a max armor ascendant flak helmet), because bug repellent doesn’t work on titanboas, etc., that are likely to be present in the same places as the arthros. Plan for disaster and come prepared for that.
It is absolutely true that theris do not aggro the cave dinos **while you are riding it** so bring one if you’ve got it. Just remember that once you dismount, things can change in a hurry, especially if you aren’t using bug repellent and ghillie, or if you just didn’t see a boa or something. By comparison, a shadowmane aggros everything. Personally, I bring a few standards with me in cryos, including a theri and a megatherium. If push comes to shove and you have to start killing everything that moves, you are literally in the megatherium’s wheelhouse. It’ll be enraged the entire time (and slot cap with chitin if you need it). I also bring a shadowmane for the water, but you’ll be fine without it.
The arthros won’t aggro while your theri kills other stuff right by it (except another arthro), just as long as nothing hits the arthro. So try to clear everything else that is anywhere close to your arthro without hitting it. One time there were two arthros right next to each other, one a 150 and the other a 55, and I couldn’t kill the 55 without drawing aggro from the 150. So I tamed the 150, and the 55 immediately aggro’d the now tamed 224 arthro and then managed to hit me before the 224 killed it. But that bite hurts.
Finally, I suggest you have a plan for what you’ll do if you die in a big nasty snake and bug pile, where all your stuff will be. One time, there were so many araneo shooting webs that Ark crashed, and I was dead when I logged back in - my tame was alive because it was on neutral, but it fell off a ledge and definitely didn’t kill everything that was by my bag. I also couldn’t whistle it back from where it was to the closest sleeping bag I dropped. I was able to run to my tame naked since we had cleared that route, but it was sketchy and not what I would ever want to do again. From then on, I had a box with a bed and a mortar&pestle as close to the cave entrance as I could safely place it. Before going in the cave, I would leave a few things in the mortar&pestle to use if I died / like a megatherium and a flyer in cryos, extra bug repellent, armor/weapons, whatever else you’d want to have on the way back to your bag. Use th flyer to get back to the cave entrance, then ride the mega or whatever beast tame you bring until you get back to your bag. It maybe takes an extra couple minutes, but if you try to just spawn in on sleeping bags in the cave without any gear or tames waiting for you, there’s a good chance you’ll just end up getting killed over and over again as you struggle to get your stuff back.
I hope this narrative proves helpful - good luck!
I just wore a Ghillie suit, consumed bug repellant and sneaked behind it. Totally works.
Easy tame!!!
1. Make some bug repellent
2. Get some Broth of Enlightenment
3. Go to Cave of Hunter and kill basically anything in the caves but leave the Arthro you wish to tame
4. Get some distance between you and the Arthro and take the bug repellent
5. Dismount your tame and walk up to it and give it the Broth of Enlightenment (took me only 1 with a 10x Soothing Balm to get a lvl 130)
6. Bam!!! You can run the Cave of the Strong and Immune without even being attacked
Hint: I did this on mobile so not sure if this method works for console and PC
All you have to do is tame a scorpion and ride up to an arthro on the scorpion and feed it spoiled meat. The arthro will not aggro on you while you are riding the scorpion. I did this on my mobile world so I can confirm that this works at least on mobile.
-Taming ARK Mobile-
*Note : If you kill Arthropluera, take its implant, and revive it back, it will not be immune to aggro, and you will be attacked by cave creatures. You must only tame it in the cave.
1. Wear ghillie suit(optional, but would be better if you have it), and use bug repellant.
2. Find your desired level of Arthropluera. Then kill all cave creature around it(spiders, scorpions, bats, snakes).
3. Walk up to the Arthropluera slowly and because you're on mobile, make sure not to accidentally punch it.
4. Put taming food(Broth of Enlightenment, Spoiled meat) in your quick inventory because this thing use non-violent tame method. When you see the prompt feed it until it is tamed.
5. Congratulations, now you got yourself an Arthropluera. Now you can explore swamp cave and yeti cave without the fear of getting attack by high level cave creature.
Use the broth of enlightment, since it is their kibble. If you use a broth of enlightment a a balm it I a insta tame, since authors take forever to eat. You can find the recipe on google or something, be warned, it is EXPENSIVE.
Go to the center, head to the rock head at 61 LAT 67 LON lure a artho of into the water tame it with spoiled easiest and quickest way in my opinion of years in ark
How to tame
Step one : go into a cave
Step two : find one and lure it into the water( they can’t attack you while you’re in water)
Step three: feed it rotten meat
Step four: give it a name!
Hope this helps:)
Best way to tame is to simply get your self some bug repellent and a full ghilie suit. After you have these things simply feed old meat and sit from it at a distance and keep feeding
Don’t try to knock it out as you can not knock it out it tames by feeding it by HAND!!
Raising/breeding baby phase they only eat spoiled meat juv and in they eat regular meat and spoiled meat.
On the artifact cave on the island near rock island. ( Artifact of the hunter) they spawn on land and in water. When they spawn in water you can go in the water and tame them they are passive in the water.
For people on mobile, it’s simple, first cave tame a areneo, if they are tamed in a cave, no cave creature will attack it, go to the central cave, ride your areneo and find these things, feed it spoiled meat until tamed, the best part is once you have a saddle for the arthropluera, nothing attacks you when your on its back, ((WARNING)) never get off the areneo’s back while taming, everything will attack you even when you go back on its back, I hope this helps you guys
If u see this mf JUST RUN RUN AND DONT LOOK BACK
Yes they still have stealth BUT if at any point they have ever died or been chronicalled, they will lose the stealth. You cannot revive tame, or they lose stealth.
Just bait it into the water and it will auto deaggro.
Let it sink to the bottom while you kill off the spiders and anything else attacking you.
Once all threats are clear swim down and take :)
By far the scariest insect to come across. But not like you may think! This is the arthopluera, a giant prehistoric centipede, that’s ready to make your life miserable. So let’s talk about them shall we? I’ll list what I’ll be talking about, then we can jump in! What’s they look like, How to tame them, what maps their on, and what they’re good for! Alright now let’s get started!
Appearance: Segmented plates that have a curved spike on both sides of each segment, about half the size of the player. And everything else is a cross between a millipede and a centipede.
Taming! Taming one is very simple, Grab spoiled meat, grab a flyer (or if you don’t have one bug spray) Pick up the arthro with a flyer, and drop it into a nearby body of water. Don’t worry, These creatures can’t drown, also putting it into the water seems to just blind it, making it passive unless it exits the water. While it’s in the water, feed it the spoiled meat until it tames. Whistle the arthro to follow you out of the water and boom, u got a arthro!
Maps: Extinction, The island, Scorched Earth, Crystal Isles, Ragnorak, Lost island. These maps I know have arthro.
This tame excels at Pvp, Almost being a pointless tame on pve due to its lack of weight, speed and attacks. Making this tame a must have war mount, why? Arthros have acidic blood, if somebody were to hit you with a melee weapon, it would break. This isn’t effective against ranged weapons as they take 15-25% more dmg from ranged weapons. However once this tame gets close to the enemy base it can just eat its way through. Tek base? Hardly think so, Metal superfortress? Not anymore. Simply get rid of the turrets, and the arthro can wreck the entire base. Chewing through vaults, walls, you name it it could destroy it. Is there a hard to reach exposed geny? Unfortunate. But never fear, the arthro doubles a catapult. Shooting it’s acidic blood like artillery!
Thx for reading! I’ll be working on tips for other pvp mounts!
