Ok, so everybody knows Argies are slow af. You don’t need a trap if you have movementspeed above 134%! (At least I don’t use them) just run away for a time, turn around, shout about 3-4 arrows , repeat!

Easy trap to tame an argy!

Make four wooden gate frames and two gates. Place them, one in front of the other and make sure the gaps between them aren't big enough for the argy to escape. Put a gate on the first and last doorframe. Close the last door and leave the entrance open. Aggro the argy and lead it in the trap, once its inside close the gate. You can exit the trap from the gaps between the gate frames.

Then you can just knock it out!

Warning: don't leave the argentavis in the trap for too long without knocking it out because it can break wood

Pretty easy but a little hard way on how to get an argy:

1. Get 12 stone doorframes, two stone foundations, two stone ceilings, tranqs, bio toxin or narcos, and taming weapon (preferably crossbow or long neck)

2. Place down two stone foundations (1x2) and place stone doorframes (two high) but leave one short side open, place two roofs to block top, and a ramp that leads into it if it makes it easier for you

3. Find the argy of choice and get its attention, run up the ramp (or jump into it) and make sure the argy follows into it, run to the back and place the last two stone doorframes and it should stay

4. Shoot it up through the holes, once its knocked, feed it its preferred food (kibble, prime meat, regular meat, etc) or starve it (dododex has starve timer and narcos needed)

5. Enjoy the argy

An Argentavis is a very easy beginner tame. To tame it you will have to have:

-crossbow or bow

-at least 10 tranq arrows

-3+ raw fish meat (prime works better)

-20+ lvls

-health upgraded at least 7 times

Argentavis spawn on almost all ARK maps, and are very common, so it should be relatively easy to find one. They look like bulky eagles that prowl around on the ground or, more commonly, swoop around in the sky. Here’s what you need to do to tame one.

1: Find an Argentavis

2: Load the tranq arrows into your bow (if you haven’t already done it

3: Take aim at the Argentavis and fire

Here’s a tip. If you find one and it’s scavenging, that is the best possible time to shoot at it. Do not shoot at it while it is fighting other dinosaurs, because if you do and knock it unconscious, the other dino/s will demolish it. It is best to catch it alone while it is eating, because there is a chance it will not chase you.

4: Run as the Argentavis chases you (if it doesn’t, shoot again)

5: When it stops chasing you, go back and shoot at it again

6: Repeat until unconscious

7: Put fish in Argentavis inventory

8: Wait until tamed

9: You have an Argentavis!

Argentavis Magnificens, an extinct species, was one of the largest birds to ever live. They lived in the Late Miocene in early Argentina and had an enormous wingspan of 5.09 to 6.5m. Argentavis lived off a diet of carrion (dead animals) and their territories might have been around 500 square metres. Another extinct bird, Pelagornis Sandersi, had a wider wingspan that Argentavis, and their wingspan would have measured about 7 to 7.4m. Argentavis was a soaring bird. Its lifestyle would have been very much like the Andean Condor, a modern-day non-extinct type of condor. Argentavis might have used mountain slopes to take off, because the muscles in its chest were not built for much flapping. Argentavis laid 1 to 2 eggs every year, each one smaller than an ostrich egg despite their size. The young became independent at 16 months old, but they were not full grown until they turned 12. Because of its size, Argentavis would have had no natural predators, so most died of sickness or old age. Size estimates are:

Pra domar um Argentaves rápido, existe um bag. Você o prende na trepe e atira flecha narcótica nele até ele começar a fugir, quando ele fugir você pega uma carcaça de algum dinossauro e coloca pra ele, quando ele for comer você deita ele, e coloca comida no inventário dele que ele vai domar quase instantâneamente.

Scrolled for a bit and didn’t see this but if you want to tame these amazing flyers wait for them to enter rapid regen (eat a corpse) from there tranq it out and if it’s still in rapid regen when unconscious it will eat food and tame incredibly fast (under a minute for most)

EZ tame just get tranq darts then knock it out feed it raw meat or raw prime meat and done you have argentavis

Argentavis has the second largest wingspan. Only few flying creatures rival it. Argentavis was a carrion-eater, meaning that it was a giant vulture crossed with a eagle and eats corpses with delight. It can be known for it’s massive wings and eagle like body. Argentavis can regenerate lots of health when eating a corpse, and has lots of weight. Lots of weight meant that it could carrie a lot of creatures.

Taming:

Recommended Knockout Choice: Tranquilizer Darts

Recommended Food: Raw Prime Meat

Recommended Narcotic: Narcotics

Traps: 4 Wooden or Stone Dinosaur Gateways and 2 Dinosaur Gateways. Make a gap between the gateways that are large enough for a human but not an Argentavis. Place 2 Dinosaur Gateways on the sides of the trap.

Knockout:

Find an Argentavis, usually with a flyer. Then, kill off any other Argentavis that you don’t want or any other carnivore that could interfere with the taming. After, get the Argentavis’ attention. Land your flyer at a distance between the Argentavis. Then, start shooting it with your knockout method. Really, it only takes a few Tranq Darts to knock it out. Now, feed it with your choice of food. It takes time, but it’s worth it.

Or,

Lure the Argentavis into the trap, then close the gateways. Knock it out, then feed it.

Recommended: Minor Soothing Balm, Narcotic, Flyer.

Since an argy doesn't do that much dmg I lured the argy all the way back to my base from redwood mountain then I just tranqed it and saved my save file and went to get some narcs.

If you have one of these get a raft, build a taming pen on top and a space for landing and you have yourself a good portable taming base for anything it can pick up. I've tamed loads with this. It's easier than flying all the way to base or making several taming pens at different locations.

Always make sure you know the level of your argy cause I was gonna take a lvl 65 and I lost it and found it and when I knocked it put it was not the level 65 but a level 13 so I ended up taming a different argy

This is for the guy up top with his how to tame guide. (No, I’m not trying to diss you.) You don’t actually need a stone gate. You can just use wooden ones, so long as you don’t leave him in there. Also, you only need three. That’s pretty much all, sport if I came off as kind of a jerk, but I don’t want people to waste their supplies. Good luck!

For ark mobile: traps are not required for low levelled argies, just keep a friend or two with you and tranq it when it's attacking you, using toxicant arrows is better, it will go down in just 4-5 toxicant arrows.

Catch them in an argentavis trap. Get a magnifying glass. Shoot them with narc arrows until it is just about to go unconscious (Use the magnifying glass to inspect the torpor) feed the argentavis a body. Imediately after it consumes the body shoot it with narc arrows to finish knocking it out (*if it does not have the green effect around it's head do not knock it out! If the effect is gone feed it another body) Purpose when the argentavis gets knocked out with the effect his hunger will already by very low. Super fast taming!

I found mine stuck in a rock so I shot it with tranqs with a crossbow in the head then broke the rock..so yeah

Me and my tribe of 3 used 20 arrows each and it didn’t knock.But our aim isn’t the best lol

They are a absolute pain to take if your getting a high level one but it is worth it. A level 200 argie can easily take on a Rex

If you are taming one and it is trapped in dino gateways, I would recommend killing another dino and let the argy harvest the body. It will get the rapid regen buff and that also uses there food stat very quickly. So do this if you want it to tame a little bit faster.

Hi! It's astro again, leaving tips on dinos that you may want to tame.

The easy way on taming an argy/Agrentavis is to build a trap with dinosaur gates (Mostly stone regular dinosaur gates, not behemoth.) You place the gates in a row leaving you enough space to run out of the side. you put 2 doors on either side of the trap !!NOT ALL THE GATES. JUTS THE 2 ON THE ENDS!!, You will open the side with the argy, and keep the other side closed. You agro the argy, and run into the trap, and as it follows you, you're going to run out in one of the side cracks, loop around to the open door, and shut it.

Then you tranq the argy and hope for it to knock out. Then you feed it Prime meat, raw meat, mutton, or kibble (best ones)

If you run out of tranq arrows, do not panic, the argentavis' torpor is very low and will not drain a lot. Go back to your base, make more, the go back and keep tranqing. If your base is far away, ask a friend to keep come over with arrows and bring them to you.

Why is the argy good? Whats its purpose?

Well the argy is very good for carrying items. It has a reduced weight thing with stone, metal, metal ingots, and more. It will split it in half, making the difference by carrying twice as more to your base than needed
