An Argentavis is a very easy beginner tame. To tame it you will have to have:

-crossbow or bow

-at least 10 tranq arrows

-3+ raw fish meat (prime works better)

-20+ lvls

-health upgraded at least 7 times

Argentavis spawn on almost all ARK maps, and are very common, so it should be relatively easy to find one. They look like bulky eagles that prowl around on the ground or, more commonly, swoop around in the sky. Here’s what you need to do to tame one.

1: Find an Argentavis

2: Load the tranq arrows into your bow (if you haven’t already done it

3: Take aim at the Argentavis and fire

Here’s a tip. If you find one and it’s scavenging, that is the best possible time to shoot at it. Do not shoot at it while it is fighting other dinosaurs, because if you do and knock it unconscious, the other dino/s will demolish it. It is best to catch it alone while it is eating, because there is a chance it will not chase you.

4: Run as the Argentavis chases you (if it doesn’t, shoot again)

5: When it stops chasing you, go back and shoot at it again

6: Repeat until unconscious

7: Put fish in Argentavis inventory

8: Wait until tamed

9: You have an Argentavis!

IRL Dino Facts

Argentavis Magnificens, an extinct species, was one of the largest birds to ever live. They lived in the Late Miocene in early Argentina and had an enormous wingspan of 5.09 to 6.5m. Argentavis lived off a diet of carrion (dead animals) and their territories might have been around 500 square metres. Another extinct bird, Pelagornis Sandersi, had a wider wingspan that Argentavis, and their wingspan would have measured about 7 to 7.4m. Argentavis was a soaring bird. Its lifestyle would have been very much like the Andean Condor, a modern-day non-extinct type of condor. Argentavis might have used mountain slopes to take off, because the muscles in its chest were not built for much flapping. Argentavis laid 1 to 2 eggs every year, each one smaller than an ostrich egg despite their size. The young became independent at 16 months old, but they were not full grown until they turned 12. Because of its size, Argentavis would have had no natural predators, so most died of sickness or old age. Size estimates are:

Length: 3.5 m (11 ft 6 in)

This is the best thing you can get in ark. It can transport items and dinos really good for attacking me and my friend have just got a level 124 one and a 54 one and we killed an alpha raptor in 2 minutes XD

How to tame and utility:Usually found in ‘cold’ areas of the map Argentavis have weight reduction on Metal,Organic Polymer and Stones.

To tame take some sort of flyer to the outskirts of the North Zone.From there wait for 1 of them to enter rapid regen (eating a corpse/dead body) as then they will consume food extremely quickly (at most 1 minute to fully tame)

HOW TO GET IT TAMED FAST! First get soothing balm! You can do this by going into any cave and grabbing the artifact! You don’t have to make it out the cave alive btw! Then tribute so you get rewards but before you do! Save curent game then tribute, so that way you can get easy soothing balm by restoring if you dies t get it! Easy words for this is: get balm by saving game then tribute and restore game until you get balm! You can also just save game in caves to not fight monsters, because when you save they go away! And if you want to be safe then use ur camera to look through the ground and walls withougt having risk! TADA now you can cheEEAt with minimal effort to get rewards and amber if your lucky when you tribute! MAKE THE ARROW POINT TOWARDS SOMETHING ABOVE YOU IF THIS WAS HELPFUL! also you need some raw meat to feed it, and the purple balm. By:Just your fellow helper

Just shoot with tranqs and if it gets too close run away, they fly really slow

KNOUCK THEM WITH NORMAL CROWBOW!! TRUST ME JUST DO IT WITH NORMAL ONE! So I made a trap and lore the argy in it and when I was shooting him with my Mastercraft crow bow she died. And I lore a another one and he died too!

When it eat the corpse it get a regeneration buff, so if you knock it our while it's still regenerating it's food will be drained so you can easily tane it. That's what I did for my 204 wild argie

Easy Trap works with wood best with stone

What you need 1Foundation 1Celing and 8 door frames

1place foundation

2 place door frames around the foundation 2 up 3 around make sure there’s a gap on one side

3 place ceiling

4 Then lead the argentavis in the trap and place doorframes over the hole. Haven’t tested on ASA yet

Make trap by using four stone gateways and two gates. Place the gateways with enough room between for you to get out and not the argy. Then place the gates.

I managed to tame 3 decent level argentavis with my tribemate without a trap.So you only need to take taming weapons and narcotics.

This giant flying bird is a great ride it’s relly easy to tame first get a smithy then a primitive longneck rifle and some tranquilizer dart’s for mobile hold and drag it to the gun and find one (I usually find them near cliff’s and stuff) shot it and for me it tamed with no taming stuff it goes up by 8 get around 30 or so meat and boom you got a argentavis enjoy hope this is useful to all who read this

yall out here building traps when you can just lure them into the cave on carnivore island- they cant escape it untill you lead them out with follow whistle or a saddle- just be wary of sabers raptors and scorpions they can fit in the cave- try to stay away from the entrance too cause rexes CAN and WILL reach you by clipping their heads through a wall- have fun with this yall- i got 3 argys by doing this so it 100% works! (just try to not get hit- idk if they can move around good enough to attack you- if so just put down a billboard or something lol their head will poke out if they are aggroed and you can shoot them! you can also shoot from under it too) hope this helps people who have trouble making traps!

If you don’t want to use a trap just go up to the mountain with a pteranodon and hit one of the Argys at the bottom so it will start following you. Make sure it’s following you as they are kinda slow. Once you get to the top park your pteranodon and shoot the Argy with tranq darts. In my experience there hasn’t been anything up there so you can tame in peace. Hope this helps a little.

They are a simple tame for the middle class. Just get some prime meat and a few tranq arrows and DONE. DO NOT LEAVE HIM ALONE IN MOBILE HE WILL IMEDIETLY DIE💀

EASIEST WAY TO TAME AT ANY LEVEL:

Stock up on trans, 4 - 5 per bird, wait for it to land, walk an aim-able distance away, FIRE AWAY, when it comes close, run towards it while flanking from the side and from behind as it passes, you WILL take a foot or two, so be prepared to have SOME food handy for yourself.

They stay tranqed for a little over 30 minutes. Use that time to starve them whil you hunt some predator or big game to get some prime and VOILA!

I solo play and just tamed 5 Argen in one go. I am going to paint them blue and call them The Blue Angles. 😉

I think the argent is the only flyer worth anything since the update. Speed is ok weight is decent and damage is killer.

How to tame an argentavis is if you're bad at the game like me.

Supplies needed- flying mount, tranqs (darts are recommended), and some narcotics or biotoxin

First go to the non snowy mountain in the east (on island btw) then find your preferred argy, next fly in front of his face to get it to aggro. Lead him up the mountain until you get to a spot where you can sit there, then got off your mount and start shooting it, rinse and repeat until he's sleeping. Feed him meat and narcotics and bam you got an argy.
