You don’t really need a trap.Just shoot it!

(Unpatched December 2022) How to instant tame an argentavis eliminating the need for narcotics-

Equipment: Tranq arrows w crossbow (or anything else), standard 3 gateway argy trap, dead creature of any kind, this isnt exactly required but a magnifying glass is incredibly helpful

Method: Trap the argentavis and tranq it until it starts fleeing due to high torpor, drag dead creature into trap with argy and wait until it is eaten and it receives a healing effect. The moment the creature is consumed you must knock out the bird as fast as possible, the faster the better the effect. If done correctly the argentavis’ food should drop by multiple thousands allowing you to insta tame. Usually what I do on official is I get a vulture and make it harvest and store mutton (it lasts two hours on its inventory but it cannot be inserted there you must put it on aggressive and on your shoulder and harvest a dead ovis) and do this glitch and tame a few 130+ argentavis’ in 15-30 minutes.

Build tree base at RW mountain area. Make 2W x 4L x 5H stone base, wall ceiling shack. Stone Dino gateway door. Food bin, Mortar & Pestal, few smelters, Argie and an Anky in there will fit fine. Fly over not through to get to. Use argie and anky to harvest metal, stone and flint. Make SP to fuel the smelter. Harvest berries for anky with anky and meat with argy. Come back later to haul metal ingots back to base. Also can collect sap taps while your there! Smelters will keep you warm at night. I’m solo in offline game single player “default” settings and this works well for me. You can also put smithy in there as it won’t hurt if need to drop storage or craft high saddles for faster trips. Remember! Fly over! Not through!

How to tame an Argy:

Build a trap. You will need a stone foundation, stone doorframe (or fence posts), a stone hatch door, and stone fences. Build a two high tower with doorframes, then one on either side of the trap. Make sure you have space to get out!!! Seal those with a hatch ceiling on top, and stone fence supports on the sides. Now just lead the Argy to the trap. They are territorial so if you encroach too far on their space they will aggro. I recommend waiting for one to land to be safe. Make sure to lead the argy to your trap via the TWO-HIGH doorframes. It won't fit through the one highs and so will go around. Trust me, I know. Once its trapped, just tranq it up. If it escapes the trap, don't panic. Just hit it before it gets too high out of range. If you die, or your trap fails completely, that's okay. Just keep trying and make sure you have a base next to your trap for easy stuff retrieval after death.

if your level 39 or 30 and you have a spear thats made out of metal you dont need anything to kill it just have a shield and a metal spear to kill this is chat is only for killing the argentavis

Ok so , first step is preparation , you can get meat , prime meat or kibble (argentavis needs stego kibble) then you need to make a trap and for that trap you wil meed 5 stone dinosaur door frames and 2 reinforced dinosaur doors then you need to find an argy which want to tame then lure it inside your trap ( there are tutorial vids on youtube for building the trap ) then just knock it out with the tranq arrows and then use the starve method i which you need to knockout the dino and then let it starve (feed it things that will increase its torpor while knocked so it doesnt wake up while youre tying to starve it) then after it has starved feed it the meat or prime meat or stego kibble

And congrats You got yourself an argy now craft a saddle and explore ( argys reduce weight of metal, crystal, and organic polymer when it carries the stuff itself ) hope this helped 😁

May seem a bit extra but once I have it in a trap, I drag a body to it to harvest & then knock it out

They can pick up Titanoboas, you may get bit once by the snake but after you pick them up they can’t really hit you, so you can peck them to death once you pick them up :)

I suggest a crossbow,narcotics(not the berries if u can get just normal narcotics),RARE FLOWERS MIGHT BE UR HERO unlesss ur on foot,get about 4 stone or wood dino gates place them infront of each other and make sure the 2 at each end has the door for it,then trap the argy inside,knock out your argy and there u go(if u have a balm great!)

Step 1: go to redwood or places near by (walk there or use a ptera,to tame a ptera look in its section)

Step 2: find the argy u want,make sure u have tranqs,meat,narcotics or narco berries(argys take a while make sure u have a quite a few of each)

Step 3:once knocked if you have soothing balm that will help you a lot!

Step 4:enjoy your argy have fun with it,you’ll get to breed if you have 2 of the opposite genders(male & female),explore with ur argy and hope u get muts!

I know a lot of people know this but for the people that don't, when an RG eats a quart so he gets a healing buff that drains hunger quickly. Now I'm going to tell you how to use this to your advantage, when your RG starts to torpor run, kill small Dino that you can drag and drag it to your RG so that it eats it and then try to knock it out in the amount of time that it has its healing buff, around 20 second. Once you have knocked out your RG put your tanning food in and it will quickly eat it. because it's food is drained almost completely, if you aren't able to knock it out in this duration of time does timing method won't work.

Yo if you never want to die again dont explore alone. Take a mount with you! Argies are mu favorite mounts;

they can carry many heavy things that you cant (like metal)

They can pick up most animals (or players hehehehe) and transport them (like, for example, you find a unicorn. You can use an argi to transport it to a safe spot to tame it.)

They FLY! That means that you dont have to attack things if you dont want to. Like, you can just fly into the sky to escape. And you get places faster!

They level up stats FAST! It doesnt take very long to get the attack damage at 200. It doesnt take very long to get the health at 10000. And thats awesome!

They are carnivores. So, on the plus side, you dont have to spend time gathering berries for them. They have food whenever you kill something. But, on the minus side, that means they attack you in the wild. But then again, more pluses, THAT means you can tame them easier cause they will follow you into a trap!

These birds are found in mountains, if you want one, which you should BECAUSE THESE ARE THE BEST MOUNTS! In my opinion. Cough

Argys are easy to knockout but you need a lot of narcotics you could just use the bow from the dilo hunt achievement just make sure it’s alone they will swarm you.

I breed Argentavis’s it’s pretty hard because they need a cold area for there egg so all you need is three Dino gates and doors then put them kinda near by then get them to fly right at you then lead them towards you and make them fly in the trap then you feed them meat and then wait for them to tame up then you have an Argentavis!I hope you liked my taming & Knock out tip😁

I didnt know him cause of im a beginner..... But its easy to tame and its the best dino i have ever seen.... Its fast and it can carry that much... I like it...
