Tips & Strategies

What are tips for argentavis? Tips and strategies for argentavis in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If you ever encounter one in the wild, and you are in an early stage in the game, run the opposite direction. Also try not to agrovate it unless you are up to the KO/Fight.
Good luck if you encounter it!
Pumping the health stat on them creates arguably one of the highest damage taker and giver when fighting big Dinos. A high level argy can easily take down an allosaurus, Rex, Diplo, bronto, and many many more. I usually like to get a high level one and go eliminate a few big dunks in the chalk hills on Valguero
If you want to tame one instantly it can be pretty easy to do, while you run from the argy, go past a corpse (it will also eat another argy corpse which is useful) and when it harvests the body it will have effects on its head. This means it’s in Rapid Regeneration, knock it out quick while this is happening. Then when it’s out, it will have no food and take instantly. Now you have an argy!
Argentavis: All you need to know
The Argentavis, or argy, is a tanky arial that is favored in many ways among survivors. Having the body of a giant eagle and the head and neck of a vulture, the argy is a truly unique and amazing creature. Argys can carry a larg multitude of items at more efficient amounts. Especially stones and obsidian. Some have even made their Argentavis’ saddle a mobile smithy. Being rather slow, argys best used for carrying large loads of goods, rather that just travel. They do have good stamina in the air and the ability to heal themselves when eating fresh carcasses, so some do disagree. To tame one of these magnificent birds, it’s best to use a trap. Simply lead a unsuspecting argy into a closed box trap, and then tranqu it from there. They are carnivores, so feed an argy meat and mutton to earn its trust. To kill an argy you can use a large, tanky mount, or another flyer with high melee. Shotguns are also a good tool to use against these things. This is all for today but I hoped this helped you in any way.
Sincerely, Ember (Aka, Sarco Master 🐊)

Found commonly on the dead island to the far northeast of the map me and my tribemate crafted a raft and set sail to the dead island from the southern islets it only took a few minutes before we got there my tribemate ran of to get some red treasure while I tamed the argy it was super easy I just shot it with my gg tranq arrow (mod easy taming) fed it some meat and boom bada boom it was tamed unfortunately our raft got destroyed so we had to make another one after that we had our argy! More about easy taming adds gg tranq arrow rapidly increases torpor and drains food available at level 1 for 0 engram points!
For your first, the Northeast Shores, there are a few that spawn there but beware of Rexes, Allos, Carnos and Raptors, also the beach head along the northwest coast, just short of the snow biome. Other than that, they spawn on mountain tops - but that's more dangerous area.
Best advice: Tame a pteranodon first. Kite the prospective Argie to a safe location and into a trap. Tranq with a crossbow (bow can kill) and tame with prime meat, mutton or kibble.
Argie traps:
1. Trapper Raft. Must have ceiling and two doors. Pros- can be sailed close to location and tame on water away from potential threats. Cons - initial investment of time + material.
2. Dino Gate trap.
4 stone gates placed sequentially half a foundation apart with doors on first and last. Lure into the trap on ptera and close gate behind you, dismount, close 2nd gate. Cons - exposed to smaller predators during taming. Use spiked wall perimeter.
Use stone, can destroy wood/thatch.
Simply side step the talon attack like a bull fighter then as she lines you up again take the beak shot ... rinse and repeat
I knocked out lvl 129 (while hunting it i died twice, once becouse alfa raptor) almost lost my own argy
AND THEN 2 SMALL DISGUSTING MICRORAPTORS KILLED HIM. I HATE THEM
hardest part of taming an argy is the location. keep an eye out for rexes, allos, and other argys while the one you're taming is out
This has been said before but I'm writing it a tad differently than top comment, this is the method I use in solo play. These are a very easy tame if you have any type of fabricated weapon. Find an Argy that's away from the group, aggro it, then kill something else with a sidearm or assault rifle while it's attacking you, get near the dead body and when it attacks you (and hits the carapace) it'll get green health buff above it's head.
Knock it out and it's an insta tame.
Since they are scavengers you can just kill a large Dino and every Argie in the area will come for the corpse then just surprise tranq them.
Keep it at range trust me it has saved my life countless times
They can’t be bola and they also don’t have call damage so if you knock it out in the air it won’t damage the argentavis
Trap it sleep near it (single player) then knock it. Easy tame with only meat and little narcotics (for higher levels
I know normal raw meat works as well, but prime meat at least triple's the speed of their taming. I tamed a level 150 today and it took 3 pieces of raw prime meat to tame it. Hope this helps you guys with taming!
You can instant tame an arg, just need to almost knock it out, and check its torpor with a magnifiant glass, stop shooting it and give it a dead body. Once the arg eats it, shoot it really fast while it has its healing buff. If it’s knock out and still has its buff, the food will drain super fast. GLHF!
In Ark: Survival Evolved (mobile) Argentavis is one of the best aerial tame in the game.
It has a 50% weight reduction to some resources in the game, meaning you can carry twice as much the following resources:
-Black Pearls
-Crystal
-Metal
-Metal Ingots
-Obsidian
-Organic Polymer
-Polymer
-Stone
Its saddle also acts as a mobile smithy.
I recommend leveling up its multiple Argentavis for different rolls. I normally have two rolls, one to gather resources and the other for combat.
Resource Gathering Roll:
-Primary: Stamina
-Secondary: Weight
-Tertiary: Movement Speed
Combat Roll
-Primary: Health
-Secondary: Melee
-Tertiary: Stamina
They can carry the following creatures:
-Human
-Dodo
-Dilophosaurus
-Kairuku
-Oviraptor
-Lystrosaurus
-Compsognathus
-Mesopithecus
-Jerboa
-Titanomyrma
-Dung Beetle
-Araneomorphus
-Titanoboa
-Phiomia
-Pachycephalosaurus
-Raptor
-Terror Bird
-Castoroides
-Pulmonoscorpius
-Beelzebufo
-Megaloceros
-Direwolf
-Sabertooth
-Arthropluera
-Procoptodon
-Diplocaulus
-Kaprosuchus
And the last thing i can think of is when they eat a dead creature they gain a buff to regenerate their health and stamina faster for a few seconds.
