In mobile version they don't use stamina while gliding and can glide the player regardless of his weight for example my archaeopteryx has 33kg weight while I had 300kg iron on me , glided just fine from redwood hill to all the way to herbivore island(my base) without any issue... Well there was a problem thou that archaeopteryx would not land as it never ran out of stamina so I had to whistle my Tapejara and get on it to land. This is possibly a bug so use it while u can ;) happy infinite gliding.
P.S. I was not in godmode or infinite stats.
Be VERY cautious when gliding with one of these. I had ventured to the volcano for some amber and metal searching, and I jumped off and began gliding with my little Archae named Skaikru. When I accidentally tapped the screen (Be aware, I am on mobile.) And I chucked little Skaikru right into the outskirts of Redwoods, with my army Valkyrie following my plummeting body all the way down.
Moral: If you’re on mobile whilst gliding with one of these, DO NOT TAP THE SCREEN.
If you start off in the ocean biome, there great early games as they can travel from Island to island. All you need to knock it out is a bola and club, and the chitin used to tame it can be bought from Helena or gathered from trilobites.
These creatures happen to be one of the best ways to get around, if you know how to use them. Have an ally pick you up with an Argy whilst you are holding one, have them fly up a decent height, and have them let go. You will literally be able to do laps around the map's edges without touching the ground if you know what you're doing! (Some training is required, so that you don't, say, accidentally throw it mid-air.)
Most people think this chicken is useless but you can use the archaeopteryx to fly for an unlimited amount of time! Just have an argy (or any other flying creature) on follow with a low following distance and when it is low on stamina drop from your bird and go back on it after a few seconds.... your bird is now full of stamina!
