Won't assault you however if you go near it it will flee. This is because it's skittish in temperment. If you wish to tame keep this in mind

On mobile these guys tend to glitch out a lot, so try to shoot them when there completely still on a tree. When glitching they often just teleport tree to tree and/or slowly slide down the tree until they fall to the floor (from my experience you cannot hurt or knock them out in this state)

Don’t mistake these with microraptors, but don’t mistake those for these things. The difference is that one is afraid of everything that runs away as soon as you come near it, then flies away, then the other isn’t afraid of anything that’s basically a homing missle that can’t miss, and makes things really dangerous

It's used as like a parachute but has more control than a parachute so if u fall off your bird it's very useful

For the people that ask if archaeopteryx can be tame in mobile, the answer is YES. However it seems like Bola or tranq it while archaeopteryx on the ground won't work but tranq it while it still on the tree seems would work. Also bring some narcs or bio toxins cuz their torpor drain a bit fast. I already tamed 2 earlier 😆

These should be shoulder mounts. Disco, my Archaeopteryx from a dungeon, is absolutely amazing. Maybe have the saddle icon for gliding, and the pick-up icon for a shoulder mount? Just an idea. I love this dinosaur.

CALLING ALL MOBILE PLAYERS

Use these to complete the ‘Thin Air’ pursuit! They don’t count as a mount and will work as a parachute. Get to the start of the volcano path (you can use a flier to do that, as long as it’s before you start the pursuit) first then climb up the volcano while holding an archaeopteryx. Keep a bodyguard around or drop your archaeopteryx somewhere flat while you quickly fight off the danger. The pursuit is made easy.

I had made a base in red wood and was up in the trees when I heard a scream, I look around me spot one of these guys are immediately knew that I needed one of these

Tell me, tell me will it eat berries after tamed or they are chitin eaters? I want to tame one so i need to know

Many people do not know that you can stop it’s gliding with (square for PS4) (X for Xbox) not sure what it is for PC, but then by pressing the same button again you’ll glide downward faster!

The arceopterix can be used as a living parachute and when set on wander in the red woods it will collect a lot of sap 7/10

I’ve found taming them very easy if you chase them with a fast equus (or unicorn) and kick them in the face a few times.

If your on a flyer like a pt, you can dismount it in the air with a archaeopteryx and get back on the flyer and it will have full stamina. Make sure you dismount your flyer high up so it doesn't land and get killed

Have someone air drop you on the mountain top. Mine as much metal/crystal as u can carry. Jump and float home.

If you tame one to be a good parachute it is useful to note that you can't use tools or weapons while holding one.

This may seem obvious but if you see an egg TAKE IT! Once taken the female will agro you, knock it out with tranqs and then badaboom it's yours! These guys are a pain in the ass to find and/or tame so taking an egg is probably the easiest way to get em (especially on mobile since they glitch out)

Can occasionally be found on the ground. If so, bola and knock out with fists, I fear that anything else might kill it. Feed a little chitin and boom an adorable feathered parachute!
