Their usually found in the red woods, and are often times found climbing trees, but I have seen a few on the ground. If your looking to tame one, I’d suggest getting several bola, and crouch near it, and bola it down, a lvl 50 or so should only take 3-4 darts, anything above that will be more, but they shouldn’t take much. After that or before, grab some chitin, I’d suggest getting 100+ incase, they don’t rot but you never know if you’ll find a high lvl one you don’t have enough for.
If your also on multiplayer and your close to cap, I’d suggest waiting for cap to go off, before fully knocking one out. I made the mistake of doing it with cap and mine starved to death cause you can’t force feed them chitin

Fun fact, archaeopteryx was very important for it was the creature that confirmed the theory of birds being linked to dinosaurs. 🙂
I see the Otter God, the Jerboa King and the Defender of Bulbdogs made an early move. Now I the Archaeopteryx Lord shall rise. If any one of you guys kill these birbs I will look for you and feed your soul to the ravenous birbs I own. So if you see one my birbs Naruto running away for you, DO NOT kill it instead be its friend, they are a great parachute and they are wholesome creatures to begin with. Archys actually eat chitin even after they’ve been tamed. Don’t make the same mistake I did and let it die of hunger trying to figure out what it eats…
IS AN ARCHAEOPTERYX WORTH IT?
Well…..
It is in my opinion cause it’s a very easy tame and good glider. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GETTING A PARACHUTE! These are very fun! However getting down from one is difficult,But otherwise get one very easy. Steps below
1. Get a bow and a tranq arrow
2. Get 1 narcotic 1-5 for levels
3. Kill a scorpion and get the chitin
4. Knock out and feed chitin
5. You have a living parachute
So now you what good it is, it has downsides as well:
Very hard to get down.
The place it is located is very hard and dangerous.
BUT. They can collect sap and other stuff.
Is it worth it? YES IT IS!
I forgot to mention this but it is found in the redwoods.

Hi there! Just wanted to share a quick tip for mobile players!
So basically these birbs are kinda bugged on mobile so you can't shoot at them with tranqs whenever they're on trees. So I suggest y'all to simply wait for them to get on land and then shoot them (One tranq dart is enough, normally), or you can just bola one then shoot it. Just keep in mind that you just CAN'T shoot them while they're on trees.

People say its not on mobile tell that to my glider
They are very fast and will only eat chitin. They run away when they see you or you tranq them. Breeding takes chitin too so have lots of chitin. They hide in trees and I have only seen females so Esther males are rare or I’m very bad at finding them
