Don't put points into its movement speed if you want to glide faster. It glides as fast you run, so putting points into your movement speed will increase how fast it will glide. Hope this saves you from wasting levels like me : )

Hit X (on Xbox controller) to stop and start glide.

If you tame one and put it in wander near a redwood tree it will eventuly collect sap (descovered that this morning while i wanted it to wander in my small dino enclosur)

Some youtubers say that they are useless. WRONG. They are better than wasting time crafting a parachute and they can attack and they are small so very hard to target. I saw one of these drill through a rex and the thing didn’t even take damage once and the rex died.

On switch, to land fast press Y to start falling, while flying press Y to fly again to not take any fall damage.

Oh archaeopteryx, you little chicken on steroids. This little guys is just a whole load of fun. They can carry you over vast distances, but also double as a, hey you seem to be falling, lemme help you out. However, getting down can be a bit of a problem. Otherwise... WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO OH YEAH IM RIDING THE SKY USING THE POWER OF A LITTLE CHICKEN THING

I thought this was a funny useless tame until I got one on scorched earth. It is so fun and cool gliding over rexes and jumping off cliffs while being chased by baddies. My dear little Archie has saved me through and through.

You need a running start to gain momentum and speed while gliding, and the (X) button on xbox will start/stop gliding mid air. (Dunno the control for other platforms)

Don't jump of a bird at the world ceiling with one of these. It takes way longer than you expect to hit the ground.

Well since they take forever to land, I think of it more as a flying mount alternate. Note: plus in the red woods, put on wander and they will collect sap over time.
