The Ankylo is a great creature for harvesting metal rock, it gets around 70 metal per hit, and take’s out rocks with one hit.

(Mobile players) Tame about 5 or more of these-or breed and imprint*optional them if ya want after finding both male&female, and then with your anky squad bring via eagle or quetz"if ya have one by now" or teleport them all to metal mountain 🤭"Ahem!!!"...tallest mountain close to center of map... and then set them on wander to smack-a-doo whatever they beef with up there..."psst...there is alot of rocks and metal veins up there including some crystal". Let them handle their to do's for a min or so then command whistle follow all and watch the troopers run over to inspect their quarry, if any or all havent clocked some work in then bring em to a spot not cleared yet whilst still following then whistle stop all...are they still set on wander mode...? Maybe. Transport your load any method by wings, land mount, or personal favorite by foot to your humble abode and relish in a decent amount of sparkies and heavy stuff to put into heavy shiny stuff maker...theres probably an easier way to make those but i havent found it yet so yeah back and forth up and down the rocky earth pimple gushing with the temporary metal and rock goo i go...i did try using parachutes but...i set my abode in the humble safety of herb island...yeah...anywho-diddly its impooossible for anyone to make a base or something up there, i have no idea where anyone including me to find the stuff to make it up there since mountians barely hold and trees and plants...just rocks....lotsa rocks. G'day! 😁🤙

The deo may not collect obsidian any more but this animal collects tons of it. It can also be carried by an Argie and the Argie decreases the weight of obsidian. If you get my gist it is super easy to get tons of obsidian

The metal GOAT. This guy is your answer to all metal structures and equipment.

If you invest enough xp in speed, they make a good average speed mount. If you hit the yellow rocks, you will get more metal than you will know what to do with!

Using an anky + a quetz to get obsidian in large quantities when you live far from mountains seems useful, the quetz can carry the anky there and hold a decent amount of obsidian, and the anky gathers it and can hold some, hope this is helpful

As most know, the anky gathers flint, metal, obsidianand similar resources very well, BUT it comes with an added bonus. An anky can "gather" these items from a rock elemental corpse, so it can be used to gather tons of resources from them, as long as it has backup (I.e. Another tamed rock elemental) to help killing the wild ones. P.S. Ankys do NOT do "normal" damage to elementals, surprisingly.

Best dino for farming flint and metal. Level melee rather than weight. You can use a whip to move it once its encumbered.

Interestingly, they are faster in water than on land. I've hit up metal nodes underwater with these guys, probably just under the same speed as a frog while swimming

On map fjordur you can find X-ankylosaurs on volcano island and they look way cooler than the normal ones.

These guys are great mid-level tames. You knock them out like most other creatures and shove food up their face. They make great stone, metal, or flint harvesters but I though about this while taming one today. What If there was a setting that they would harvest any nearby mineral/rock, AND you could chose what they harvest. For example, you go to options, see a setting button that says “ Harvest setting “ and click on it. Once you open that up, you can choose what you want your tame to harvest. Metal, stone, flint etc. it goes around hitting rocks and ONLY collecting stone, like you wanted it to. Have a great day!

The ankylosaurus is a tank of a creature and has damage reduction on all parts of the body. They have weight reduction on metal but not ingots and can gather a lot of metal, stone , and crystals

Great metal heads and crystal harvesting but do not use them for oil! A metal pick is best. The resourse menu for oil is wrong with the Anky

700% melee and you can easily get 100 metal out of a normal node on 1x, its insanely strong! Took mine with an 88 armor saddle into bear cave and massacred the entire place with its bite attack. Theyre great:)

Thylaceo is the best mountain climbing animal (for omever said they are the best) I play with my brother on the island I got a dire Bear and he got a thylaceo I may be a bit faster but he can climb up walls for (Pete sake) I'm not mad just a fact check trust me on this

The fact that it harvests not only metal, but almost all other plant and natural resources (except fiber) makes it one of the most valuable tames. If paired with an argy, the two are the key to limitless potential.
