Great for collecting keratin bones and metal at the surface entrances on abberation.

They really shine in scorched earth, as they are everywhere. Its fairly easy to tame a legion of them with a few boomerangs. Early on this can provide you with a solid defense. And once you can make a saddle you can get to mining huge amounts of metal, obsidian, and crystal from the mountains. Have other dinos like kentros or morella to carry the obsidian and crystal as the ankys don't have reduced weight on those, they should be fine carrying stacks of metal. Weirdly they seem to have lower base health than doedicurus, but stronger attacks. Also they can harvest huge amounts of flint from regular rocks to make sparkpowder.

Weight and melee is all you need to have an amazing ankylo Melee for getting more metal and weight for holding it

Don't keep it near water.Megapirhna can easily kill it in group.Rip my Anky.Megapirhna killed it when I was away.

In ark mobile these Ankylosaurus are so important if you're in a tribe, ingots are not a problem anymore if you have ankylo and argen, just upgrade ankylo Melee and weight for argentavis= easy metal

If you have a boomerang just walk backwards while throwing at there head to knock out.

If you can tame an argy and an ankylo and just go everywhere you can find metal then you won’t have to worry about having to take your argy and ankylo then have to drop your Ankylo and get metal all you have to do is fly over metal and hit R2 or RT ( I think for XBOX) and you should have it in your ankylo

Empty it’s inventory go to a mountain (preferably one with lots of metal Obsidian stone and crystal ) request it and just let it go ham on the resources

If you want to use these in space on Gen 2, don’t. Just use a mining drill, it’s better and you don’t have to drag any creatures around.

Magmasaurs are better then ankies, but Magmasaurs are only available in Gen 1, so use an anky if you can't get/don't want to get a magmasaur.

Believe it or not, they are just as good at fighting as they are utility dinos. They have really far knockback and good melee. I've taken on packs of raptors, allos, and carnos with ease.

I have an Ankylosaurus at Herbivore Island that I use for metal mining. Since this is coming from ARK Mobile, the metal rocks resplendent rather quickly. Because of all of this, I have 500+ metal ingots stored up in my smithy, ready to be used for something late-game. Tame an Ankylosaurus at Herbivore Island, they will get you all of the metal. Just make sure your Ankylosaurus has good weight for maximum efficiency.

Yeah, ankys are really good for metal, but people don’t realize that if you need berries, wood, or thatch, ankys are really good

It will be in redwoods, herbivores island and along slopes of the volcano mountain. Tame a guy, put him in the volcano, setup a forge, there will be ton of metal, obsedian and crystal. You will have huge source of metal ingot.

No one is talking about this but the anky has two attacks, but I do not know all resource gathering this is from my experience.

First (R2, I play ps4): good for metal, thatch, stone, and flint.

Second (L2): good for berries and wood (from small trees that are on SE)

It is the second best metal gatherer but super slow so bring argents to grind metal effectively. It also becomes useless once you have a magmasaur.

If you don’t have a Dunkle yet for oil gathering, these guys are pretty good at it too, but have some dung beetles for producing oil too so you can have a home source.

Me and my tribe mate were pretty new to the game and we needed metal as we were always low on rifel ammo so we got Anklo we got two .For some reason we got 2 level 50 end 73 they both were mates and they're perfect for going to mountains now we collect metal in duos with both and it is efficient
