Btw if you are on ps4 or pc or xbox you can tame a lvl 162 no narcotics needed but if using dried wheat it wont work you'll need narcotics(will take a long time with berries)

Sooo hard 2 find I couldn’t find one on The Island at all

Just pick it up with your Argentavis and drop it into your taming-room. A very easy tame, if you are doing it like this. Have fun with tons of metal!

Powerful and a Tank, if you are lowlevel will be a great defensive tool.

Knocking it out is so easy, But most people aim for the body with tranq arrows/darts which slows down on the knocking out process. So instead aim for the head, it can speed up tue progress faster, I already tested this and it works.

Brilliant way to avoid damage is using a net from the harpoon gun, just requires lots of metal and cementing paste , and you can simply use organic poly for the net projectile itself . Once netted it can be knocked out at your leisure.

There's lots of them on herbivore island for noobes its the island in the bottom right corner

They now gather metal automatically when directly next to one. Use and argentavis to hold it and hover it over metal nodes for easy metal gathering. -E

Collecting: wood=thatch. Fiber<berries. Metal>flint=stone. (Won’t harvest bodies)

very useful for collecting metal and flint, however if you are looking for an animal to collect stone, tame a doedicurus that are great for that. both are great animals and easy to tame. you will definitely want to have them in your base

It's Really important for bases Because it can Actually fight a Rex in a 1v1

i know most people are talking about how much metal it gets, which is fair. it does get a lot. but I'm gonna talk about the opposite. it's damage. it actually has pretty good damage! 50 at base. (12 less than a rex!) potentially viable for boss fights.

It breaks thatch very slowly but it can’t break wood fast either so I would recommend these two materials

For places where there is most metal, look for waterfalls with GOLDEN rocks underneath, behind or around it and mine them with the anky guaranteed better odds than normal rocks. The second place is rocks with gold streaks in them, they also have better odds than normal rocks but are hard to see at night.

For taming make sure to aim for the legs and once it runs away don’t stop that is when it is closest to being knocked out.

PS bolas don’t work on it so don’t waste them trying to catch one (I think).

A great way to tame any passive dino is to use billboards. They work similarly to the dinosaur gateway method.

Prep: Kibble, narcotics (if necessary), tranq arrows/darts and 3-4 wooden billboards.

Step 1: Approach the dino, placing the first billboard as to trap its head. If done correctly, the dino will attempt to keep walking as normal, stuck underneath the structure.

Step 2: Place the remaining billboards around the dino, ensuring that it will not escape once aggravated. Make sure there are no large gaps between the boards.

Step 3: Prepare your preferred method and knock out the dino. The dino will not attempt to break the structure. If the dino is a passive tame, this step will not be necessary.

Step 4: Tame the dino and defend it.

Enjoy your new dino.

Good for metal harvest if looking for something with carrying lots of metal and can harvest a lot of flint also increase damage and speed these can be good if they have high damage
