Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a andrewsarchus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a andrewsarchus.
If you use cactus broth, you can tame it without killing off all other andrews in the area, and it won’t aggro if you get bucked.
✨The easiest and fastest way to tame an Andrew :)✨~ First, you must have honey in order to lure it, or else you will be unable to ride it. You can usually find some honey crops (they look like square stones with honey combs sticking out) around the area you’ll find an Andrew (they usually spawn around certain open fields, go to google to find some spawns) once you spot a Andrew, make sure you single one out, make sure there isn’t another one near by, or a deadly predator to close either, they could distract the Andrew and/or kill you. Once you have the opportunity, put honey in your hot bar and press whatever button you need to use it, the honey will be thrown decently far from you (MAKE SURE YOU'RE CROUCHED AND NOT TO CLOSE TO IT). If it is close enough then the Andrew will slowly walk towards it, once it’s head goes down to eat it sprint up to it and ride it like you would a tamed creature, two arrows will appear on your screen, when one lights up (it will look bright white), turn your joystick or press whatever button you must to turn it in that same direction. Keep a close eye on the RED bar under the other bar with the taming progress on it, once the line is close, leap off (if you don’t, it will kick you off and attack you) then, throw out more honey and repeat the process until it is tamed! (Tip: if you get kicked off and are chased off or die but are able to spawn close, go into your tame section in your inventory (it will be one of the boxes at the very top) and click on the Andrew you’re taming, it will track it and show you its stats tame-wise!) - DJ Fox
You don't need a full set of ghillie I did it with only 3 pieces and crouched
Have honey in your hotbar, crouch behind/ near it, use honey in hotbar to throw it, ride andrewsarchus, to steer use left analog stick or A and D for PC, lastly make sure to jump off before the taming bar gets fully red to prevent it kicking you off and aggro on to you. Goodluck!
Also how does it harvest silica pearls?
Personally would HEAVILY recommend taming one of these in Asgard as opposed to Midgard. Seems like plenty more of mostly flat, large open land for you to mount them on as you’re taming.
It is possible to tame one at level one you only need to harvest honey, run up to one a few steps back so it wont argo on you, crouch and toss the honey once it eats the honey run up and do the prompts and before it kicks you off jump off of it and crouch right away and repeat - someone who has 3 now at the start of the game
Use honey to tame it first tame tip
Dumb but important tip you need to HOLD the steering nit tap. Also yes hop off right before the red meter gets full to avoid the kick to the face. Ghilie not required.
If you put honey onto a fishing rod it stops the honey from spoiling indefinitely!!!
Don’t stress this tame this is easy since all you need is Giant bee honey.
Final. Get Giant bee honey take it to the Andrew use ghillie armor just in case.
Then after a while it’s all yours. Good luck!!
When taming watch the red bar, hop off just before the bar fills up, back away from it while crouched and throw more honey. Rinse and repeat!
1) Full Ghillie Suit
2) Put honey in hotbar slots.
3) Crouch walk 10-15m away and throw honey.
4) Ride that buckin pig!
5) dismount before red bar fills up to avoid losing taming effectiveness, the kick off will cost you dearly.
6) Put on some black sabbath and run around the map shooting everything in your path.
As long as you are not sprinting you will not need ghillie gear
Carry honey on fishing rods as it will have no timer . Also carry glow sticks painted white, handy for taming that special 150 in the dark. Keep a desmo in the first slot of hot bar to make quick getaway, make sure its on passive first.
Always see some at 60, 25 on fjordr. The honey goes in your hot bar drop it from there. Bring a crossbow and grappling hook. If it throws you off grapple up a hill or tree and wait a bit. It will lose interest and walk off and you can throw down more honey and continue taming.
High level is worth it, Hop on, steer, no less than ten minutes. Kill everything dangerous around first as well.
Get ready for a lot of honey since you will need it for this method aka early game just starting
I have .8 rates or .4 not on single player settings since I’m lonely but you get a metal hatchet and get a lot of honey around maybe 20 you find the one you like I got lucky whith a lvl 200 and use it like a cartoon path placing a few in a line to a better location and just continue your basic movements of tamein
Also every location that an Andrew spawn has at least 2 honey rocks except on the flatland mountains in vanna land good luck and I hope this works for you as well as it did for me
This may be a good farmer, but I also think it may be a passive tame.
second tip.
SurviveTheArk.com Official News: Andrewsarchus will be an upcoming creature in June on map fjordjur. Taming will require honey (Andrewsarchus is a passive tame and does not attack) . Once tamed the saddle will have a minigun that acts like a turret. Abilities are that it gathers silica pearls better than any creature so far, and it’s minigun saddle. This creature is aquatic but will be on land for taming.
You don’t need gillie you just have to crouch and it be near by ( will Agro/see you if you move to much or honey is to far away).
P.s. other creatures will eat honey.
