The Island- chapter III
Marcel sat up fast, panicked and hyperventilating. He swore he could still feel the dinosaurs jaws around his throat. He reached his hand up to his neck and felt…nothing. He was alive. He looked down at his wrist and saw he still had that strange diamond shaped crystal embedded in his left wrist. It seemed to be glowing strongly. He looked back up and saw about 200 feet away was the dinosaur that had attacked him. Eating his corpse. Marcel’s corpse. He gagged, But then it dawned on him. He didn’t survive the attack. He died. But somehow, some way, he was alive again. He couldn’t even comprehend what this meant. Marcel…couldn’t die.
Just then he noticed his stone pick, lying in the sand some distance away. He must have thrown it in the struggle with the the dinosaur, a dilophosaur he assumed. He wondered if he could somehow retrieve it without the beast noticing. The dinosaur had a nasty gash in its side, and appeared to be badly injured. Slowly, he began army crawling over to his weapon, trying desperately not to make any noise. It took him a few minutes, but somehow the creature didn’t notice him. It was too busy tugging on his insides. Disgusting, thought Marcel. He reached his pick, braced himself for what he was about to do. Here goes nothing, he thought. He picked up his tool, stood up and charged the dilo, screaming like a madman. By the time the dilo looked up and realized what was happening, Marcel was already on top of it. Screaming and swinging his pickaxe. The dinosaur rolled over and started kicking furiously, and it managed to scratch Marcel in the chest with its claws, but it was too late. Marcel swing at the beasts head, and pushed the pick deeper into its skull. The creature twitched, and went limp. Marcel had won.
Marcel, bruised, battered, and covered in blood, dragged the body over to his shelter of sorts. He dropped it by the teepee, and began making a fire, with wood, stones, and a few snall pieces of flint he had chipped off a large boulder near his tent. As the fire began to burn, he sat down and cleaned his kill with his pick and a hatchet he had made earlier, from a piece of flint and wood. He used the hatchet blade to skin the animal, and the to cut it open and remove the innards. Once that was done, Marcel cut up the meat that was left and stuck it over the fire with sticks. As the meat was cooking, Marcel thought, he would make some clothes with the hide from the dinosaur. Marcel spent the meat few hours by the light and warmth of the fire making himself a pair of pants and shoes with the hide from the animal, weaving them together with the fiber from the nearly bushes. As he worked, he ate some of the meat he cooked. It tasted delicious, almost like duck. It was the dead of night by the time Marcel finished his pants and shoes. He put them on and was pleased, tomorrow he would make a shirt to match them. And so, Marcel’s first day in this place came to a close…

Fires and the Flood, Chapter One...
Arion ran atop the roof of a metal building, in... one of many Wyvern civilizations. He ran along the buildings, his feathers blowing in the wind. He suddenly slid to a stop, nearly skidding off the edge. He looked down, seeing a bunch of Wyverns and a few raptors walking through the streets. He flattened himself to the roof, waiting for the wyverns to stop coming. Suddenly, however, something surprising happened. An explosion caused part of a building to collapse, causing the wyvern and raptor citizens to flee in fear. He watched as a Raptor, who was wearing some kind of mask and what looked sort of like the Raptor equivalent of a Wyvern spy suit, a Fire Wyvern, and a Managarmr jumped into the smoke, coming out with a bunch of crates. He jumped down from the roof, grabbing a crate before the Managarmr could grab it. "Ay, thanks for doing all the dirty work!" He said, smirking and running away. "Hey!!" The Managarmr yelled. "Get that kid!!" His head flicked back again, and he saw the masked raptor chasing him. He pushed himself to run faster, his feet hitting the ground hard. He gritted his teeth, watching as the raptor began to gain on him. He quickly ducked into an alleyway, the crate still in his mouth. He needed to hide. The raptor would catch him with the crate slowing him down. As he ran, suddenly something hit his side. He was slammed into a wall, and he put a claw to his head. "Ugh..." He said, rubbing his head. He looked up, seeing the raptor above him. The raptor was a her. Her foot was firmly on his side, pinning him to the ground. Her mask slid down, and he got a good look at her face. She had electric blue eyes, with smoky topaz feathers that faded to a darker topaz, with pretty light blue markings. His eyes sparkled. She was quite a pretty she-raptor. She rolled her eyes, as if she could tell what he was thinking. She pushed her foot down harder on him. He huffed. "You're coming with us." She hissed. He smirked. He tried to slip out from under her foot, clawing towards the crate, but failed as the she-raptor dug her claws into his side. He winced, feeling the sharpness of her claws. "Hey, look." He said. "I'm just like you, y'know! Stealing to survive. That's it." "You don't know anything about us!" Growled the Fire Wyvern. "Well- I-" He said. "Why else would you be stealing?" The Wyvern growled. "Maybe we're trying to help people." She hissed. He scoffed. "As if." He said. "Nobody helps people anymore." The Managarmr looked at him. "We do." He said. "We're a team." He huffed. "Can't you just let me go if you're so goody-goody?" He hissed, his confidence and patience fading. "No." The she-raptor said. And with that, the Managarmr picked him up by his neck scruff. He thrashed angrily, his feathers fluffing out. "You can't just grab me!" He spat. "Thats kidnapping!!" "Well you were stealing." The fire wyvern said. "Pretty fair sounding to me." He huffed. "Just let me go!!" He snarled, scratching at the empty air. He looked to the she-raptor, watching as she walked along, her feathers sleek and her head held high. "Look." He said, looking forward again. "What exactly did I do? I'm just trying to survive." Soon they came to a cave, and the group of creatures walked into it. "Hey, hey, hey!" He said. "You can't just take me into a cave!! That's a deathtrap!! That's murder!" The fire wyvern growled, smoke coming out of her nostrils. "You're starting to annoy me..." She snarled. She looked to the Managarmr. "Why can't we just kill him again?" She said. The she-raptor turned to the fire wyvern. "Because we don't kill people unnecessarily." She hissed. "And he was basically doing the same thing we were." The fire wyvern huffed. "We were doing it for good..." She growled. He sighed. They weren't letting him go any time soon. They soon came to a stone gate in the cave, and the fire wyvern knocked on it with her wing. Two raptors opened the gate, one of them looking towards the she-raptor and smiling, fluffing out his feathers. The she-raptor rolled her eyes, her tail twitching. Arion snarled and snapped at the raptors as the Managarmr passed them, causing them to jump back, hissing. He growled, annoyed. The group continued on, the fire wyvern and she-raptor setting down the crates they had in a pile of other crates. They then rejoined the Managarmr, as he walked up to another Managarmr. She sat in front of a table, one of her wings on a map. Her gaze flicked up, looking to the Managarmr that was carrying him. "Oh good, you're back." She said. "Did you get the crates?" The Managarmr sighed, setting him down. "Some of them..." He growled, looking to Arion. "This kid was trying to steal the crates after we did all the dirty work." He looked to the side, ignoring the Managarmr's comments about him. His eyes flicked to the she-raptor, and he saw her stacking the crates evenly. He slipped under the Managarmr, making sure he didn't notice as he slipped away. He walked over to the she-raptor, seeing as her feathers pricked up. He stopped next to her. "So..." He crowed. "My names Arion, what's yours?" She growled. "Halt die Klappe und lass mich in Ruhe!" She barked. He raised an eyebrow, before continued. "I have no idea what you just said," He started, "But are you going to tell me your name?" She growled, continuing to work. "Guess not..." He said. "Well, I'll just have to make you tell me then." He said. The she-raptor's feathers fluffed out. "Warum hältst du nicht die Klappe?!" She hissed, turning to him. He backed up. "Um..." He said nervously. "You do not sound happy." She rolled her eyes. "Ja, kein Scherz." She said. "Alrighty then." He said. "I'll just... not understand what you're saying." She sighed. He sat down, thinking. Maybe he really had messed up something important. "I'm sorry for ruining your mission or whatever..." He sighed. The she-raptor sighed. "I don't want to forgive you..." She said. "But that's the right thing to do... it's fine I guess. We still got some of the crates." He sighed. "You guys seem like real hard workers." He said. "Don't you get tired?" The she-raptor's tail twitched. "We get used to it." She said. "If you did it, you'd get used to it too." He nodded. "I see." He said, getting up. "I should probably go before that Managarmr thinks I escaped..." The she-raptor turned to him. "Natrix." She said. "My name is Natrix." He nodded. "Nice to meet you, Natrix." He said.

Chapter 3
When the sun rose the next morning I was surprised to see Chicken staring at me. We made DIRECT eye contact, I was scared. Was she gonna kill me? Was she planning on killing me? I sat up, “Hi Chicken?” I patted her head and picked her up. After carefully climbing down the tree I had noticed my fire still glowing brightly still. It should have gone out a while ago…
“Freeze! Who are you?” Someone shouted from behind me. I jumped and almost threw Chicken who was squawking loudly.
“Shut that bird up now!” They snapped.
“Shh, quiet Chicken!” I whispered. She fell silent, eyes darting around.
“Who are you?” They asked again
“L-lexi,” I answered
“Lexi?” I heard footsteps approaching and soon after a tall man appeared in front of me.
“Y-yes,” I said, eyeing the bow in his hands.
“I'm Pathro,” He said, lowering the bow.
“Who's the bird?” Pathro asked
“Her name is Chicken, makes me think of home,” I blushed, now realizing how foolish her name is.
“Do you know what she is?” Pathro stepped closer, watching me closely.
“I call them dodos…”
“Dodos?” He reached out to pet Chicken who tensed and then leaned forward.
“Not very bright,” Pathro chuckled
“I figured it would be nice to have company… I didn’t think anyone else had lived on this Island,” I set Chicken on the ground.
“Isla Periculum,” Pathro said
“What?”
“Isla Periculum. I named this island Isla Periculum because of all the dangerous creatures here. Periculum is the Latin word for dangerous,” He explained
“Oh…”
We talked for a while. He told me about the other creatures here and what he had named them. The duck-billed dinosaurs were called Parasuars and the large four legged creatures were called Triceratops. There were many others he had named as well.
“Very interesting,” I mused
“Yes very,” Pathro smiled
“So… Do you have any of these creatures as pets yet?” I held Chicken in my arms.
“Yes I do, they are the only reason I have made it this far,” He put his fingers to his lips and whistled. We sat in silence, waiting for whatever he had tamed to come. Soon a tall Parasaur peeked out from behind the rocks.
“Come here Duck,” Pathro held out his hand. The Parasaur known as Duck stepped forward and lowered it's head against Pathro’s palm.
“Wow, it's so pretty,” I smiled, amazed. Duck looks like a male mallard duck, perfectly named.
“He is my travel mount,” Pathro pulled himself onto the leather saddle that sat on Duck’s back. He held his hand out to help me up. I took it, and pulled myself onto the saddle, Chicken still in hand.
“Here, Chicken can sit here,” Pathro opened a large leather sack that hung from the side of the saddle where I gladly, and gently, slid the Dodo in.
“Hold on tight!” Pathro exclaimed as Duck launched into a dead sprint.
“Woah!” I laughed, practically squeezing the life out of Pathro. As we tore across the beach sand I took in my surroundings, amazed both by the beauty of it all and how lonely this place really was. I hadn’t expected to come across Pathro, and I doubt he had expected me. Still being lonely had actually begun to feel… Lonely. I'm glad to now have a companion, who, hopefully, will allow me to stay with him. I smiled at the thought of having a friend around, I was finally gonna make it, at least I hope I'll make it…
The Obelisk
-Chapter three-
“What?” Forest backed away, nearly tripping over his tail.
“Leave!” The other creature yelled again.
Forest focused his eyes on where the creature was laying. He was actually trapped under two large species of rock, which looked like they had been hunked out of the cave walls. “It’s alright,” Forest said to him. “I’ll help you. You’ve been in some sort of cave-in. Are you hurt?”
“This was no CAVE IN!” He roared.
Well he’s crazy, Forest thought. Of course it was a cave in. He must have been hit on the head. Forest reached out to him, but the dinosaur snapped at his talons before he could get close.
Forest lashed his tail. “I can help you.” He said firmly. “Then we’ll find a way to get you out of the Drake caves.”
“No,” the other said, his voice trembling. “You cannot help me.”
“Why?”
“Because you’ll get stuck too,” this creature was making no since. Forest leaped over him, pulled a chunk of rock off his tail, and tried to lift the boulder.
The other creature was shouting now, slamming his tail into the ground and scrabbling his back claws along the rocks floor. He whipped his around as much as he could to see Forest. “NO! Don’t DO THIS!”
“I’m not going to leave you here,” Forest said bravely. He slid the boulder off the dinosaurs leg, then pushed the next, freeing him. “There!” He cried with delight. “Your free!”
Seeing the dinosaurs whole body, he appeared to be a baryonyx, growling deep in his throat and glowering so hard at Forest it looked like he might explode.
“It’s coming. It coming! It’ll get you next!”
With a few chunks of rock?” Forest asked. “I can handle myself. Now let’s find you a way out of here.”
“Already know the way, know the way,” the baryonyx mumbled. “I’ll go the way. You. Leave before it comes back!”
“Alright I’ll go,” Forest said, climbing around him. “Jeeze, you sure you weren’t hit on the head?”
Then the baryonyx shrieked, loud with fear, and stumbled back with one arm stretched to point behind him.
Forest turned around.
