Chapter five

The hunters returned, dragging a dead diplo into the cave. It left a trail of blood as it was dragged in and dropped at the food area. Sylvia walked over to me.

“See it wasn’t that bad” she said.

“Yeah, I guess it was alright. I still would’ve preferred going on the hunt though.”

“I know, but you were injured.”

“I know why i couldn’t go. Doesn’t mean I’m happy about it.”

“Ok, that’s fair,” she said, laying down beside me. As I started drifting off to sleep, I heard a loud stomping outside the cave, followed by an alarmed roar from an Allo near the cave entrance.

I looked up, and to my horror, a Carno was charging right into the cave.
