Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a achatina? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a achatina.
Easy end game farming of these:
Extinction has the cryoball, cryofridge and Dino leash engrams... learn these.
Make and charge cryoballs.
Make cakes.
Make Dino leash.
Go hunting for the snails.
Tame them then cryo them.
Each cryoball holds one animal “frozen” until thrown back out (like a pokeball).
Continue until all your balls are filled.
Place snails, place Dino leash (they will have a “lock” above their heads.
Set them to roam and they stay inside the leash radius.
Feed cakes as normal when hungry. :-)
For a reason on xbox it doesnt eat needs fixing like so people can see
Taming Bar slightly drops between each feeding interval as it haves a big which causes Achatina to “forget“ she still haves cakes in her inventory. So bring more then any calculator tells you. 140 wild one lost 0,8% with each interval
Takes 10 cakes on 1x for a lvl 20, not 9.
You can finds lots of these snails in the city on extinction
While taming, there is period of 15 to 20 seconds after it eats a cake when the cake is in cooldown and is not recognized as food in the inventory. The taming percentage drops about 0.7% during this time, which is why the Dododex numbers are a little off.
TAMING TIP FOR MOST ANIMALS
Run around on a galli with your friend driving and you on the back. Shoot the animal from the back of the galli, they’ll never catch up.
The ones in the caves on scorched earth are tameable
If you want one of the snails then get your pternidon to pick it up and bring it to an inclosed space. Now you dont need veg cakes! I did this and its given my alot of past ever sense. Sorry qbout my spelling it sucks.
In pve your able to pick up with an argie
Can be carried in the mouth of an argy on PvE for easy taming.
They only eat veggie cake so make sure you have a good supply on hand before taming one
Don’t even take them, just pick them up and put them in a pen.
The Achatina is a passive tame, using the expensive resource of Sweet Vegetable Cake. Using a taming pen would be the most suitable strategy, due to the Achatina being found in the Swamps and Redwood Forest, some of the more dangerous areas of the ARK. Plus, the Achatina is a small enough creature for any ridable flying mount to grab it up, adding on to strategy of using a taming pen for this critter.
They suck at attacking only good for cementing paste and organic polymer though they are fast they get destroyed by Dilos and bigger preditors I have never seen them get attacked by gigas though
Just get a crossbow and aim for the head.Try to upgrade it to 14% and it should be easy to kill the achatina. Dont use melee it's harder to kill it then.
You don't have to tame them they make the goo even if not tamed just put them in a pen and watch them go
Honestly you dont need to tame one of these at all. They are a very important Dino but if your just starting out and have no farm just make a little stone cage and find a few in the jungle, pick them up with a ptera or argent and place in cage. They can stay wild and still drop a ton of CP no need to waste sap or crops!
Way more narco then what it says in here atleast take 100 for a lvl 50
Can also produce organic cementing paste, but takes a longer time
